Sunday Activities

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

I thought I would share my day so far.  It has turned out to be a great day!  This morning we met earlier than normal at our church due to a Conference that was broadcast to Okahoma, Texas, and New Mexico members of our church.  I took a bunch of notes and came away very uplifted.  Here are some things that I wrote down...

*We all need to reach out to His lost sheep.  Help others know how important, special, and loved they are.  Help those who are lonely know you care.  Forget ourselves and find those who need us more.

*PROS
P - Pray both morning and night
R - Read scriptures daily
O - Be obedient
S - Smile (I love that one!)

This conference really helped me to remember why I am here.  It is not all about me and the minute I feel that it is then I have some big problems to work out.  We are here on earth to learn to be like Him.  We need to learn patience, meekness, be humble, caring, forgiving, etc.  Soooooo many things that I need to work on daily.  I am so grateful that I do not need to be perfect and the only way I can be perfect is through Him. I also need to remember that I am also here on earth to serve my fellow man.  I need to seek for opportunities daily to help others. We can all do this in our lives.  Can you imagine how great this world would be if we all served each other?  I can only imagine.  Remember that one person CAN make a difference.

When I got home I really wanted to take a nap because I was exhausted!  My children had different plans for me so I ended up getting out of bed.  I guess I will take a nap another time.  I decided that instead of being grumpy (which I was for about 10 minutes), I would make a scavenger hunt game for the little boys.  They had SOOO much fun and it was a great Sunday activity!  I will have to tuck this away for another day.  It helped them to stay busy for a little while.

I then helped one of my daughters work on her Faith in God program.  When children turn 8 in our church, they are baptized and also get to be involved in the Faith in God program for both boys and girls.  You can click HERE if you would like to read a little about this.  I did not grow up in the LDS faith so I didn't have anything like this in my life.  I really wish I had because it is a wonderful program!

Early this evening I was able to sit in my Loft with some of my kids and organize some of the pages that I have started, need to do, or power-scrap.  I love working on my Family History, "aka" scrapbooking, on Sunday.  What a great day to remember my sweet family and write down/create layouts just for them.  Hopefully I will get caught up one of these days.  Now that I am kind of running a business, too, I need to remember to carve out time for how it all began, and that was with my personal scrapbooking almost 15 years ago.

Here is a pile of pre-made scrapbook pages that I have made for my DVDs, videos, and other projects.  All I need to do it pop pictures in there & journal.  The only problem is finding the pictures that go with the pages.  I am a chronological scrapbooker, so I am only in January 2009 right now, and am not ready for all the Spring pages I made.

All of these pages need to be organized and put in the proper scrapbooks.  I have an ongoing one for my family and each of my 5 children.  So, yes, I am working with 6 books at a time.  Once my children start school they really only have about 6 pages added to their personal books a year, unless there is a special occasion, like a baptism or school play.

Well, I think this is the most I have written on a post in a LONG time!  LOL!!  It has been a good day.  I want you all to know how grateful I am for YOU!  It truly brightens my day to read all of your sweet comments and feel your support.  I hope you all know that you are in my thoughts and if you ever need anything please send me an e-mail.  I also want you all to know how special you are in the sight of our Father in Heaven and that He loves you.  :)

P.S.  I know this is churchy!  LOL!  I understand we do not all have the same beliefs and we are all very different.  We believe that all men have the right to worship how, where, and what they may.  This is just a better way for you guys to know what makes me tick.  :)

"Talk" to you guys tomorrow!!

  14. Robyn, I did not think was churchy at all!!! I do not belong to the LDS church, but I do go there for by Cub/Boy Scout program. I feel comfortable and safe. My little boy, 10, loves the program (ok, I am the Webelos leader). I think to tell others about your beliefs is not wrong: to impose them, is another story. And you never do!!! So, thanks for sharing your day with us. Mine, well, I am spending cleaning my house :-( (and avoiding every minute I can :-)

  21. I loved your post. I needed it. Somebody broke into my dad's (he is 88) barn and shop. He lives with me. They made a mess and stole over $10,000 of stuff. The problem is all the snow and we had to walk up a lane to get there. I have been so down because all the stuff I need to get done. The police have been informed, doors are now secure. All I really need to do is itemize all the stuff. (not easy) I now have to inform insurance company. I was also getting very negative about people. Thank you again for making me feel better. It is only stuff. We don't need stuff but we need each other. Love PROS!!!!! I feel much better!!

  37. Robyn, you know what I think it's great that you share this part of your life, you are being real. I think we all get to politically correct, because we don't want to offend anyone. If someone is that thin skin, I think they would have found another reason down the road not to follow or read your blog. Amen sister.

  41. Robyn, the fact that you're not apologetic about being a Christian is one of the things I love most about you! And it's one of the reasons why out of all the design teams out there, I wanted to be on yours most of all. I admire your sweet spirit, your humbleness and your willingness to serve others.

My prayer is that God reminds you each and every day how special you are...not only to Him...but to all of us who have the pleasure of "knowing" you.

  42. Robyn, I so admire you for being courageous enough to post everything about you, even though sometimes, religion may be such a taboo subject or even political. But you share it because it's yours and makes up who you are. I was at the conference too, and enjoyed it very much as well. The spirit was very strong, since yesterday when our stake conference started. I walked away very uplifted. I just wanted to tell you that I admire your courage.

