Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

Hello Friends!

Do you all know how much I LOVE October??  This year we are really getting into the spirit of Fall.  I am growing a pumpkin, we are decorating pumpkins, and carving pumpkins!  YIKES!!  I don't want this month to end!!

Check out this HUGE pumpkin I got from Walmart for only $3.88!

It's a tradition to make caramel apples on the same night that we carve our pumpkin.  It usually is during Family Home Evening.  The kids LOVE them and I do, too!

Check out how big my pumpkin is getting!!  Cross your fingers that it will be warm enough to finish growing!

Yup!  We start them young around here.  That is my 5 year old taking out the trash.  He was helping his 10 year old brother.  Not one complaint either!

The funniest story!  My husband couldn't find his cell phone so the kids were on a search around the house.  Look at what they found at the foot of our bed under the mattress!!  6 remote controls!!  4 of them we cannot even use anymore!  We've lived in this house for over 4 years and one went missing within the first month!  LOL!  They also found my husband's missing watch.  I bought it for him about 2 years ago and it has been missing ever since!

They also have pie pumpkins at Walmart and they are only .78!!  I thought it would be fun for my kids to paint them this year.  I think they did an excellent job.  It also kept them busy for 2-3 hours!!

I bought Metallic acrylic paint at Hobby Lobby for about $2.99 a bottle.

This one is our favorite.  My 14 year old daughter took her sweet time with this one.  I bet Karlee will love it, too!

Mine is the sorry looking pumpkin on the far left.  I was trying out the paint and gems the night before. The kids think it looks pretty funny!  LOL!

The painted pumpkins are all beautiful. You all did a great job on them. WOW, your pumpkin in your garden is amazing. It looks like it will be a beautiful one. The one you got at Walmart is great. Can't wait to get ours, we roast the seeds, they are so yummy.

what a great idea!!! I am totally stealing this one from you, Robyn! I think the kids would love to do this. Purple is the Alzheimer's Awareness color and this month is the memory walk. I think we might just make a purple pumpkin in memory of my dad. Is it normal craft paint?

We love the bejeweled pumpkins... such a nice change from the standard carved ones and you can use the pumpkin after display for 'pumpkin pie'. Hehe
