Hello! I am June Houck , a proud My Pink Stamper designer.
A little bit about me...I have a paper and stamp addiction. About twelve years ago my mom tried to get me interested in stamping. I told her I was too busy working full-time to take on another hobby. She persevered and convinced me to attend a stamping convention. We went and I was hooked! (Thanks, Mom!) I now make and send cards more than I ever did before I learned to stamp.
I did not have a lot of time to stamp when I worked full-time. I taught middle and high school math for about 15 years. Then our twin girls were born and I was fortunate to become a stay-at-home mom. Then my creativity had a chance to soar. I made the girls' birth announcements, baby album scrapbooks, and Christening invitations. After they turned 2yo we enrolled them in pre-school.
This is their one year portrait from 2003.
When I was teaching, I treasured the parents that offered their help to me at school. Now it was my turn to give back! In addition to volunteering, I try to make little gifts for the teachers for every holiday and at the beginning and end of the school year. Now that I own a Cricut Expression, I am also able to help with bulletin boards from the comfort of my home.
This month I have been packing our home. In one week are moving to a town 11 miles west of where we currently live (in northern Virginia.) We are so excited; we will have a yard for our children to run and play and a pretty view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I can hardly contain my excitement! Most of our home is packed, but I have not packed one thing in my craft room yet. I can't bear the thought of being separated from my paper and stamp sets :)
And speaking of stamp sets, have you noticed the versatility of Robyn's My Pink Stamper sets? Check out this School Days set:
Did you notice "Birthday Goodies", "Celebrate", and "Party Time" could all be used for birthday and/or graduation, anniversaries, etc.? I recently used "Wise Guy" for a card with an owl (I love owls!) I may even use "You're the apple of my eye" for a card for my daughters; there are lots of great apple cuts on Cricut cartridges. Today I chose "Party Time" from this My Pink Stamper "School Days" set and a cute dog from the Cricut "Birthday Bash" cartridge:
