Trunk or Treat!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Last night we had our church's traditional Trunk or Treat.  It was super fun!  I thought I would share some pictures with you.  The ghost suckers were such a hit that they were gone within the first 10 minutes!!  I also said "Oooooooooo  oooooo ooooooo" and had the ghosts kiss each child on the cheek before I put them in their bags!  What fun!!

How fun it is to be a teen!!  My oldest daughter was cold yesterday so she put on my dress jacket, a pair of sunglasses and went as an FBI agent!!  That's quick thinking!

My 5 year old couldn't wait to be a Ninja!!

This is what happens when you send your husband out with the boys to get Halloween costumes!  He comes back with 3 of the exact same costume that he got on the clearance rack for $6 a piece!!  That's good shopping but not very good for future costumes for the younger boys!  LOL!

My 10 year old daughter is just like her mom and loves the 80's.  Wouldn't she fit in so GREAT in that era??

That's one tired Ninja!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!  I just filmed a quick video for you.  Not sure when it will get posted but know that I am working on it!

Hugs!

Happy Boo Ghost Suckers!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a great week so far!  Let me tell you about my week starting with yesterday...

Monday - I decided that I wanted to change my schedule by getting up a whole hour and 15 minutes earlier, which was at 5:45 AM.  I hopped on my stationary spin bike that my DH got me over the Summer (this is only the 3rd time I've used it)!  Then I spent the rest of the day unpacking, catching up on about 20 loads of laundry, going to the gym to work upper body, cleaning my kitchen, my bedroom, and picking up the house.  I also started a crock pot dinner, which recipe I found on Pinterest.  By the time it was Family Home Evening (which is on every Monday night) I could only sit lethargically in the chair staring at my family.  LOL!

Tuesday - Alarm goes off.  Hit snooze.  Woke up at 7:00.  Took kids to school.  Came home and took a 2 hour nap!  LOL!!

I've decided that I don't think I can do the early morning thing every day.  It was great yesterday but I have been a SLUG today!  I would much rather get up at my normal time and get the regular stuff done.

This evening I started working on some goodies for this Friday night's Trunk or Treat Halloween Festival at my church.  We have the kids come outside for "Trunk" or Treat as we hand out goodies from the backs of our decorated vehicles.  Such a safe environment and I get to talk to all the children & youth in my ward (whom I love)!  These are simple Tootsie Pop Ghosts made using coffee filters (even though I don't drink coffee).  I added a video tutorial I made a few years ago under the pics.  Hope you enjoy these!  It took me about an hour to make 65 of them.
For this project I used a Ghost stamp set by one of my favorite stamp companies.

Here is a video I made over 3 years ago showing how to make these!!  It was video #68!

Here is an update of my HUGE pumpkin!  It is finally starting to turn orange on one side.  We have a cold front moving in by the end of the week so not sure how much longer it will grow.  We might have to harvest it soon.

We are SOOOOOO excited about our tomato plants!!  They have been green for the past month, never turning red.  We went on vacation and when we came back on Saturday night, there were 3 that had turned red.  We are going to eat one tonight!  YAAAY for my farming abilities!!  LOL!

Check out my grocery basket.  Can you see what is hidden below it?  Besides all the goodies I got for our Halloween party!

Little sweet Brayden was hiding under it all!  LOL!!

You all are going to be so bummed for me.  I actually got my Flip Video camera out to make a video series for you.  (Yep!  You heard right!  I am going to make a simple video series!)  BUT my video camera died!!  I had to order a new battery for it this afternoon.  Too bad that when I was in the mood to film my camera wasn't.  I even pulled out one of my earlier Flip models and they were dead, too!  Soooo sad for them!  Now that the weather is cooling off I plan on spending more time indoors doing chores and sharing what I love!

Hugs!

So happy to be home!

I don't know if any of you are like me but traveling makes me crazy!  I prefer to be home doing my normal routine.  I am grateful for our quick trip but it was very exhausting.  We rode in 6 planes and had over 5 hours of driving time in our rental car AND we were only there for 4 1/2 days!  YIKES!  We all had a wonderful trip but I do have to say, there's no place like home!  I love California, as I was born and raised there, but I loooooooove Oklahoma and the slow-paced life that I have here.  I told my husband that I think I am now a true country girl.  LOL!

Here are some more highlights of our trip!  I promise that this will be the last of them today.  :)

My 7 year old was so excited to go on a scavenger outdoor adventure!  He earned his "badge" and couldn't stop smiling.

I usually don't play a lot of games at amusement parks but my oldest 3 children and I couldn't resist playing a couple.  I won this very large Toy Story stuffed animal on the first game I played.

Since my 5 year old is so into Toy Story, we gave it to him.  He had to take it with him to bed that night.

My 5 year old lost his 2nd tooth while in CA and guess what?  The tooth fairy knew where he was!  LOL!  He was so amazed to find a dollar bill under his pillow the next morning.  He is such a cutie!

The main reason we went to California was to visit my in-laws who are serving a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  We were able to spend an entire evening with them and have a true Family Home Evening.  It was very special.  Don't they look so happy in this picture?

Of course, we couldn't leave California without stopping by Randy's Donuts.... TWICE!!!  A good friend told us about it.  Funny how I had never heard of it!

Okay, I can't believe I'm showing this but it wouldn't be a true Robyn post without an embarrassing video, right?  They were asking for hoola hoop "mommy" volunteers and of course my hand shot straight up!  My husband had left for a few minutes to take one of my boys to the rest room and when he came back, to his surprise I was part of the show!  LOL!  He told me later that he wasn't surprised at all!  He sure knows me!

Get Whale Soon Card

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have had a WONDERFUL week so far!!  Guess what?  My family and I are leaving on a little vacation to California in the next few hours.  So exciting!  My in-laws are on a mission for our church and we get to visit them.  We also are going to spend one day in Disneyland.  Yaaaay for Disney!!  I'll keep you updated while we are away.

I made these cards for some friends who were under the weather this weekend.  Didn't they turn out super cute?  I looooooove cute animal cards!

Hugs,
Robyn

I also helped my friend by making her goodie bags for her daughter's birthday party.  Very simple, as you can see!

Coconut Cupcakes & Goodie Bags

Happy Friday Night Everyone!

I just wanted to share some cupcakes and goodie bags that I put together the other day.  One of my closest friends is moving to New Orleans on Sunday so we had a going away dinner party for her.  Don't they look YUMMY!!??

Click HERE to see the recipe I used for the vanilla cupcake.

This is what I used for the coconut frosting.

8 oz of cream cheese
5 Tbsp butter (softened)
2-3 Tbsp milk
1 small bottle coconut extract
3-5 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup coconut (for the topping)

She told me that her favorite treats were Butterfinger and Peanut M&Ms so I put them in her goodie bags!

Here is little card I made specifically for her!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

Hello Friends!

Do you all know how much I LOVE October??  This year we are really getting into the spirit of Fall.  I am growing a pumpkin, we are decorating pumpkins, and carving pumpkins!  YIKES!!  I don't want this month to end!!

Check out this HUGE pumpkin I got from Walmart for only $3.88!

It's a tradition to make caramel apples on the same night that we carve our pumpkin.  It usually is during Family Home Evening.  The kids LOVE them and I do, too!

Check out how big my pumpkin is getting!!  Cross your fingers that it will be warm enough to finish growing!

Yup!  We start them young around here.  That is my 5 year old taking out the trash.  He was helping his 10 year old brother.  Not one complaint either!

The funniest story!  My husband couldn't find his cell phone so the kids were on a search around the house.  Look at what they found at the foot of our bed under the mattress!!  6 remote controls!!  4 of them we cannot even use anymore!  We've lived in this house for over 4 years and one went missing within the first month!  LOL!  They also found my husband's missing watch.  I bought it for him about 2 years ago and it has been missing ever since!

They also have pie pumpkins at Walmart and they are only .78!!  I thought it would be fun for my kids to paint them this year.  I think they did an excellent job.  It also kept them busy for 2-3 hours!!

I bought Metallic acrylic paint at Hobby Lobby for about $2.99 a bottle.

This one is our favorite.  My 14 year old daughter took her sweet time with this one.  I bet Karlee will love it, too!

Mine is the sorry looking pumpkin on the far left.  I was trying out the paint and gems the night before. The kids think it looks pretty funny!  LOL!

Star of the Week!

Hello Everyone!

It is Monday already, can you believe it?  The weekend went by so fast.  I love Mondays, though, as I use this day to get caught up on laundry and I get to play tennis in the morning.  It's getting super cold now so not sure how much longer I will want to play outside!

Last week my 7 year old was star of the week.  On Friday, my husband and I were able to take him in some goodie bags and read to his class.  My son wanted to use the crab from Create a Critter and Oh Snap from one of my Punny-licious stamp sets.
