Episode 298 - Create & Coat with Mike my special guest!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I am busy getting ready for my trip to Utah tomorrow and I am super excited!  I get to spend the weekend with my best friend Karlee and my sister (who is like a best friend) Christy.  We would loooooooove for all of our Utah viewers to come out and say "HI" at our craft fair in Spanish Fork.  My sister will be selling those AWESOME headbands that she makes and I will have all of my stamps there.  We have also decided that we are going to try to do My Pink Stamper Live on Saturday night when we get home from our dinner!!  Please join us for that.  I bet it will be a HOOT with the 3 of us crazy ladies!

I have to tell you a funny thing that happened this morning.  Of course, my 9 year old DS didn't think so but I bet he will look back as he gets older and remember how funny it really was.  I made crepes for breakfast this morning and everyone was in the kitchen eating them.  I just assumed that he ate along with everybody else.  About 20 minutes later he comes up to me with one crepe hanging from his hand and he sobs "This is all that is left!  I just get one!"  Right as he said that, our dog Muffin, grabbed it out of his hand and ran off and ate it.  Now, I know that my son did not find it amusing but I could not stop laughing.  It was like something you see on a sitcom!  I'm totally serious!!  He had to settle for cold cereal but Muffin was sure happy.  :)

Here is another video that Mike & I made while he was here this week.  I cannot tell you how excited I am about my new product line that is being released in the next 3-6 months.  I am bubbling over with excitement!   This is NOT my new product that I invented this past year.  That is STILL in the works!  LOL!  Good thing I am learning patience in my life.  :)  It will be worth the wait, I promise.  BUT, my new product line is sooooooooo awesome!!  So many GREAT things to be done!  I wish I could tell you but for now I can just share my excitement.  You don't mind, right?

Hope you all have a GREAT day!!

Okay, that story about your DS and the crepe-snatching dog was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Poor kid, though--cold cereal instead of crepes! Have fun at your craft fair.

Hey Robyn!

I love the video! I have a random question for you and was hoping that you may have an answer for me. I have been scouring the internet trying to find the answer. My cricut blade will sometimes "drag" across my paper leaving little nicks and scrapes on my images. They are usually straight lines and are made when the blade is going from cut to cut. I have tried changing my depth and pressure and even different blades. I did notice the problem started when I changed my blade. I was just wondering if you have ever had this problem and how you have dealt with it? The only advice I have found is calling provo craft, which I will definitely do if I can't straighten this out, it just seems like there should be a really easy answer to this problem.

Thanks!

BTW, I love your youtube channel and your webpage. Always an inspiration!!

Looks like a fun product. I think I missed how he got the adhesive on the light bulb? Is it a spray? Can't wait to try it.

The new glue is interesting and I really enjoyed Mike on the video. I did get to see last years video on YouTube. I watch the one yesterday with the Mike and the other gentleman. I liked watching them with the Imagine. I just ordered a Cricut mini and hope my husband might try it. He has tried my Expression once but haven't gotten him to it again.
Thanks for the videos, Patty Wood

I'm thinking I have these tacky gold buttons, and I love doing 3d flowers so It would be cool to coat them and throw them in a bag of glitter, then take my coated glitter buttons and use them in the center of my flowers and then put them on my scrapbook page. (or card) Very cool stuff !

I love using Coat N Create with mica powders- it makes any surface look rich. After the adhesive dries, I apply the powder with a small paint brush. Working for the Glueologist has its perks-I get to play with the products before they hit the market. I can't wait to see how crafters and artists use Coat N Create once it arrives on store shelves. Would love to hear ideas!

Mike,
Between the two of us, Robyn is the neat one...her Head Designer, on the other hand, LOVES to make a mess LOL! I can think of about 10 things off the top of my head I could use that glue for :) and the more glitter the better!

When I saw the video for GlitterIt last year, I made my friend (who lives near a Hobby Lobby) go grab me two bottles so I could have some for this year. Now she'll have to go grab me some of this! And of course my hubs totally LOVES the glitter. LOL I'm all excited to get some now!

Liked the video but curious how you get the glue on the light bulb?

Court said...

I think it is an interesting product. I would have liked to see how it went on the bulb as I don't know how thick it is or if it's watery so that it gets an even coating on or if you use a paint brush, etc.

I would be really interested in seeing the flocking or how it goes on paper and how quickly it dries... If it's that sticky you could also use raw embossing powder for interesting effects. And what happens when you then heat it on the glue? I think there are bunch of fun things to do with this product. :)

I am so bummed. I will just miss you in Utah. We will be heading out early on Wednesday to spend Thanksgiving with family. It is a long drive from So Cal but so worth it. My husband also has a job interview in Lehi on Friday so keep your fingers crossed that he gets the job! We have been dying to get back to Utah. I hope you all have a blast!

When are you coming to Denver? We need you here! :)

Hey Robyn!! I'm from Argentina and i LOVE your videos! So many wonderful ideas!! Since here they don't sell any cricuts or things like that for crafters, i was planning to ask a cricut for christmas and have it sent from the USA. I was wondering if you could tell me which one would be the best one for me, since i never used one and all i know is for watching your videos. Can the mini one perform the same tasks than the other ones? I would really appreciate if you could answer as soon as possible, as maybe the shipping can take two months and if that happens i won't be able to have it for christmas :(

Keep on doing things like these, people really enjoy them, specially that you are in great mood alwaysss!! XOXO
