National Scrapbook Day Information!! Join us tomorrow!!

Hello Everyone!!
I have been so busy around here along with my awesome helpers, trying to get ready for My Pink Stamper National Scrapbook Day Activities!  It is going to be a day JAM-PACKED with challenges, videos, and giveaways!  Here are the basic details....
Saturday, May 1st from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm CST!
WHERE:  Here at www.mypinkstamper.com!!
CHALLENGES:  Everyone who submits a project (one per challenge please) will be entered into that challenge's giveaway.  There will be 12 throughout the day.
HOW TO ENTER:  All you need to do is upload your project on your blog or Photobucket (or a similar online photo storage website) and share the link ON the post where it says add yours, or something similar.  This is going to be a GREAT way to see what everyone else has come up with and an EASY way for me to choose the winners randomly after the deadline.
HOW LONG:  Well, the challenges will be posted every hour, on the hour beginning at 10:00 am CST and ending at 10:00 pm CST.  I am giving everyone until Monday night to join in, since some of you will not be able to make it to all of it tomorrow.  I will pick the winners on Tuesday, randomly.  I am not doing votes on the projects.  They are all going to be fantastic in my eyes because you are challenging yourselves.  :)
WHO:  Everyone is invited to join!  If you are at a scrapbooking event, let everyone know about the challenges.  The more the merrier!!!
WILL IT BE LIVE:  The entire day will not be live BUT I might do a Ustream Broadcast sometime on Saturday evening, in between challenges.  I will have to see if I am up to it.  NSD is soooo busy for me!
COMMENT:  Feel free to leave comments on the posts!!  We love comments!  The comments will not be part of the giveaway drawing since you have to post a project to be entered.  Comments are still wonderful, though!

Episode 205 - A Card for My BFF (Forever Young)

My Pink Designers Spring Treats!

It is time to hear from some of My Pink Designers.  This month Amy & Pam share their version of "Spring Treats".  I hope you enjoy!!

Recipe for my SPRING TREATS project

*Sweet treats Cricut cartridge, page 58-cupcake holder, “cupcake holders creative feature” button. I cut it at “fit to page” which was 11 inches. I also cut the scallop trim that goes with this holder, again at 11 inches. I adhered the scallop trim to the inside of my cupcake holder and used my white pen for the stitching.

*Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge, page 82-daisy1 flower, “shadow feature” button.

 I cut them at 1”…1 ¼”…1 ½”…and 1 ¾”. I had also cut this same flower on the “regular feature” using the same cut sizes. Next I ran all of the flowers through my Cuttlebug using the “Swiss dots” embossing folder. I then layered these flowers being sure to alternate the regular cuts and shadow cuts. I secured the flowers with a brad.

*Papers I used were DCWV-Pocket Full of Posies and DCWV-Flower Shower spring stack.

*The hanging tag sentiment “celebrate today” was stamped using My Pink Stamper Stamps-simply sweet occasions.

*Butterflies were cut from “Beautiful wings” embosslit by Stampin’ Up.

When I was thinking about what to do for this project I realized Mother's Day was coming up and wondered what my Mom would like. Her favorite candy is 'Good & Plenty' and they just happened to be the right colors I was looking for!  The flower was cut using the Forever Young cartridge and the leaves using the Give a Hoot cartridge.  All of the paper and ribbon is from PTI.  I also used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  On the container I used the My Pink Stamper's Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set which you can get at Custom Crops.  I used SU! punches for the tag.  I got the tin container from Specialty Bottle.

Scrapbook Sketch Challenge

Happy Sunday Everyone!!
I hope you are all having a terrific day!!  Church was wonderful and everything went well, except for the incident where my 3 year old delicately put his two hands on one of his teacher's cheeks, looked her in the eyes and said "You're Ugly!"  LOL!!  She was laughing when she told me.  We don't even think he knows what that means but he still got the "It's not nice to........ " talk.  :)
I am just sitting down to do some family history AKA "scrapbooking" and thought I would make it a challenge for anyone who wants to participate with me.  Here is a sketch I got off of http://www.kiwiscraps.com/TMS/page2.jpg.  It looks like a great 2 page layout to me!  If you are a card maker you can use one of the sketches for inspiration.  Just post a link of your project in the comments of this post.  I am not going to do a gallery call for this one since it is my "rest" day, and I am not really working on MPS stuff.  Just a fun challenge with all of you.  Here is the sketch, now go and be inspired!!!

Episode 204 - Ruff Day Cake

Hello my paper crafting friends!!!


I hope you have had a wonderful day and have a restful night!!  It has been a beautiful day here and my children have spent most of it playing outside on our new play set.  I am loving this time of year.  Of course, this time of year also means tornados!  We will be on Tornado Watch and Warning pretty soon here.  Yuck!!!
I made this cake for a friend of mine, who while running was bit by a dog the other day.  She was pretty upset about it so I thought I would make her something fun to help her laugh about it a little.  Hope you all enjoy!!!!

Marshmallow Fondant Recipe:
2 pounds powdered suger
3 Tbsp water
1 package of mini marshmallows
Put the marshmallows with the water in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time.  Mixing with a wooden spoon until well melted.  Will be very messy!!  Grease up your surface with vegetable shortening.  Put entire package of powdered sugar on that surface.  Pour melted marshmallows on top and knead it together.  It will be very messy and at times seem like it is not working.  Give it time and it will!!  

