Can you believe it is my birthday today? Unfortunately, I've been sick since Thursday so I haven't been able to gear up for a fun-filled wild birthday. LOL! I'll be happy with a small celebration with my family by my side. This morning they woke me up with the traditional breakfast in bed and the Happy Birthday song. My little 5 year old is so cute because he snuck in the room before and said "Mom, we're getting you a bowling ball!" I don't know where he got that from but had to laugh. Of course the 5 year old did not go with them to pick out my present or I would have known the instant they got home what they got for me. I asked him if my bowling ball was pink and he said, no, it's purple!! So cute!
How about I do a birthday giveaway? I looooooove birthdays! Not just mine but everyone's birthdays. Let's see........ Hmmmmmmm. How about a SURPRISE box filled with some fun stuff from My Pink Loft & My Pink Studio???
Also, the COUNTDOWN to 40 begins!!!! YIKES! Only one more year in my 30's!!!

I surprised my boyfriend (we were newly together then but have now been together 4 years) for his birthday. What was so special about it was he was still smarting from his past several birthdays where his ex didn't even acknowledge him, so I got all of our friends, AND his whole family here, had them park away from the house so he didn't notice and coordinated them all arriving at a certain time (oh that was like herding cats let me tell you) had him run to the grocery for me to get that hard to find item, and when he got back we had decorated and yelled surprise! He didn't even catch on or notice anyone's cars in the street! It was terrific! He said it was his best birthday ever.
Hope your birthday every year gets better and better. Don't sweat the big 40, its just another number.

SO cute!! I love my kids...they always tell me too! My favorite birthday was when I turned 30. My husband got together with a couple of my close girlfriends from church and went ALL out!! He even flew his parents in to surprise me! He then wanted to bring them to our church to show them my classroom, I didn't get that. it was Saturday and I didn't want to go to "work" LOL!! He brought me there, and almost everyone from our church was standing outside to "surprise" me for my birthday!! They made this FEAST and it was such a grand day! I will NEVER forget it!! :)

My favorite bday was my 30th. My husband pulled off a HUGE surprise party for me & I had no clue. He even had friends & family from out of state at the party. I'll never forget that one and it'd be tough to top! Happy birthday, enjoy your bowling ball and your day !
For my daughters 16th birthday we got a big, big box and placed her smaller boxed presents in it along with a ton of newspaper, it took my daughter about a half hour to find all her presents! It was so fun we saved the box for the rest of the kids for their b-days that year.....
I have to say I have two favorite birthdays, both my son and daughter's 1st birthday parties. What a great couple days!!!

This past December was my 30th birthday. Instead of wallowing and mourning my 20's, I decided they should go out like a lion. So I took a cruise to the Bahamas.
On the day of my birthday, I swam with dolphins and went down all the slides that go through the shark tank. Then I went back to the ship and ate lobster, ribs and chocolate cake!

Happy birthday!! For my friend's 40th last year I made a flower arrangement using my cricut...it turned out so cute and she loved it. I included a gift card. It took me forever as I cut out a ton of flowers.

When we lived in Canada for my husband's job we had a really neat ice skating party for my daughter. It wasn't your average oval rink. The rink had different levels and a fireplace in the middle. The Canadians know how to make an ice rink. LOL. My personal favorite birthday was when my parents rented a limo to take me and my BFF to and from school on my 13th birthday.
We go all out for birthdays around here! Pirates, princesses, Sesame Street...but I have to say my favorite was the Carnival party we had for my son when he turned 7. We had carnival games, nachos, snow cones, cotton candy, hot dogs, and a giant slide and bounce house! It was soooo much fun! And of course I used my Cricut to make signs for everything! This year is going to be my best birthday. We just moved to Florida from Ohio ..and for the first time in my life I wont have to worry about being snowed in on my birthday which is this saturday ! :) We are getting up early and going to the beach shelling...then breakfast on the beach...and spending the day there. My best birthday memory was a huge party when I turned 30 last year! I went home to Germany and all my friends were there. Some of them I haven't seen in years and many of them traveled from all aver the world to spend that special day with me. I'd say it was my best birthday...yet :)

I posted signs in all the elevators at the hospital that my friend was 40. She had to go to all the elevators to take the signs down! I also had a rubber stamp made of her face (caricature). It was hilarious!

I think we had the most fun when we celebrated all of my kids birthdays in Disney. I have three girls all with December or January birthdays. My hubby was home on mid-tour from Iraq and we took the kids to Disney the first week of January. It was a wonderful trip and something they will always remember for a lot of reasons.

