Hello Everyone!
Did you all have a great Labor Day? We had a few friends over and had a small BBQ. It was a good time!
Today I found a great deal on a 40 pound box of Gala apples so I decided to make Apple Pie Filling for canning. I made 18 quarts! It was fairly easy. I just googled for a recipe and found quite a few to choose from. My husband was so impressed (hee hee) that he asked for Apple Cobbler for dessert! They all loved it! I didn't taste any of it, though. I'm still doing Jenny Craig and had my extra goodies over the weekend. It was very tempting though!! LOL!!

OMG! That looks so darn yummy! Wished I lived closer I would get down on my hands and knees and beg for some! I bet the apple pie filling would be grat in a dump cake. I can taste it already. Enjoy!
Robyn, You never cease to amaze me. You must take lots of multi vitamins in order to do all you do. lol You are so smart and I read your blog everyday. Keep up the good work.
Looks wonderful! You're all set for the fall pie season. Recipe?
Oh wow, that looks great Robyn---guess we know who will be bringing all the pies to the holiday gatherings this year!!! ;) You need to post a pic of your pantry when you're done with all the canning for the season, I bet it's jam packed!!! (no pun intended!!! ;))
Wow that is amazing that you canned so much. The apple crop in the Midwest isn't looking good. Every year I make and can apple butter, but I don't know if I will be able to get apples. Right now they cost twice as much as normal.
Looks so yummy, the cobbler and the pie filling in the jars! I used to do this when all my boys were home, it is great to have the filling all ready to go and you can whip out a great desert in no time!
Oh wow that cobbler looks REALLY good!! You are strong to have resisted eating it!
Yum!! Lee-Ann :)
Sooooo YUMMY! I love Apple Cobbler and also Apple Butter to make this time of year and have them for my holiday gift baskests, thanks for the great canning idea my friend :)
Robin that looks so good. Would you please share with me your recipie on how you canned these apples? My mom has an apple tree that is loaded ( she has canned for years) I was going to can some but she told me she has never found a good way to can apples so I would greatly appreciate any ideas for some good recipes. Thanks, Becky
Looks so yummy. I love homemade apple pie. Great job with your canning of so many things Robyn.
it looks lovely! can I have some? he he
That would be a great gift idea. Robin, could you please share the recipe/process with us.
Wow, what a great idea. I would have never thought of that! I am not a canner but I must say you are really inspiring to give it a try!!!
My first trip to your webpage and I'm soooooo impressed. Your apples look great -- you should be so proud of yourself.
Robyn,
Wow...how do you manage to find the time for all of the canning, family time, and card making?
The pie filling looks great. Our apples in Nova Scotia are ready in early October. Different community groups sell 20lb bags of apples for fundraising. I know what I will be trying this year with mine!
Thanks for all of the great scrapbooking, card, and cooking ideas.
Those jars look delicious just the way they are, forget about making them into cobbler.
Mmmmmmmmm!!! Looks soo tasty :-) TFS
Your apples in the jar really look good. I googled some recipes for canning apples for pies, but I did not choose any because there were too many to choose from. If you have the time, please share your recipe. I like to use recipes that have been tried by someone I am familiar with.
Thanks,
Hazel
Robin that looks so yummy! I do have a question. How long does the filling last once is canned?
Looks delicious!!! I have two tree's that are absolutely overwhelmed with apples - I feel like my freezer is getting too full - this would be a good way to store some! I took 10 very full bags to local shelter this week and still have more to go!
looks sooooo YUMMMMMMMMY Robyn! recipe?
I love pretty paper too. I hate to cut it up.
Admire you for doing such a wonderful canning project and not delving into it yourself! Nothing like having an apple crisp/cobbler made from apples canned this way.
