Sunday Scrappin'!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope you had a WONDERFUL day!  I scrapped a little this evening and even made cinnamon rolls from scratch for the first time.  They turned out super yummy!!  I am starting my healthy lifestyle/working out tomorrow.  I've taken too long off and I just don't feel like I ever have any energy.  I want that back.  So, this was my last big goodie for a while.  There!  I said it!!  Now I am accountable!!  LOL!

Can I tell you all a little secret??  I've been doing some digi scrappin' along with my traditional scrapbooking and I am having so much fun!  I don't think I will ever completely switch over but it is AWESOME to be able to make a quick page while I am sitting in my boys room waiting for them to fall asleep or when we are on a road trip.  PLUS, with 5 kids in my family, I doubt I will ever get caught up the traditional way.  I've made over 75 digi scrapbook pages in the last 2 weeks!  I know, it is totally crazy, huh??  I've already had 40 of them printed off from an online company and they turned out FABULOUS!    So for you all that digi scrap maybe you will see more here & there of my pages BUT for those of you who don't, no worries, this is still a mostly paper crafting blog.  I created this blog almost 5 years ago as a place I could share a little about me and what I love.  That hasn't changed but from time to time you might see something new!  Nothing wrong with that, right???  lol!

  1. Digital scrapbooking!! Go YOU! I tried it out myself last year. I wanted to make a memory book of my stepdad for my mom and my sister and me. That's 3 copies, no way I could do that in the traditional way! I was completely stressed out about it at first, being so technically-challenged, but how much easier can they make it, really? :)

  5. I am about 5 years behind in my albums. I am currently working on my baby's (she is almost 4!) album, then I will work on my wedding album (um, 8 years later!) and then I am going to transfer over to digital scrapbooking for our family albums. I can't wait to get caught up someday. Do you mind sharing which digi progam you use?

  9. I too dabble in digital. For many things it is the way to go. I really love traditional paper scrapping but from time to time will create a digital page. There are some awesome resources on the net. My favorite site for education on all things digital is jessicasprague.com.

Also, where do you get your pages printed? I found an awesome place and the pages are only $1.99. Persnickityprints.com. Cause we all know that can be a huge expense to digi scrapping is the cost of printing your page!

    Have fun!!

  11. I started out digital - got a lot of pages done. I loved it - no mess, everything was drag and drop and add text. But I did miss the textures and the feel of paper - I have mixed the two together and it work out well also. I say you are recording memories your children will love. I wish scrapbooking was "in" when I was growing up so I could see what my mom thought was neat that I did and read her thoughts - in the end, that is really what it is all about. You are leaving a treasure for your children that reflects the love you have for them in your heart.

I feel the same way about digi verses traditional. I've done both will never fully switch to digi but love the speed and the elements they've come out with I love. I use CM program to edit and the layouts. Was wondering what online printing company are you using and what do they charge.

  33. Hey Robyn...your page came out cute. I remember when I refused to go digital with my SLR camera. I was like "no way, i'm not giving up my film!" but then I did and I can't imagine how i did it with film. I'm scared to go digital with scrapbooking because I may love it too much...then how do I explain to my husband that I no longer use ALL the stuff/machines I have filling up my craft room...LMAO. :)

  39. I love homemade cinnamon buns. When I read your blogpost, I could almost smell them! I too have dabbled in digital, and for a while, I was printing out the 12 X 12 pages, but it was just too expensive because of the ink consumption. I'm trying to find a web site that prints them off at a reasonable price. What have you found?

  65. I thought I would respond to everyone who is wanting to know about digital scrapbooking. Here is what I use. Creative memories Storybook and Memory Manager(picture enhancing program) the pair together are amazing. I haven't figured the Memory Manager out completely but what I have taught myself I love. Really helps enhancing color, and crispness of your photos. Creative memories has lots of free digi downloads and also many packages to buy that are really reasonable. You can either print the pages or have them put in one of their binded books ( I think the their binded books are a little pricey)SO so user friendly, if my mom can do it anyone can. they make it so simple to use. also if you have a consultant they are always willing to help. They also do online classes to help you with learning. Very impressed with the program wish I used it more. Anyway wanted to let those know who have asked about what is out there. I just really think CM is user friendly and has great creative embellishments to make your own or to use their drag and drop templates.
