Roses in Winter Card

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

How are you doing today?  It's overcast here but the weather is beautiful.  I can't seem to get myself to do anything productive.  I've had a little pain for the past few days and so I am trying to take it easy.  Today marks 4 weeks since I had my hysterectomy.  It was a partial by laproscopic, for those wondering.  I feel like I am doing pretty well considering the circumstances.  I'm super excited because my kids get out of school in one week.  YAAAYY!  Our pool will be ready to swim this Saturday so bring on the TENNIS, the SWIMMING and the FUN!  I've decided to drive my kids to Karlee's this Summer and then out to Utah.  My sister, Christy, is flying out so I don't have to drive by myself.  So much fun!  Only 6 weeks to go for that!

Today, as I was "resting" in my office, I pulled out my old Stampin' Up! stamp set called Roses in Winter and made this card.  I used SU 2011-2013 In Colors for the ink and the cardstock.  Hope you enjoy!

  7. I love how you organize and store your stamps. They take up much less room that way. Did you do an instruction video on how to do them?

I am so sorry to hear of your health issues. I have missed your instruction videos and wondered where you went. I missed the post when you closed your business of why or what happened. The Lord knows what we can handle and evidently He has other things in mind for you that you may not know about yet. He also never gives us more than we can handle with His guidance.

God bless you and your family as you recover from this loss.

  10. Take care of yourself Robyn. I had laproscopic surgery a few years ago and at 4 weeks I finally started to feel like myself but it took a little more time to fully heal. I overdid it and I paid for that so my best advice is to get as much rest as you can and don't push yourself.

The card you made is gorgeous! Love the colors.

    Take it easy,
    Leslie

  15. Many years ago I lost my first baby. It was emotional at times...even now I think and wonder what that life would have been and how they would have turned out to be. But God did bless me with a daughter 2 1/2 years later, she will be 34 this year. She was my only child, I would have liked to have more, but it just wasn't meant to be. Your talent with cards and stamping is therapeutic in many ways, I'm glad you have found an outlet for your private times. Your children and husband will continue to bless you, but don't apologize for the real, honest emotions that God gave you to deal with this healing time.
These cards are beautiful!! Just like your heart!!
    God Bless!

  19. Your card is beautiful Robyn! I had my partial hysterectomy done vaginally and really thought that I would be up and running pretty fast. But I wasn't!!! Even though I wasn't cut on the outside, I was cut up on the inside and it takes time to heal. So take it easy Robyn and don't rush things. You will be right as rain soon!

  26. Hi Robyn, I have been following your blog through the years although I rarely have any comments (until now). Please don't forget what you went through will take not only physical healing but also emotional and mental healing. You have experienced a loss and these feelings are very much real to you. There is a healing process you will go through and it will take time. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are allowed to feel emotional because no one can tell you how to feel. You didn't wake up and decide to feel this way. As mothers we try to do it all and we don't give ourselves time to recover whenever we are sick or just not in a good place.(even with the common cold). When we accept these feelings and limitations we can handle it better because we know it won't be forever. You seem to have a very loving and understanding family...I'm sure you embrace that.
