My Pinkalicious Blog Hop & Challenge November 2011
Happy Friday Everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful week and are off to a great weekend! Today has been SUPER crazy for me! I am helping with a baby shower tonight and have already experimented with 3 batches of cupcakes before I got the right recipe. They are super yummy now! I'll share the recipe and pictures this weekend.
It is that time of the month! My Pinkalicious Blog Hop! If you've never participated in one of my blog hops, it is super simple. Just start here (which you already have) and then click the next linked name in the list and go from blog to blog until you make it back here. Then, participate with us on the challenge and share your linked picture at the bottom of this post. I cannot wait to see what you create!

I've noticed that a lot of us have stopped making scrapbook pages as much as we used to and I really wanted to encourage everyone to get started again. Cards are fun but nothing beats creating memories for your family and friends.

When I got my Cricut I was introduced to card making. Have not attempted scrapbooking. Guess that is something I will try next.

Can't wait to hop and see all the projects. I haven't scrapbooked much but the few pages I have made have so fun. I guess I make cards because they are less time consuming and I have a completed project in a short amount of time.

I scrapbook my 6 kids, so they have their "story." I didn't ever want to make cards, but its just a natural spin-off I guess - you have all the supplies, why not make cards?? Anyway, would LOVE to see some pages for inspiration - can't wait to start hopping...
I scrapbook because I love being creative and constantly coming up with new ideas, designs, inspirations. Most of my things are "outside" the box, but that is what makes scrapping so awesome. You can make it your own and there is no right or wrong! Thank you for your blog, your time, your videos and instructions, your reviews and everything else you do for all of us! I rarely scrapbook because it is so much harder for me. I enjoy making cards because it is instant gratification. Though sometimes a card can take me hours too! I am so glad you came up with this challenge because I do need to scrapbook more often (my mini book is a mini scrapbook of our trip to Alaska last summer.)
I am currently making a scrapbook for my hubby of our 2 girls. He's in the Army overseas and has yet to meet baby #2 :( it will be 2 weeks shy of her 1st bday before they meet for the first time, So for me I scrapbook for my husband :) he appreciated the time I put into what I make him and best of all supports my crafting habit, lol

I like to scrapbook because it is just plain fun and it preserves memories. A friend and I were able to go to a scrapbooking convention at Birch Run Expo center in MI today and we were at the both "Close to my heart" and she was demoing the Art Philosophy and she has heard of the famous Pink Stamper!!! I got behind in my scrapbooks for my daughter and went to digital photo books. I started creating photo books from santa each year for my daughter saying that santa has been watching her all year and adding pictures with all the important things from that year. I even left some wire rim glasses laying in the book one year like he was reading it and eating the cookies. But I love, love, love cardmaking and all kinds of projects with my cricut! I would love one of your new stamp sets.
I love to scrapbook because its fun and I get to keep memories in a cute way.
I need to scrapbook some vacations, but it is just overwhelming! I do make cards - seems easier for me.
I love making scrapbooks for vacations that we have taken but can't seem to get motivated to make them for other pictures taken throughout the year. I'll start reading the hop and hopefully get some creative ideas!

I make scrapbooks all the time. AND I make my students do them too! It's my favorite form of book report. ( I teach 6th grade) We've made scrapbooks for our biography unit, scrapbook pages for our service hours, scrapbook/pop up pages for setting...heh.. the kids enjoy it too!
I used to scrapbook but then I too started to make cards, then parents got older and needed help now I need to get back to doing both as Mom can take care of herself at least for a few hours.

When I entered the wonderful world of PAPER stuff about 3 years ago, my first ever weekend crop resulted in 20 pages!! When I returned home I received a thank you card so ornate, glitteratzied and embellished, I knew I had met my true calling. I love how I can GIVE my cards to everyone as opposed to invitiing everyne to my living room and looking at the books on my coffee table;) I need to get some of your stamps!!!
I am getting a Cricut for Christmas from my DH and am looking forward to getting back into scrapping and making cards.
I love scrapbooking - I find most blogs focus on cards so I don't have as much inspiration - plus scrapbooking the same events year after year can be a challenge if you want to keep it fresh and original. I was actually just working on a 12x12 layout tonight because i felt like i never do them anymore! I feel overwhelmed because i think i try to incorporate everything (cricut, stamping, chalk, distressing,etc) into one project! but i love to scrapbook to preserve the memories for my family and friends. it also just feels SO good to be able to create something!!
I love taking photos and I literally carry my camera with me everywhere I go. I scrapbook because it is such a great and creative way to preserve the memories. With scrapbooking, you get a story, journaling, emotion, etc. I also love that in scrapbooking, anything goes!

