Happy Sunday!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having the best Sunday EVER!  It's actually been a pretty good one around here.  Let me share!

Today during my singing time in the Primary I did a little review game for the kids and it got a little CRAZY!  Usually I like to keep the kids very reverent, while teaching them gospel priciples through song and music.  Well, today, since they have already learned all 3 songs for the year so far, I thought we would get a little wild.  LOL!  Okay, so as wild as you can get while at church and still have the churchy atmosphere.  :)  With the older kids I played a fun game called "Hide the Foot".  I had a foot that was cut with the Cricut and one child would hide it and another would have to find it.  We would sing soft when they were far away and get louder as the child got closer to finding it.  For one of the older kids, I slyly taped the foot on their back when they weren't looking.  We were singing LOUD the entire time and I almost couldn't get through the song I was laughing so hard.  The song was perfect for this kind of activity.  It is about how we are taught that we should always "Be True" and "Stand for the Right".  Last week I started out the lesson by asking them what it meant to Stand for the Right.  I got a lot of great answers.  Sometimes the children teach me more than I ever teach them.  :)

This past Monday night we were able to have the Sisters, who are serving full time missions for our church, over for dinner.  We had a wonderful gospel discussion at the dinner table and I realized how blessed I am to have them in my life.  What a selfless thing it is for them to give up 1 1/2 years (the young men serve for 2 years) of their young lives to serve the Lord full time.  I only wish I had that opportunity when I was younger but I decided to get married after I joined the LDS church.  Hopefully my husband and I will get the opportunity to serve a mission together sooner rather than later.  LOL!  I guess we need to finish raising our kids first.  :)

Yesterday I was driving to Sam's Club and there was a homeless woman on the side of the road with a sign that said "Sick of Life".  It really struck a cord with me and my heart went out to her.  She couldn't have been more than 22 years old.  I said a silent prayer for her and hoped that she would find a reason to find joy in life someday and that it all would work out for her.  There was a time in my life when I was around 19 or 20 when I was very close to being where she is.  I am so grateful that circumstances changed for me and I was able to get out of the rut I was in during that time in my life.  It is so easy for us to judge others and say how we would do things differently if we were them but until you walk in someone else's shoes you will never know.  Life is hard but it is soooooo worth it!

Below I wanted to share 5 of the biggest blessings in my life.  Yes, it is very LOUD, CRAZY, and CHAOTIC most of the time but I would not have it any other way.  I was able to find a way out of the life that I was leading and get on a path that will lead me to places I want to be and with the people I love.

I truly hope you are all having a very peaceful day.  I want you all to know how grateful I am for YOU and the love & support you show me.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily.  :)

I also do singing time in my ward, and I actually did this same activity today. It was so much fun. I love this calling. I use my cricut all the time to do cute, fun things for it. 18. Robyn,
I so understand what you mean. My husband and I live in Mexico in the Siera Madre Mountains in a town called Chapala. We volunteer at a local childen's shelter and love it! We also have a 15 yr old God Daughter that we asked if she would be our God Daughter and she is such a wonderful Blessing to us. She lives at the shelter. I have been so blessed to make and sell my cards at a local art gallery and I donate money from the sale of my cards to the shelter or to our totally Mexcan church. There are a few of us Gingos there, but our pastor is such a great guy he preaches in Spanish and English. I want you to know that you and your family are always welcome to come here and serve at the shelter and stay in our home. The kids may have to sleep on the floor but that is usually fun for kids. We are so blessed and what we can do for others is our greatest blesswing. The Mexican people are such loving and kind people and we are so blessed that God brought us to this lovely place.
God Bless you and your loviong and giving heart!

  27. Your post is so true. So much of us take life for granted not realizing that we are all blessed with so much. And not material things, but with family, love and most importantly the Word of GOD.
When I see a homeless I always give them some money, I know, maybe they will use it wisely, but if they choose not to that will be their choice. Once it leaves my hands it is up to them how to spend it. I also donate platelets every 2 weeks. I was told because I produce so many of them that 3 children are saved with my platelets. I feel so happy knowing that I am helping not only the children but giving the parents HOPE.

  30. Hello Robyn,
Right now me and my family are stationed in Tokyo Japan and its so sad to see the hurting people of Japan. I am thankful that we have our home, food, water and power. Its sometimes hard to stay strong with all the aftershocks and thoughts of nuclear meltdowns. But I am for my husband so he can do his job to help the Japanese people. The Air Force is taking care of us Americans and helping the world get supplies to the Japanese people up north. Please Pray for Japan.

  32. Such a beautiful post. You truely are a good person. To reach out to a homeless person with a prayer for her...I always notice them and feel badly for them, but now I will know how to help them-say a prayer for them that they find happiness and meaning in their lives. I'll always think of you and your kind heart when I see these people now. Unfortunately there are too many like that in this world today. Have a great week-you deserve it! zellfam2@tds.net

Everytime I read a post like this from you, it reminds me of all the wonderful things I have in my life and reminds me to be grateful for them. 39. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for sharing this. I know first hand what it can mean to be in that rut, and I know how it can feel to hold that sign up Sick of Life, I lost my mum when I was 16 and that was the hardest thing to ever go through, to know she will never be there on my wedding day or hold my babies, it ripped me apart, I went right off the rails, but over the time I pulled myself together, and now I have three beautiful children that I am so grateful for.

  41. You have blessed lots of people through your constant acts of kindness. I strongly believe in the power of prayer and only 2 weeks ago the Lord spared my father as he was having a massive heart attack that I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have survived if I hadn't called on my friends who started praying as soon as I told them.
May the Lord bless you all my crafty friends.
