Happy General Conference Sunday!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

This weekend was my church's annual General Conference.  2 days worth of inspirational and uplifting talks from leaders in our church.  It was fabulous and I feel as if my cup runneth over.  If you are interested in watching or listening to any of these talks you can click HERE.  Even if you are not of my faith there are some great ideas that we can all apply to our lives.

Last Sunday I passed out little goodie bags I made for the women in my church to remind them of yesterday and today's conference.  I think they were surprised to get them as I usually make them for children only.  LOL!

Last week another one of our missionaries got transferred to a different area.  He stopped by to say goodbye and take some pictures with our family.  He is the one in the middle.  Doesn't he look so happy to be serving the Lord?

Okay, it is almost time to get my little munchkins in bed!  I thought I would leave you with some inspiration I received this weekend.

*I need to write in my journal more, possibly daily.  I need to record any personal inspiration I receive, family stories, or world events.

*Read the New Testament again from cover to cover.  I love the stories and gospel principles that are in the scriptures.  I need to incorporate more reading of the New Testament.  I read the Book of Mormon daily (or as often as I can) but need to also feast upon the Holy Bible (Old Testament & New Testament) too!

*Service.  I need to pray daily for service opportunities.  I will never know who needs me out there and who the Lord is waiting to bless through my service.

There were many other things that I wanted to share but I left my notes downstairs.  Oops!  I hope you all have a FABULOUS Sunday!  I love you all and am so thankful for your friendship!

Hugs,
Robyn

  2. Good to see you Robyn! I like your tips for making Bible reading more a part of my daily life and looking for ways to serve instead of just focusing on the stuff I have going on! I heard a good idea---each morning read a Proverb. There are 31 of them, so read the one that corresponds with the date! Such good wisdom in that book! Your goody bags are cute, I'm sure the ladies appreciated your kind gesture!

  8. You and I are not of the same faith but I do admire you and your beliefs. We need more people who are willing to LIVE their beliefs, not just spout them off like memorized lines of a poem from High School. Keep up the good work as you are an inspiration to your children and to so many others that you will never even know about.

  9. BTW just because we are not of the same faith, doesn't mean we don't believe in the same basic things, we just don't go to the same church. I admire and respect that you have changed the course of your life to spend more time with your family and that's something that few would be willing to do. Blessings to you all!