I scrapbook so that I can share the memories to my future children. I love to preserve the memories and have even started an album about my Fiances family so that our future children can see how our families started out. I also scrapbook to share my love of the craft with others. I love to make personal gifts and give them to other people. On top of my own personal albums I have made at least 5 others for family members.

I do scrapbook, it started after I married just as away to hold my cards and memories from the wedding as an album. We wed at the house on a small affordable budget and still do not regret a decision to this day. The scrapbook started an in-law on an obsession as well. Now I have to go back through the life of the twins and every event onward! We love it :)!!

I believe it's the timing! Working full time, taking care of the house....it's hard to find some time out for yourself. Us women we take care of other first than ourselves. I scrapbook because it give me and my grown daughter quality time together and she is very ill right now, so every minute is precious and it also lets us preserve these moments together!

I try to scrapbook but find that I lack inspiration, creativity and motivation so I end up just making simple cards and leaving it at that. I don't feel like anything I scrapbook is ever good enough for the picture I put on it.

I swear you were reading my mail this week. I was just lecturing myself about the lack of motivation I have on scrapbooking. That is the whole reason I bought a Cricut. Why I have not been scrapbooking? I am literally 3.5 years behind (my oldest will be 4 in March) and I am so overwhelmed on how much I have to do to catch up. Card making and birthday banner making is such an instant gratification that I have been avoiding scrapbooking! I am now off to bury the stinkin' thinkin' about how behind I am and uncover an enthusiastic creativity! Thank you MPS!

I am trying to finish up Project 365 from last year. I did mine a little different then you were suppose to.. I have been trying to put at least one Cricut cut on each layout. AND I took more than one picture a day and so much journaling lol, wondering if I will ever finish it. Hoping I can find a some time to do a layout - its been on the back burner lately...

I just got home late tonight - so I will be hopping in the morning! But...I LOVE to scrapbook, and just have a hard time finding a long enough stretch of time to do it. A card is easy to start and finish in a short amount of time, but scrapbooking is truly a labor of love. Trying to get caught up a little more lately though - so it's all good!

I scrap because I love to look back. My children have frown so fast. I am thankful I have pages starting when they were babies.
I used to scrapbook alot, but then the boys got older and into sports, church youth group, school activities and working fulltime myself - well timing is my issue. Hopefully this will give me inspiration to work it back in.

When my children were younger, I had a group of friends that would get together every week and scrap-booked. Lots of visiting and pages were accomplished. I have been making cards for over 15 years. I would love to do scrapbooking, but with a full time job, there just aren't enough hours. I will retire in 3-4 years and will start then. In the meantime, I got my granddaughter started at age 4 and she is doing a fine job! I bought her her own Cricut for Christmas this year...she will be THRILLED to have it (she is only 6).

I like to scrapbook, even though I'm way behind! I love writing down events related to the pics b/c most of the time when we look back through the pages, we don't always remember those little details, but the scrapbook page reminds us!

This has been so fun. I love all the great ideas. I don't scrapbook much...the idea sometimes overwhelms me (and I'm really picky). I have been card making for about 6-7 years, but I want to do more scrapbooking...I think my kudos would love it.
I LOVE to scrapbook. I make both grandparents an 8x8 album of the year (so they will receive 2011 in December). BUT, that makes it so I really don't get my albums done. So, I am hoping to start taking some time for mine.

Scrapbooking was my first passion when I began paper crafting. It seems to have fallen by the wayside as cardmaking and design teams and blogging have taken over but I do plan to go back to spending much more time scrapbooking in 2012.

