Episode 335 - A Turtle Trick or Treat! (Halloween Card)

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I am feeling so much better today!  Thank you for all of the well wishes.  It was only a 24 hour thing, thank goodness!  My family needs me to be fully functioning or things go to pots in my house.  Not kidding either.  :)

We are getting grass today!!  Yay!  I've been waiting for a month for this day to happen.  Just in time for it to snow soon.  Perfect time to get the grass, from what I've heard.  It will be nice and lush in the Spring.

They are almost finished with the front!!

The backyard should be finished tomorrow.  Muffin will be so happy!!!  Lol!

Okay, here is a quick video for you all.  I almost didn't post it because the project is SOOOOO simple and basic but I thought I should just go ahead and do it!  Maybe someone out there will be inspired by it.  I have to remember that we are all at different levels in crafting and what I might consider simple, someone else might think it is just perfect.  So, I hope you enjoy!!

It's so weird having all my kids in school all day long.  I have time to clean up and do chores in the morning and then have a few hours open every day.  I probably should do something with all that time, huh?!  Maybe start a business again??!!  ;)

As I have been organizing and going through my scrapbooks I have been starting to feel sad.  My kids are growing up sooooo fast!  My 16 year old will be off to college in about a year and a half.  Holy cow!!  Life will be quiet around here without her.  Take a second and snuggle your babies today, if you blink, they will be all grown up!

Here's a pic of my 14 year old who I also like to call Mini Me!  She dressed up as an 80's girl last week for a Halloween concert!  Tomorrow she is dressing up as an old lady and I caught her looking through my closet for a dress!  What?!  I'm not an old lady!!

I'm off to make about 100 goodie bags for my kids' classes!  Plus, some pumpkin bread to take to the girls I visit teach and my sister who just had surgery yesterday.  I'll share pics when I'm finished.  Until then…..  Happy Halloween!!

Halloween Video Craft & Card Ideas!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I was really hoping to get in my craft room today and make a new video for you guys but, sadly, I am under the weather and have been lying in bed all day.  It's really unlike me to feel this way as I haven't been ill in months!  Hope it passes quickly, whatever it is.  I was starting to feel weak yesterday and my joints were really sore.  Just thought I was out of shape (which I am!), but apparently it was more than that.  Thought I would go through my past entries and share some Halloween videos and projects I have shared over the years.  Kind of like a blast from the past post!

This first video is from 2008!!  Looks like I was under the weather when I filmed this one, too!

Episode 67- Apple Cider Slider

Here is one of my favorite projects to make this time of year.  In fact, I am going to make about 100 of these for our church's upcoming Trunk or Treat!  I'd better feel better soon so I can whip those out!

Here is a cute 12x12 2 page layout I made using Cricut Paper Doll Dress Ups Cartridge.

Holy Cow!!  If you missed the following video then you really missed out!  I honestly don't even remember filming it! This was 5 years ago and I was much cooler then!  LOL!!

Episode 135…

This one has got to be my most favorite video that Karlee and I ever filmed.  Don't miss the outtakes at the end!  You can even just scroll through to watch the outtakes.  Totally worth it!!  HAHA!!!

Here is a fun card!  I love how it is so bright and festive!

Love all these goodie bags I made for my husband's staff years ago!

Here is the last video I am going to share with  you today.  This was one of my favorite Halloween cards that I have ever made.  In fact, I still have it in my collection but don't want to give it away!

I hope you all have a great night!  I'm going to stay in my bed and hope to feel better by morning.

You are Boo-tiful Goodie Bags

Hi Everyone!

I hope you have had a great Saturday!  Mine was a day spent over at my inlaws and then having family over for dinner. Did I tell you all how much I love living in Utah and being so close to both sides of our family?

Since tomorrow is the last Sunday before Halloween so I wanted to make something for the Young Women in my church who I get to serve in my calling. I thought this saying from Spookalicious was perfect along with this ghost from Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge. Hope you enjoy!!

Have a BOO-tiful Sunday!  Love you guys!

Episode 333 - Halloween Cupcake Treat Box & Recipe for Purple Velvet Cupcakes!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

*Don't forget to leave a comment on my video post from yesterday to enter to win a stamp set!  Click HERE to go directly to the post!

I seriously cannot believe I am making videos again.  Are you just as surprised as I am?  I'm going to post this one quickly because my little boys will be home in a minute and I'm going to try to only craft during the day and leave my evenings free for my family.  We will see how that goes.  :)

Yesterday I received a phone call from my daughter asking me if I could feed 8-10 of her friends for lunch in an hour!!  Of course I said, yes, since she is 16 and I won't have very many more moments like these.  I scrambled around for the next hour in my kitchen.  Good thing I had gone grocery shopping the day before!  I made a simple spaghetti dish, green beans, and homemade PURPLE Velvet cupcakes, since I was out of red dye and could not make Red Velvet!  They turned out AWESOME!  I will post the recipe under the video.

First, here is the video I made for you guys showing how to decorate cupcake packaging for a Halloween cuppy!  Hope you enjoy it!