1 my 18th beacause my nan who had cancer at the time went ALL OUT to make sure i had a perfect venue, food, cake,decorations 'everything! hand made ofcourse as she also was a keen crafter/cake maker/perfectionist'... Anyway she grew her angel wings a month before which i feel she knew was going to happen being why she had booked and arranged it all so early..it was perfect apart from everyone crying there hearts out at the end i believe that we fullfilled her wish to celebrate my 18th and she did as she was there in every aspect!! <3 and 2nd WILL be this year as we have our beautiful little girl and boy to celebrate with nomatter what we do! nothing better than spending it as a family!!(which believe it or not we had planned 2 and having one of each is perfect!!)..Thank you for allowing me top ramble on LOL.. and hope you have the best birthday with all of your beautiful kiddies..xxx

So, on my 41st birthday, he threw me an "Inverse Birthday Party" in which the theme was everything from the year I turned 14 (get it? 41 inversed). It was a blast and one I will never forget.

When my brother was younger...my younger sister and I dressed as clowns for this birthday. My parents didnt have the money to do any entertainment she the best she was able to do with what she had...So my sister and i stepped up and to this day almost 20 years later my brother still talks about it. He will never forget that birthday! :)

One very special birthday I had my husband took me to the Niagara Falls gorge when I was pregnant with my son and we walked all the way down to the bottom near the whirlpool where he had then set up a blanket and packed a lunch. It was such a amazing day!!
There's a Chinese tradition that when you turn one, you put a bunch of items out on a table representing different occupations (ex. brush for hairdresser, calculator for accountant, money for banker, etc.). We did this for each of my girls, it's so fun to see what they pick. The older one picked up the toy hockey stick (we're a big hockey family) and the younger a music shaker.

My husband and I have been waking our twin girls up on their birthday at 5 am since they became teenagers, we decided since they kept us up all night while I was in labor, we would annoy them at their birth time!! The older they have gotten, the more angrier we make them, and we just walk out laughing!! They will turn 18 in July.

The Scrapbook Expo was in our area one year on my birthday. My husband surprised me by taking me there for a FUN FILLED day of shopping.
Happy Birthday! I love love love birthdays, I think they are so special each year and I love to make a big deal about them for my kids and family members. I almost get annoyed when people don't want to make a big deal, LOL. This last year we just happened to have Spring Break during my oldests 10 birthday so we were in Disney World. I am SO jealous he got to spend his birthday in Disney, LOL. They brought him a brownie shaped like Mickey for breakfast, my parents decorated the hotel room while we were out and we had cupcakes out by the lagoon/lake in back of the hotel. Plus he wore his button all week and loved having everyone tell him Happy Birthday! It was a great way for him to break into double digits! I may try to go there for my 40th, although it is summer so we will see!

One of the most memorable birthday i can remember is when I did the preparation on my hubby's 30th birthday, it's especial because that was the only time we celebrated his birthday together. Since he is a seafarer most of the time he is on board during his birthdays.I gathered our common friends and relatives for the party, and everyone had fun!
Hope you have a great birthday. I would say a fun thing I did for someones birthday was making a shadow box for my grandmother with her wedding picture and then a most recent picture as they were celebrating 50 years. The look on her face was priceless.

First happy birthday to you!!!! :). My favorite was when my hubby turned 40. We had a surprise party at a restaurant , all his friends were there, even his mother drove 5 hours to be there!! Lots of black balloons, lots of friends and lots of black icing on the cake!! The pictures are so cute...I asked everyone to stick out their tongues after eating the cake...everyone had a black tongue!!! It was a hoot, and he was completely surprised!!! Hi birthdaygirl! Hope you feel better soon!! I too love birthdays and celebrate the special ones!! I had a dress up party when I became 21 and it was great!! Lots of Blues Brothers, I was a Greek lady wrapped in a sheet and my mum( may she rest in piece was Rembrandt!). When I became 30 I wanted an iceskating party, because usually there is snow and ice on my birthday, which is January 30th! But that year no snow and no ice so I made it indoors, got paperpieces that acted as snow and it was lots of fun athough it took ages to clean up!! Abd last year my BFF became 40 and her eldest friend and I got her a receipebook, because she loves to cook, and the receipes came from all she invited, it was great and yummy and she loved it!!

Well the best birthday ever for me was on my mom's 60's birthday. We took her to her favorite restuarant and had a great time. So she thought that was it, that's all we did for her and she was happy with that until. Here comes her dream man (not that my father wasn't)but her true dream man it just so happens that Antonio Soli was performing in Miami that weekend so we gave her tickets to go see him perform and she was allowed to go back stage. Talk about an old lady having a heartattack. I thought she was going to pass out right there and then. I well never forget that day and she is now 76 and she still talks about it. Let's see, best thing I ever did was take my Grandma to Hawaii for her 83rd birthday. Its the last time she travelled, she's 88 now and unable to even barely walk...so I'm so glad that I took that opportunity when I did. She and the kids loved it, and we made some pretty awesome memories.