I love your blog hops! But yesterday, my baby boy turned 1, on 11/11/11! Crazy! Anyway, I love to scrapbook. It makes me happy. I got diagnosed with thyroid cancer when I was carrying my 3rd child and only 4 months later my husband was diagnosed with ms. It was a really hard year for me, struggling with health issues and a beautiful new baby. But scrapbooking made me happy. It gave me a sense of normalcy when I felt like my world was spinning out of control! Plus, I am not so good at keeping journals, so my scrapbooks are my journals!
Love to scrapbook to preserve my memories of family and friends. I have to admit that once I started making cards, my scrapping fell way behind. I am trying hard to get back into it and catch up again. Thank you for the chance to win!

I loved the hop, some really cute stuff. I scrapbook for my kids, to keep all those wonderful memories alive for them. They love to pull out the books and go through them.
I can always remember growing up and looking through boxes and boxes of pictures. From then I have always said I was not going to be like that. ALL of my pictures are in albums. I have been scrapbooking them just over the last few years.

Oh and I scrapbook because I love telling the stories of our family, so I always have to work in lots of space to journal! I have a horrible memory, so it's a good exercise for me and a way for me to help me remember in the future!
I always thought to myself what can I do to leave a part of myself when I leave. Well it would be nice to think when I'm gone that people many years from now would love to look at my scrapbooks, like ART!!!! I put a lot of time in my pages, like ART!!!! a piece of me. I am new to creating anything and I found that scrapbooking was the ideal place to start. What is more inspirational than the ones you love - whether that is your family, your friends, your pets, whatever. I joined a card making club to try it, and it's fun but it doesn't have the same pull for me as scrapbooking does.

To finish a scrapbook every month was my new years resolution. then i got engaged, then i got married so that kinda screwed up my motivation. With a new promotion at work comes more responsibility. I hope to achieve my goals definitely next year! Scrapbook pages take a loooong time to plan for me.

I love to scrapbook, but have done less and less due to changes in life. Now I have all these photos and products and I feel overwhelmed trying to use it all. Because I still bought during my less than scrapbooking days, lol. So, I really need to keep on trying to scrap the memories for my family versus trying to use it all.

I've only scrapbooked a couple of times, for special family or missions trips. I think it would be too time consuming and just plain overwhelming to keep it up all the time. I do enjoy looking at others' creations, though! Thanks for the chance to win.
I scrap because I love to relax, and this is a great way for me to do it by scrapbooking. I als enjoy looking back at my scrapbook pages and see how beautiful my pictures look on there scrapbook pages.

I am not naturally creative, so your site is so inspiring. I love being able to create something that my daughter will cherish and show her kids.
I must admit, I don't scrapbook because to me photos can distract the eye from the layout. My solution...designing the layout around favorite recipes! It fulfills my need to scrap, is beautiful to look at, and makes a great gift! (Card making is still my fave.) Love your site.

I scrapbook but I do it in spurts. I love to make mini's but storing them is a challenge. I have two to make for gifts so this is a good opportunity form me to get to work! Now that I have grand children my craft time is more limited.
I love to scrapbook--it's such a great creative way to capture my family's memories. It's very important to me to record what we did and what our lives are like. And I enjoy the artistic side of it, too! Thanks for the chance to win!

I don't srapbook, I like making cards; something about the instant gratification! ;) I do like to scrapbook digitally, because then you can produce several copies to give out as gifts!
I agree, cardmaking is easier, but scrapbooking tells our stories. The best way is to get together with friends in a dedicated space and time and see how many pages you get done!
I love to scrapbook and make cards. Now, if only I had more time!

I scrapbook to make a simple photo look pretty and tell more of a story. I love scrapbooking my grandkids.
We are raising our grandson, who is 3. His father, our son, passed away this past Apr. I want to create very special memories for our grandson, since he will never really know his daddy. His "mother" never did a baby book, so I am incorporating this into it also.