Here is my kitchen aid mixer hard at work!  Looks a little muddy brown but it turned out to be a beautiful purple color when it was baked.

Thought I would share my cupcake drawer with you all.  It's right in my baking area.  I have my cupcake clear boxes, all of the toppings, piping bags, tips, cupcake wrappers, etc.

I use a Pampered Chef large scooper to measure out my cupcake batter and transfer it to the cups.

I made A LOT of spaghetti!  There was so much left over that we were able to eat it as a family for dinner.  That really helped with my dinner prep time!

Lemonade served in these cute little cups from Walmart.

Look how sweet these turned out, if I do say so myself.  I wish I could make you all one!!

The best part for me was seeing the smile on all of these girls faces as they were eating their treats and lunch!

Here is the recipe for the Purple Velvet Cuppies!

Purple Velvet Cuppies
For the cake:
2½ cups cake flour
1½ cups sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
1 tsp. salt
2 large eggs
1½ cups vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp. purple food coloring gel (found at Hobby Lobby or Walmart in the cake decorating isle)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. distilled white vinegar

Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe:
1 stick cream cheese
1 stick softened butter
(Cream together)
Add 1 tsp vanilla
2-4 Tbsp milk
4-8 cups powdered sugar
Make it to the consistency you like.  :)

My **NEW** Pink Loft! Craft Room Tour!

Hello Everyone!

I am finally moved into our new home and unpacked.  Can you believe it?  It seems like FOREVER since I've had a craft room.  I'm so grateful that Karlee was able to come and visit this weekend to help me set it up.  I think it turned out super cute and very much like my old one.  Hope you like it!  No videos just yet but here are some pictures that should tide you over.  Miss you all!

My walk in closet where I have most of my extra Cricut machines, Yudu, Cricut cartridges, aprons, etc.

I can't wait to use my Yudu!  Do they even sell these anymore?  I need to catch up on my projects!

My Imagine machines.  I know that these are now obsolete but I still plan on using them, at least until I cannot anymore.

I'm excited to be able to have all of my stamp sets out and in front of me in this new craft room.  I didn't have room before to display all of them.

I have two of these PINK Ikea Kallax storage units and I added some of the doors to them.  I love how I can hide away some of my bigger ideas that used to be in weird spots.  I can now fit them all in!

Here is one opened up.  I have my pens, watercolor crayons, pencils, Copics, Sharpies, and Promarkers in them.

I have some of my Cricut cartridges displayed on an open shelve above the PINK Ikea storage unit on the right along with my Cricut Expression 2.  Oh, and of course, there is Cricky!

I feel so accomplished!  After Karlee left this weekend, I actually  hung my M P S letters all by myself. There are a few extra holes under each letter but don't tell anyone.  (Especially my husband!)

One of my embellishment stations.  I bought both of these from Hobby Lobby and Michaels.  I am storing some ribbon, some ink pads, buttons, flowers, embossing powder, glitter, gems, etc., on this one.

This is my other embellishment station that is on the back wall that you will see a lot in my upcoming videos.  It has some ribbon, stickler, and this & that.

Above my paper station I have more Cricut cartridges.  I have way too many, if you want to know the truth.  I don't have the heart to get rid of any but I really need to!!

My Michaels' cubes along with my 12x12 paper storage rack.  I bought this YEARS ago so I cannot tell you where to purchase it.  Just google 12x12 card stock racks and you will get a ton of sites.

 Close up of Cricky!

Pic of the wall where my paper station is.  These are Ikea Kallax storage units.  I bought the 12x12 paper holder inserts at  Love them!

Here is a closer look.

More pics of my closet which stores about 75% of my Cricut cartridges.

A better angle.  I was able to fit a TON in this closet.  I had my builder make each shelf big enough to fit storage baskets.

My seat!  I will be sitting on this side of the room on my computer or crafting most of the time.  There is a beautiful view of the mountain outside that window.  I wonder if I'll get any work done!

This is what it looks like when you first walk into My Pink Loft.  I am so happy it is all set up!  Almost a year without a complete loft!

I'm so happy I decided not to paint this room pink like my other rooms in the past.  I enjoyed that season of My Pink Loft but I am looking forward to many more years in my new sophisticated Pink Loft.  Plus, the bright pink hurt my eyes!

Another view!

Here is a little bit of my balcony.  I haven't opened it much during the day yet because of those stinkin' Box Elder bugs!!  We've already had to have the bug guys come out twice to spray.  So annoying!

More pics!

Even more!

My Pink Stamper Stamps station!  Yes, you can see that I still have held on to quite a bit of My Pink Stamper Stamps.  Who knows, they might have a comeback and I might put them back up for sale.  I'm going to have to really ponder this one.  I miss my stamps and there is nothing out there like them, if I do say so myself.  Plus, I have a couple more ideas up my sleeve!

More of the rack!

Look at how neat and organized my Bind It All station is!!  Love that they fit in these 13x13 cubes.

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL night!!!  If you are wondering where you can find more of my pictures and posts you can also check out the following….
