My Tomato Seedlings

Happy Monday Everyone!

More blogging therapy for me!  This year I decided to start some indoor seeds to transplant outdoors when the weather gets warmer.  My biggest success so far has been my tomato seedlings.  Tomorrow some of them get transplanted in 5 gallon buckets (with the help of my 11 year old son!)  I don't know if any of you are like myself, but I have found that gardening and starting something from a seed is very calming and rewarding.  I cannot wait until my family and friends can eat the tomatoes that we started from itsy bitsy seeds!  We will see how they turn out my first year.  Here are the different pictures I have taken these past 8 weeks.

Hope you all have a fantastic night!  I got the chance to put my little boys to bed tonight and last night.  I have missed doing that.  The stairs in my house are a killer, so I try not to go up and down too often.  I am working on some graduation cards for some girls in my church.  I'll share them with you soon, depends on how they turn out.

Nighty night everyone!
Robyn

  1. WOW you did great growing the seeds, like a pro. Your going to have a pretty good size garden. Normally we plant a garden each year but we get them ready to plant. Well most of them. Radish I do from seeds and super easy to grow...lol We have not even had time to get anything planted this month his parents were in town and then dh dad passed away here at our house two weeks ago so I doubt we will even plant anything this year. But hope to see updates on your garden and hope you get lots of yummy tomatoes from them. Home grown are the best!

  3. Tomato plants look great. I have mine going too. Finally moved them out on the deck because the weather is so great right now. Gave some to my daughters to plant in bigger pots and I will be putting mine in bigger pots today. Have some basil started too and can't wait for it to grow. Have fun with your garden. Hugs, Regina

  4. Those look awesome...sure wish I had the time and the space to grow things from seeds. My girls would love to do that. My oldest could eat me out of house and home when it comes to tomatoes....

So glad you are feeling better.

  7. Wow, great job. There is nothing like a home grown tomato. My husband just planted 6 different pots of tomatoes and I can't wait for them to be ready.

Hope you are feeling stronger every day.

  8. Robyn don't overdo it girl! After my surgery I sat on my bum to go downstairs. I also thought I could use a sponge under my foot to clean the tub, but that was a huge mistake. Hurt like crazy and felt like I ripped something. Take care of yourself, don't attempt anything until the dr. gives you the okay.

  10. Have you tried to make your own salsa? Super easy and there are lots of recipes out there. I grew my own tomatoes, onions, and jalapeño peppers and it must tasted so good!

I do want to also say do not over due it from your surgery. You can get complications so easily! Take it easy and just enjoy your time with your kids. I'm sure they would all love to help you.

  11. Sheryl,

Yes, last year I made around 36 pints of homemade salsa and they were all gone by January! That is why I am growing so many tomatoes this year. So excited to grow my own!

  12. Don't you just love planting those little seeds and see the plants come up out of the soil! I have been planting from seeds and find that so relaxing! Good luck and hope to see more of your gardening journey! i had to take my tomatoes in last night because it got so cold here in Utah. Come on over and visit my blog to see my journey also!

  13. Your plants are looking great! I also started some veggies from seeds. Mine are still indoors though. I live in Minnesota and after having 5 days of nice weather in the 70's, we have dropped back down into the thirties and we are getting more snow. I'm so ready for Spring to hit my area! :)
