Simple Graduation Cards

Well, hello everyone!!  I'm still here, can you believe it?  I've tried to take it easy today but that didn't work.  I was feeling better this morning so I didn't lay down as much as I should have.  I even went shopping with some of my kids.  Of course, they had to push the cart and I walked VERY slow, but we did it!  My boys needed new shoes soooo bad!  All 3 of them had holes in their shoes.  So sad for them and they have been so patient with their mommy.

I also, with the help of my husband and my 3 boys, was able to transplant about 6 of my tomato plants to my 5 gallon buckets.  All I had to do was put the plant in the bucket which was super easy!  I promise that I didn't do any lifting with that!  I am really trying to heal faster so I am trying to be super careful.   My son, with my supervision, drilled the hole in the bottom of the bucket, then my husband put a layer of rocks on the bottom of each bucket, then my two little boys helped even out the rocks, finally my 11 year old added all the garden soil for me!  I just had to plant and water.

We have around 4 young women graduating from high school this year from my ward (congregation) and I wanted to make them a little card to put a gift card in.  These are super simple but I wanted to do something with the Chevron pattern Cuttlebug folder that I found in my stash!  They came out with it years ago before it was even in fashion!  LOL!

  2. Look like you will be having a lot of tomatoes. Take it slow and enjoy this time that you have to rest. You will have plenty of time to do all the running around and playing tennis like you use to do. Take care of you right now so you can continue to take care of your family. Love that you have time to do some projects. Take care.

  3. The cards are really cute. Don't take any chances with your health. Your kids and husband need you. got the potting soil for mine yesterday so will be doing the same as you today or tomorrow. I gave a lot of my seedlings away to friends since I had so many. Still have about 20 left. Not sure what I am going to do with them all but I'm sure it will work out. Hugs, Regina

  8. Sounds to me like you are doing TOO much. You think you aren't but all that stuff weighs more than you should be handling right now. They always say to not lift anything heavier than your purse. Are they kidding, you know how much a purse weighs? LOL! Take care.

  9. Hi Robyn,

It's nice to know you have so much help. That's great. Can't wait to see how big your plants get. Really cute cards. Love the hats. I was trying to email you but I see that you no longer have the email address. What I wanted to know is if you have any extra's or know of anywhere I can purchase the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge. I have been searching forever. I even posted on Cricut.com to see if they would consider selling it again, if only for a short time. :( Well, let me know. Thanks and glad to see that you are moving around. Take it easy.

  10. Hi Lisa~

I would just try looking on ebay.com for that cartridge. I have not seen it anywhere.

    Good luck!

  11. Thank you MizMaryAnn!

I know you are thinking about my welfare and I appreciate it. I only had a partial hysterectomy with laproscopic/robotic surgery so it's not as extensive as a full hysterectomy surgery, thank goodness! My doctor was very optimistic about my recovery, he told me that I couldn't play tennis for a good 6 weeks but that I could start doing things slowly after about 2 weeks. I really am trying to listen to my body, I promise. Yes, I agree that sometimes I do too much. I will really watch that.

    Love you!
    Robyn

  12. It is so good to hear from you again. I did't realize how much I had missed you until I started reading your recent posts! So glad you are doing better, like everyone else has been encouraging...take it slow! I too love to watch plants grow and produce. I have often wondered if God can do such a great thing with a seed to produce so much "fruit"; how much could He do through us if we just give ourselves to Him to work through and in us?!! What a blessing to watch plants go from a seedling to mature plants! I pray God will work in me to become a mature "plant" for His purpose!
God Bless, and hope your recovery is quick! For now, I am loving reading about your daily life!!

  17. Scary experience, so glad you are on the mend. 3 yrs ago after my youngest son was born, doctors discovered I had a blood clot in my brain. Was in hospital for 10 days- long road. Then when baby was 10 months I too had to have a partial hysterectomy. It is comparable to recovering from a c-section. You know your body.
We are of different faiths, but I think most believe in God, and in these times of trial, its a gentle reminder of what's important in life, that is what I have tried to take away from my trials.

  19. Hey Robyn,

I have looked on Ebay, they are crazy. People are selling that at such an insane price. A lot of people are complaining about it too. They are taking advantage because it is retired and hard to find. I'm not that desperate. LOL
    Thanks anyway :)

  20. Take it easy Robyn. It takes a while to recover. I was a couple of years younger than you when I had that surgery. I had a job interview two weeks later and thought I was fine. Until I had to make a panic stop on the drive. I got the job but was in real pain that night. Then I had to delay the start date for the new job because I had not been released by my doctor. I love it that you are back into making cards. They always inspire me.

  25. Robyn I always love watching your videos. I was wondering what envelopes you were using for your 4" cards (Unfrogettable)? I like making cards but seem to find it difficult to find envelopes so I feel limited.