  57. Hi Robyn!!
I can't tell you how much your words have brightened my day. After Mass this morning, my spirits were lifted, as they usually are, but after reading your post, I'm so calmed & inspired! There have been so many things going wrong in my family, (health issues causing major stress & arguing) that it has almost become impossible to see ANY good or the bright side. I started to give up. I must THANK YOU for your encouraging words, I was forgetting that Our Father DOES LOVE me! I try to turn to my card making to slip away for a little while which is why I check your blog several times a day and just when I NEEDED it, the Lord has spoken to me thru you! Thank you Robyn and God Bless you. Now I KNOW where you get all your patience & energy from!

  59. Hi Robyn, Thanx for sharing your beliefs with all of us.I had drifted away from the Lord for quite awhile-long story but then I had to have brain surgery and my best friend who has been my friend for 45 yrs talked to me helped me to BELIEVE again. I know the Lord was with me the TWO Times I had this brain surg. I pray everyday and it is important to me as I am an R.N. visiting nurse and my elderly need to believe too. We talk about God all the time and they also help me to feel good. I do not have a church to worship at but I feel as long as you lead a good wholesome life and Believe in the LORD it is alright. I am so glad I found your site many months ago. I find your posts fun and refreshing.I remember when I wanted a break or take a nap some years ago when my kids were little. Glad you were only in a grumpy mood for a few min. You will be so surprised at how quickly time passes and how fast your children grow up. I am now a grandmother of 2 wonderful grandchildren that I am so greatful for.I wish now that I had the patience I have now years ago when my kids needed me to laugh instead of grumbling.Just a little story from me lol. God bless you and your beautiful family always and thanx again for sharing.gayle-rn@sbcglobal.net

  79. Love the churchy posts. I am glad you and your family were able to have a great day - I know it can be hard when we are faced with so many challenges every day - hard to remember to serve others, hard to make time for personal scripture studies, and all of the other things that come with walking in faith. Just know that you help me to try to be a better person when you leave posts like this one! Thank you for all of the fun things you do!

  80. I am glad that you have shared with us a little personal thought of yours. Churchy posts are great also. We all tend to lose track of why we are here. The real reason why we are here. It is to worship Him and only Him. I normally do not read long post but yours was very uplifting. I thank God everyday for giving me life and letting me wake up in the morning and breathe this fresh air we all share. Thanks Robyn for reminding us.

  81. I, like the others following your blog, love your Sunday posts. How nice of you to take the time to write all that--I know how busy you must be with 5 children, I only have one...a 4 year old. I enjoy your Sunday posts very much..makes me think what I too can do to be a better person and to help others more.

Something I am sooooooo grateful for everyday is my daughter. My husband and I were married 16 years before we had her. 16!! Doctors said after 3 years into our marriage to quit trying. We didn't give up just accepted our life the way it was; without kids. What a blessing, a miracle it was when we found out I was pregnant after so many years. What a precious gift GOD gave us and she was born on Dec. 7th and is the best Christmas gift, ever!!

A big thank you for doing what you do, Robyn. Have a great day! Denise L

I think your post was sweet and inspirational.

  86. I'm a Catholic and I think everything you said about God and living in him is true for all Christians no matter what religion we call home. It was very uplifting after being home with a sick child for almost a week now and feeling pretty pity for not being able to just get out. Thank you!

  87. Hi Robyn, I really enjoy your church posts. You are truly an inspiration to me. Even though you are super busy with your family and your business, you make time for others and most importantly for God. It motivates me when after a long week at work, I don't quite feel like getting up early to go to church. Thank you for reminding me how important it is to give of ourselves and help others.

  91. I love your posts, churchy or not. I believe if God put into your mind to post about him and what you learned at church then that is what you do.

  92. Oh, you just go ahead with the "churchy" posts, Miss Robyn!! I am Catholic, and our scriptures today reminded us to be the light of Christ to the world. I am inspired to do just that, and it is awesome to see other faiths, and what "they" are doing, also. Thanks so much for having the courage to share.

  95. Robyn thank you for reaching out to me today. I am a person with out a church and I miss it very much. I feel like my church lied to me and let me down. God didn't I feel his presents and gifts every day. I feel bad that the church has left me with a bad taste for religion and without a community I can trust. Your Sunday words are very good for me to read.
    Thank you,
    Hugs,
    Linda

  101. Nothing wrong with speaking about God! That is one of the reason this country is so screwy! People forgot The Maker!

Thanks for sharing about your scrapbooking pages. I have 3 kids now and I'm wondering if how I should go about it all... family albums or separate, and if I want to double/triple certain events! What important decisions! LOL!

  103. This is a great post.. Though I may not be "Churchy" I do believe in God and have a great respect for those dedicated to their Faith, it also gives me hope that one day I will find my way back into the house of God on a regular basis..

I can not believe how many scrapbook pages you have.. All of mine, well most of mine are without photos as well. What is "Power Scrapping"?

  105. Love your churchy posts! I too am a christian, do not belong to a church at the moment, but miss the fellowship. I enjoy reading about your daily life with your children and how you are bringing them up in a godly home. You are such a great role model; busy mom, businesswoman, church leader, friend, wife. I don't know how you find the time to do it all. You are such an inspiration to me and I enjoy reading your posts daily. Thanks for sharing your faith.

  114. Thank you Robyn for doing the thing you are sent out by God to do...spread the word.

We need more people to stand up and shout it out.

  121. Great post today Robyn! You are a lovely example of "Every member a missionary." I know that's not what you are trying to do, but I love how you aren't afraid to share your love of our Heavenly Father with everyone. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life, and the knowledge that we are all brothers and sisters here on earth. Thank you for your wonderful example!

  122. I would like you to know that even if it sounds churchy, it was really sweet to read! I'm not involved in any religion but agree that everyone has their right to believe or not believe however they like :) I think it's wonderful that you're so relaxed with yourself and your beliefs that you're able to share them. Thank you and take care, Robyn :)
