Episode 250 - Cricut Cake Mini Cake!

Good morning everyone!!

I just got back from my first session of physical therapy.  I actually really enjoyed it and can already tell that it is helping (in just 2 hours!!)  Wish me luck that I can get this stinkin' heel/foot/leg healed soon!!  I am dying to dance around My Pink Loft but it hurts.  :(

I am going to have to postpone My Pink Imagine-Nation Wednesday until next Wednesday.  I have a Mac so I am still waiting on an update for that.  Hopefully that will be really soon!  I'll let you know when it is available.

In the meantime, I thought I would play with my new Cricut Cake Mini!  You can view other videos I have made with the Cricut Cake under the video along with a comparison chart for both machines.

Hope you enjoy this one!  I used Cake Basics & Pink Journey on my Mini Cake!!

 Marshmallow Fondant Recipe:

2 pounds powdered suger

3 Tbsp water

1 package of mini marshmallows

Put the marshmallows with the water in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time.  Mixing with a wooden spoon until well melted.  Will be very messy!!
Grease up your surface with vegetable shortening.  Put entire package of powdered sugar on that surface.  Pour melted marshmallows on top and knead it together.  It will be very messy and at times seem like it is not working.  Give it time and it will!!

  5. Great! Now I am SO hungry! I have to go have an eating break for sure!

Great job with the new mini! I definitely could have used it the other day as I went over to a friend's house and had to lug it over there! ... All to find out that I had forgotten my Gypsy and therefore my carts! It was awful. But none the less, this would have come in handy for sure and I think it's a great idea!

  52. Great to see how it works, I have just got the Circut Cake, early days yet for using it but have managed a couple of samples from it not decorated a cake yet but hope it won't be too long before I do. Having a little trouble with the fondant getting a bit too warm so have tried putting it in the fridge/freezer for a while seems to work ok but it is very much trial and error at the moment.

  68. Very nice cake...looks like it cut well for you. Great job!

  69. Fun cake! Just wanted to leave you a quick tip. I make my marshmallow fondant in my kitchenaid mixer. Just spray the bowl and dough hook attachment with cooking spray first. Pour in your melted marshmallows, sugar and I add a half stick of crisco. It makes the job so easy! Oh, and if you level your cakes (cut off the rounded tops) before you put them together, you will lose some of the hamburger feel! Love your site and all your creative ideas!