I love cardmaking, but 2 weeks ago I create my first scrapbook album as a gift for a friends name day!!! She is a profesional photographer and I thought that a scrapbook album would be a great idea!!! After that I was really in love with it!
I wasn't sure if you had to post a project before you could comment, but then I only see 3 projects posted so I think I am ok to comment first. I am working on my project now and am hoping to post it this evening. On to my answer...
I was so excited to work on a scrapbook page for this challenge because I have been trying to catch up recently on some of my daughters pictures. I love scrap-booking, It seems like I am challenging myself all the time though because I am not used to using my cricut in my projects, this one seemed doubly challenging because I also NEVER know how to use stamps on my projects as well. So a challenge is what it has been :). Thanks for inspiring us Robyn! Oh, and I will keep you and your recovery from your accident in my prayers. Grateful that God protected you from more harm.

I started scrapbooking as a hobby a long time ago. I didn't put too much effort into it at first, but over time I figured out that it was actually a very pleasant experience. I have become much more picky and precise in my scrapbooking over time and have recently completed a scrapbook documenting my daughter's first year of life. I did it primarily for my husband so that he could see her year in pictures (he was deployed). I will continue to scrapbook to preserve as many family memories/experiences as I can.

I love to scrap because I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I have made something from just scraps of paper. I also enjoy looking back at all our family memories in my albums, vs thumbing through pictures in a box.

Hi Robyn, I started out scrapbooking about 10 years ago, then about 3 years ago I started making cards. I try to alternate between card making and scrapbooking, but I never seem to have enough time to do either one unless I'm working on a specific project.
I scrapbook as often as I can, which sometimes isn't too often. I try to keep up with all the memories of daily life. Although, sometimes it takes me a week to complete a page, I keep plugging away at it.
I am just now getting back to making layouts. I had to take a break but I do miss it and I'm slowing getting back into scrapbooking. Thanks for the challenge!

I made my first scrapbook, a 105 page 12x12 size of my grandson's high school sports two years ago. It turned out awesome, but I haven't wanted to make one since. It wore me out! Cards are my first love so I'm going to stick with them.
Why or why not I scrapbook? I don't at least not yet. As hard as this is to believe I am not a huge picture person, probably because I hate having my picture taken. I got into papercrafting making cards and just haven't strayed yet.
I have been scrapbooking for about twenty years. I love it!!! I love all the cute and fun stuff you can do with paper, stickers, and rubber stamps. It is a great way to store you family geneology. I enjoy doing geneology too. I would love a chance to win..

I scrapbook to have memories I can’t go back on or remember. Sometimes in my busy life I miss out on good things but because I have my camera with me at all time I’m able to capture those picture I would not be able to remember with my mind or wished I had save. I scrapbook so that my family can have memory for a life time and I scrapbook so my children can pass on joys of life we tend to let pass us by when were not look. I could go on but I know you all understand because most of do it for the same reason.

I Stopped scrapbooking because about 1 year ago I lost all my albums I had made of my kiddos even do I lost everything I owned my albums were the only thing I cried for and about 2 months ago someone broke into my home and stoled my harddrive were I had the last of my kiddos baby pictures.... but once I get over it Ill go back and do it.......

I do scrap book. It is harder than I would like because my kids are all grown up and I just have the pictures we took long ago.
I started scrapping many years ago but life got crazy and there was no time for my passion to create. 15 years later here I am again and wow have things changed. It is so awsome to be able to share ideas with others. Love you site and thanks for videos! I love my cricket. Now to get some of your stamps. They are great!

I love scrapbooking because my mother got me into it. It has been hard to get back into since she is no longer with us but I have GREAT memories with her on Saturday heading to Scrap class.
I scrap to document my life before, during and after children to leave a legacy for future generations.
Just saw your post about your accident. SO glad you and the other car are okay. I hope the deer's okay too :( I love scrapbooking b/c it's the one place / time that I have to myself when I have some free hands / time away from my daughter. I just bought a cricut this past week and now I love scrapbooking even more b/c I can do SO much more!

I enjoy scrap booking because I like looking at the pages after finishing a scrapbook page. Currently, I am trying to make a scrapbook of some memorable moments of my son who will be turning two soon!
I used to scrapbook way back in the day, but I just got to a point where my imagination was more than what was available, product wise, at the time. Now that I just got a Cricut, I think I will do more scrapbooking, but I will mostly use it for paper crafting.
