Cricut Cruise - Day 3 Grand Turk Island

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I am loving going through all of these pictures from the Cricut Cruise.  Have I mentioned how much fun Cricut was having??  You could find him laying out on the deck, parasailing with the wind, and doing everything that we were doing!  He/she is soooo cute!!

Karlee and I had so much fun.  If it wasn't for my family waiting at home and missing them so much, I wouldn't have wanted to leave!!  The Lido Deck where we ate lunch was FAB!

Every night when we came into our rooms after dinner, the room steward had made us an awesome animal towel!  They were so awesome!!

The first two days of the cruise our cabin was FREEZING!!!  This is how I found Karlee after I was already up and ready for the day!!  She had slept completely covered!!
This was the beautiful scene that we saw when we woke up in the morning.
This was our ship.  The Holland America Eurodam.
Getting ready for our snorkeling experience in the ocean.

It was very scary at first getting off the boat and into the open sea.  I kind of had a little panic attack but got over it fairly quickly.  I have a fear of large bodies of water.  It scares me not to know what is under me.  It was very cool, though.  We went to two different locations.  In the first area we saw lots of colorful fish and a large sea turtle.  Soooooo cool!!  On the second location we swam over 2 sharks!!!!  We saw people swimming away pretty fast but we felt safe as our instructors were over by the sharks feeding them fish.  They were only nursing sharks but still sharks!!  After we were finished with the sharks, Karlee and I started slowly swimming by ourselves back to the boat.  Karlee started pointing to something in the water but I didn't see it.  We surfaced and came upon other snorkelers who asked if we saw the big grey fish.  We looked again and saw it swimming near us and kind of around us.  When we surfaced again we were told that it was a barracuda!!  I didn't need to hear anything else....  I swam like a warrior back to the boat leaving everyone behind me.  If you are not familiar with that type of fish, google it.  LOL!  They are pretty vicious!

The wonderful thing about some of the beaches at this port was that you could find your own HUGE shells!  Karlee and I both found one on a less busy beach.

I hope you are all enjoying my pictures.  I will have more of my regular stuff on my blog really soon.  I am going to try to still do My Pink Stamper Live Weekly tomorrow morning between 10 and 10:30 am CST!  So stay tuned!!!

Big hugs to you all!!  I am so thankful that you come to visit me often!!

Wow sharks, I would not have gotten in the water. LOL.
Being from Florida I have gone on many cruises and not once snorkled or been with the stingrays, especially after the tragic death of Steve Irwin. What a sad loss. And then the barracuda stories especially here at the florida Keys. Many tragedies. So this is why I do not get in the deep waters.
Glad you and Karlee had a wonderful time. I really wish I would have gone. Love watching all the pictures you have been posting.

What a great trip... the more you talk about it the more I want to take a cruise myself.
So many great memories. Now you can check mark the whole - swim with dangerous fish off your bucket list-ROFLOL.
I've got to say the pictures are amazing the water was so blue.
Thanks so much for sharing your personal experiences with us all.

Thanks for sharing your cruise pics. I look forward to seeing them. I am such a beach girl (from VA who moved to PA for my husband) We rarely see the sun here in the winter and I have had the flu and now pink eye, so seeing the beautiful beach pics makes me feel better. If only I could go somewhere warm and sunny, then I would really feel better!
Glad ya'll had a great time!

Wow Girl!Nurse sharks and Barracuda! I wouls have gotten out of the water quick! But them I'm a baby! AndI too am afraid of deep water! I had an experience in a tiny plane flying low over the ocean from Maui to Oahu. I could see the sharks swimming around, and the pilot told us how deep the water was! Scared the daylights out of me! I closed my eyes and held on to the arm rests until we were over land!
I'm so glad you had a great time! And your kids will be impressed!
Hugs, Jessica

That looks so fun! I'm going on a cruise in December and cannot wait! You're both very brave for having ventured out swimming. Even though I live a few miles from the beaches in South Florida...we NEVER go.

JANLYNN said...

We always find the neatest shells on cruises. Once when my daughter was about 4 she was playing with one on the beach and she got mad because it kept flipping over. Yes the little animal was still in there.

Linda said...

Wow! What a fabulous time. Thanks for admitting your fear about open water and what's under your feet. I, too, feel that way. It's nice to know I am not the only one.

Hi Robyn!!
GREAT pix!! Can't believe you even had time to take them! So many times, after an event, I think, "Why didn't I take pix?" there never seems to be time. I've mentioned before, I grew up on boats, but believe it or not, NEVER went snorkeling!! Don't think it's something I would love!? otherwise I would've done it!
Can't wait for the live show this morning & the Blog Hop tomorrow!
Hugs from R.I.,