Episode 203 - Simple Wedding Card

Some of you might already know that my little sister is getting married next month.  I wanted to make a special and simple card for her wedding day.  I really think this is one of the easiest cards I have made so far but I LOVE how it turned out.  I hope you will enjoy it, too!

My Pink Designers Spring Treats!

It's Tuesday and you all know what that means, right?  It is time to see 2 of My Pink Designer's showcased with their Spring Treat's projects!  I think they turned out AWESOME!  I hope you all enjoy them, too!

Back to Basics is a One Inch Bag from the TBBM cricut cartridge. You can find this bag on page #128 of the cartridge handbook.

---cut at w11 x h5.75 inches using a Martha Stewart cardstock in kraft color.---the two shapes (called card 1) are from the sentimental cricut cartridge on page #65.
One is cut at w4.25 x h3.4 and the other one is cut at w4.5 x h3.5 inches. the brown shadow shape cardstock is from DCWV Green stack and the green color shape is from the paper studio/pink armadillo small stack.
---the back to basics phrase is also from the sentimental cricut cartridge on page #40 and cut at w2.5 x h3.5 inches.

 the shadow cardstock is an MS kraft cs again and the blue patterned paper is from colorbok/friendly forest. i used my white gelly roll pen from sakura to add some dot doodles to the letters.---the red flower is from the stamping solutions cricut cartridge, #20 on the overlay pad and cut at 1 inch.
---the green gem is from my stash, lol and the red dotted ribbon from american crafts. the whole project was inked and the flower was popped with foam adhesive.
---the small tags are from TBBM cut at 1.75-1.50 inches high and the sentiment and mini flower on them are from my pink stamper clear rubber stamps, simply sweet occasions set.

***************I also made this other bag called Shopping Bag and it is also from the TBBM cricut cartridge. You can find it on page #114 of the cartridge handbook.

---cut at w8.25 x h7 inches using another Martha Stewart cardstock, this time in a dark/navy blue.

---the three shapes are the cricut cartridge songbird from page 62 (it's called frame2). i cut these shapes/frames at: w3.79 x h 4.99; w3.55 x h4.68 and w3.39 x h4.47. I used three different cs/pp for them. The bigger size is a cs from k&co/amy butler...the solid red is from the paper studio and the one with the white background (which reminds of different colors bird nests) is from atd/candy blossoms small stack.

---the word chirp is also from the songbird cartridge and is cut at: w2.5 x 2 inches and the red base is cut at w2.76 x h2.21 inches.

---the birds are from a fiskars punch using dcwv glitter cardstock. two of the birds are popped up with two different sizes of foam adhesive...one is a bit higher than the other. the green chirp was again outlined with cricut markers for more definition.
---the small tags are from TBBM cut at 1.75-1.50 inches high and the sentiments/mini flower on them are from my pink stamper clear rubber stamps simply sweet occasions set.

---the small bit of green ribbon is from american crafts again and the bronze color chain from somewhere in the house, lol.

---the whole project except the bag itself was inked. I love inking :) 

***my idea for this One Inch Bag is  to put some birdfood in it and give it also as a Spring Treat Gift for the backyard birds. You can modify and embellish this one too for any other season/holiday as needed.

Using my Gypsy, I welded the ice cream cone border from DoodleCharms to a rectangle from George to create a card base about 4.25" x 6". Then I used digital gingham paper from Pink Petticoat to create a "liner" for my card. Next, I cut two more borders ... one from light brown cardstock and one from white cardstock. I embossed the light brown cardstock with the Herringbone embossing folder and my Cuttlebug; for the white border, I snipped off the cones and used the white tops as the highlight behind the ice cream. I adhered these to the base using an ATG gun.

I cut the layers from cream, dark brown, pink and red cardstock. To add a little dimension, I inked the edges of the ice cream layers and cones with Stampin' Up markers. I adhered the layers to the card with pop dots, using thinner pop dots for the chocolate cone. For a little bling, I added Stickles to the cherries and the ice cream highlights.

The sentiment is a stamp from My Pink Stamper's Everyday Occasions set, stamped with brown ink.

For the inside, I added a little ribbon, then, using a 2.5" x 4" piece of gingham paper and the slit punch from Stampin' Up, made the gift card holder (adhered with ATG gun).

Hope you like this ... now I'm ready for some ice cream!

I hope you are having a fabulous day so far!!  I am super excited today because our new play set is being built in the backyard.  Our oldest daughter is 12 and this is our first play set.  We are sooooo happy!!!  My kids cannot wait!

For this month's project, I created a spring themed layout. I used the Create a Critter cartridge for the chick, egg, flowers, grass, and So Sweet saying.  My Pink Stamper's "Everyday Occasions" stamp set was used for the butterfly and the "Simply Sweet Occasions" set was used for the "hi!".  The egg was jazzed up by adding Stickles in Orange Peel and Grape. The punch used on the orange photo holder was Martha Stewart's pansy edge punch.

As spring slowly emerges from the cold, dreary weather it feels so good to feel the warm air and slight breezes. Spring brings new life. We see the the leaves comes back, the grass becomes green and the flowers bloom. That warm feeling inside makes you remember all the fun and happy moments of last year filling you with anticipation for all the wonderful things to come. Just as new life emerges we hope for a fresh start to our lives. When I see the signs of spring, the most important thing I remember is to live life to the fullest - Live, Laugh, Love.
