I bet you didn't think I would be on here today since it's Sunday. Our church has been cancelled due to the ice/snow on the ground. A lot of you know that I don't normally do anything My Pink Stamper related on Sunday if I can help it. I have set aside this day for family, faith, & friends. That got me thinking .........wouldn't it be great to do a special kind of challenge. A challenge where we are giving of our talents? This is what I am thinking.....
Create a card or project and be prepared to GIVE IT AWAY! If you are making a card, actually write a note to someone, seal it, address it, and be ready to send it tomorrow. If you are making a goodie bag, deliver it this week.
Here are card ideas..... *Cards for troops *Someone who is sick *Someone who needs a lift *A new mother *Your mom or dad, brother or sister *Your husband or wife
*Your children
*Your neighbor
Let someone know what they mean to you. We are in the business of making cards but how often do we remember to send them out?? That is why we began in the first place, remember?
Okay, once you get your project or card done we would love to see it! Post a link in the comments here. If you have time to make more than one, do it!!! Lift someone up this week!!
Okay, here is my 3rd and final challenge for the weekend. I hope you will all be able to participate!! Just leave a link to your project in the comments of each post.
The machine that I used to grind the wheat is called a Whisper Mill but I prefer the newer type of wheat grinder called the Nutrimill.
The machine that I used to make & knead the bread is called a Botsch.
You can get these along with the dough enhancer, wheat gluten, pans, and bags I used from www.pleasanthillgrain.com.
Here is the ingredients for the bread recipe.....
Add 3 1/2 cups warm water, 1 1/2 Tbsp yeast, and 1 Tbsp honey in a mixing bowl. Mix together and then let sit for 8 minutes.
Add 2 cups white flour, 2 cups wheat flour, 1 egg, 1/4 cup oil, 3/4 cup honey, 2 tsp salt, 2 tsp dough enhancer, 2 tsp wheat gluten to the mixer and mix together.
Add 5-6 cups wheat flour until the dough pulls off the side.
Knead in the machine for 8 minutes.
Separate into 3 loaves and add them to greases pans.
Let rise on the counter or in a warm oven until doubled.
Yes, we are still ice/snowed in here and are still FREEZING!! This morning I had to wear a coat, hat, and scarf to make breakfast. Good thing we have heat upstairs in the kids' rooms and My Pink Loft. Yaaaaa!!
We are on Challenge #2. Thanks for the idea!! It was sent to me yesterday when I was asking for requests. The Pink & Black was also a suggestion, so thank you for that one, too!!
~~:::::::Make something that is warm or Springy!!!::::::~~~
Pull out your Life's a Beach cartridge or something with flowers and create something that will help me forget about this cold!!!
Don't forget you can also still participate in the first challenge, too. Here is the link....
I am stuck at home today (2nd day in a row) due to an ice/snow storm and I thought it would be fun to do some challenges today and tomorrow. Here is our first one.
If you would like to join us, post your project on your blog or on a picture hosting site, then leave a link in the comments on THIS post.
~~~~~~:::::::::Here is our first challenge:::::::::~~~~~~~~
Make something using your favorite color WITH black. So, you know that I will be making something using Pink & Black. What will you be using????
Have fun!! I will post challenge #2 in a little bit. Feel free to join in on the challenges at any time or next week or whenever!
*Thank you to everyone for your support. Of course you know this is not one of my craft videos but just part of my CHA journey. I cannot believe I have filmed over 170 craft related videos! That is just crazy. Hope you enjoy those, too. :)
Thank you to everyone who made all of this possible. I feel like I am living my dream while still being able to be a mommy to my 5 children. We are so thankful for all of you!!
I wanted to make sure I posted this before it got buried in all the CHA hype!! I just picked our winner to receive From My Kitchen donated by Provo Craft.
Gail said... Have a great time in California! Say dry Gail
Congratulations Gail!!!!! Just e-mail me with your mailing address!!!!!
A group of us had a chance to go out to dinner tonight after CHA at Bubba Gumps. Jim Colby from Provo Craft also attended but little did he know what a group of women would be capable of when they want Cricut cartridges!!!!
I just finished making 8 of these for some friends I am meeting up with at CHA (don't tell Karlee, okay??) I am super excited about CHA besides the fact that I am demoing LIVE at Provo Craft's stage both Friday & Saturday. That is in addition to having my very own booth!!! Things are going to be crazy and I am super nervous but I feel all of your love & support so I know that everything will turn out just fine. Right???
I hope you enjoy this video!! I am going to put together a couple more for you to enjoy as I head off to California!!
Some of you do not know this but I have a fan page over on Facebook that is different than my regular page. I added it a little over a month ago as a suggestion from everyone. I am 1 person away from 2000 fans. Here is the link if you would like to join. This is where I post daily "doings" of My Pink Stamper and what is coming up. :)
I grew up on this recipe. My mom would make it for me every year on my birthday and if I had a special request. Takes a while to make but soooo worth the wait!!!
The day is quickly approaching for my Pink Pajama Party LIVE from CHA! It is Friday, January 22nd at 9:00 PM PST. I hope you will all tune in and join in on all the fun!! I'm so excited to announce my sponsors for that Live Broadcast!
It was unavoidable but the stomach flu bug did hit our house! So far someone has been sick every day including me. My kids all seem to be better but I am still just a touch under the weather. Yesterday I spent the day sleeping and it was WONDERFUL!! With 5 little children I hardly find the time to take a nap but I slipped one in and even got to bed by 9 pm last night. Hopefully we will all be completely well by tomorrow.
This coming Thursday I will be leaving for CHA (www.chashow.org) in California where I will have my own booth (1021). Stop by and visit me for a free make & take if you plan on attending! I have some exciting news that I will announce at CHA and also on Friday, January 22nd LIVE on my blog at my Pink Pajama Party that will be broadcast from my hotel room. Karlee and the girls from Custom Crops will also be there with us. We will have lots of fun goodies to give away and lots of stuff to share! You will not want to miss it!!!
I do plan on uploading some videos this weekend and next week. Now that I am pretty much prepared for CHA I can do some fun things for My Pink Stamper! Yippee!!!
I hope you are all having a fabulous week and have something fun planned for this weekend!!
I am so saddened by the news of the devastation in Haiti right now due to the earthquake. My heart and prayers go out to them. I am adding a link to the Red Cross if anyone would like to donate. There are other places you can donate through, as well.
I hope you are having a fantastic day! I have gotten so much done, in terms of laundry! LOL!! Also, I was able to film a quick video tutorial. I hope you enjoy it! I have been making these mailboxes for 3 years now and have never filmed one episode on them. It was about time. Plus, Target had the cutest color pink this year. It actually is the same color as my walls in My Pink Loft!!!
For this project I also used Peachy Keen Stamps. I love working with these faces for the Paper Doll cartridges! They are super awesome!!
Supplies used:
*Peachy Keen Stamps PK-560 Dolly Dumplins Face Assortment Package
I woke up this morning and all my children are well, thank goodness. My 3 year old did have a case of the 24 hour flu but, thankfully, nobody else has got it.
Here is our winner for the Sweethearts cartridge donated by Provo Craft.