Happy Birthday Robyn! Wishing you a speedy recovery. I have done a few things for both of my parents 50th birthday. Had a gorilla gram sent for my mom when I had everyone over at the house. The gorilla danced away with her!! For my dad's 50th we set up 50 ballons along with a large sheet that we spray painted in the front yard for everyone to see!! My husband and I got up at wee hours of the morning so nobody would see!

I absolutely LOVE my birthday!! It's a joke in my family that I have a birthday week. It's not the presents that I love the most but that the focus is about me. I spend so much time focusing on the children and my husband and our families that I sometimes forget myself. For quite a while it seemed like everyone we knew was turning 40 and each weekend we had parties to go to. At one of the parties the man turning 40 was totally surprised when he came home and saw us. He fell to the ground in surprise. I'll never know how he was surprised because these parties had gone on for weeks before his turn. Then when the sister-in-law turned 50 we made up a cane and walker for her. We equipped the cane with a bicycle horn and mirror. We gave these to her when we went out to eat.,

Another year, me and the kids cut out a ton of hearts and put them all over the outside of my brother's house so that when he came home, the whole house was covered in hearts. It was always s much fun. We would picnic, soak up the sun and play all day. We were all exhausted and smiling every time! Such a great memory!

My most memorable birthday was 2008. I spent it in the hospital welcoming my new baby who was born the day before.
For my moms 70 birthday I got all of the kids in the family to send me pictures they had of her and write a letter to her about something they remember or did with her that they wanted to share. i also got in touch with all of her friends that she worked with and asked the same thing. I put it all in a scrapbook and gave it to her for her birthday. She loved it and boy did she cry when she read all of those letters.

I took my gal pal to Canvas and Cocktails in Denver. Sunday Mimosa's and came home with a cute VW hippie painting.

my husbands birthday is the 4th of July and he hates that.. he doesnt like that people always try to associate his birthday with fireworks and red white and blue..he just likes to pretend like it doesnt happen..well last year he turned 30 and had to work all day- he finally got home around 3pm and i had baked and decorated a cake for him and we all had gotten him some presents but it was all hidden and we just acted like we had no idea it was his birthday and got ready and went to get some dinner at his favorite fast food place then we were heading down to where the fireworks are and drove to a busy parking lot and i drove in circles finally i acted really upset and said "forget this, theres no parking- we are going home!" and when we got thre my sister had set out the cake and presents and when he walked in we all said suprise :) he loved it and it was so much fun..
Happy birthday! I hope you do have fun. The best birthdays are those of our children. Seeing the joy. They love to get presents, but they also love it when people come too celebrate with them.

Happy Birthday Robyn!! We always had a "themed" party for my son when he was little. One year we had a "Bug" party and I decorated bug jars for the children. That year we had a grasshopper infestation and the grasshoppers had covered the trees and bushes. Each child had about 20 grasshoppers in their jars. I told them they had to take the grasshoppers to their homes to release them! Their moms were so delighted! lol.

My most memorable birthday was when I turned my 13. My parents threw me a surprise party. My dad had taken me shopping (clue #1 - my dad is not a shopper) and out for lunch, we got into a fender bender in the restaurant parking lot. My grandma came to pick me up (clue #2, I could have just waited, the car wasn't totalled) and I got home and all of my friends were hiding in my room.
A super happy birthday to you! Now, won't you be surprised if you open a gift and it is a bowling ball. For some reason, your son thinks you need one. I have only had one surprise birthday party---age 40 and it was so much fun.

My favorite birthday memory was last year when my husband surprised me at work and brought me cake and my girls to see me, but the funny part is that he didn't let anyone know what he was doing so my co-workers had also bought a couple of cakes so we had like 3 cakes for like 8 people. It is funny looking back on it. This year my co-workers text-ed him to let him know they were buying the cake.

My favorite tradition, started by my parents for myself & my siblings, and continued today for us (even though we are adults) & now with our children, is a balloon release! I mean, who doesn't LOVE balloons!!! We decorate the party with the balloons & when the party is over we release the balloons. It's fun for everyone! One year when my younger sister was about 10, she attached a post card with our address to each balloon & when the balloon was found the post card was mailed back to us. She had post cards & notes from our town & 2 other towns. It was pretty neat! dearstrege@gmail.com

Happy Happy Birthday! My favorite birthday was my 22nd birthday. My husband and I had just moved to Germany a week earlier. I woke up to find that he has written a poem and placed it throughout the house and it led me to my present. He also made breakfast and grilled steaks that night for dinner. It was also my first birthday with my Sarah. It was fabulous.
Happy Birthday!!!!! For my Dad's 49th birthday we had "Burning Permit Required" written on the cake instead of "Happy Birthday" and we put all 49 candles on the cake. We were going to get an actual burning permit, but the fire department was busy with training. Before we brought out the cake we presented him with a fire extiguisher. It really was quite warm next to the cake with all those candles lit, but my Dad really got a kick out of it! I hope you have a fabulous birthday!!!!!
