Countdown to Karlee Day 4
Hello again Everyone!!
Can you all think of something you can do for someone else today?
What I have done is gone through all of my scrap paper in My Pink Loft so that I can donate it to an after school craft program. I challenge you all to find something you can do for someone else today. :)
For the project I made, I used Doodlecharms for the birthday hat, My Pink Stamper Everyday Life for the sentiment, and the Cuttlebug for the embossed background.
I made the hat using the Cricut Imagine. Click HERE and scroll down to see the Video Tutorial I made showing how to do it.
For my giveaway I have a My Pink Stamper Everyday Life stamp set for one lucky viewer!! Just leave a comment below on what you have done as a random act of kindness in the past. If you are new to my blog, take a minute to look around, subscribe (if you'd like), and get inspiration.
Don't forget to check out what My Pink Designer's made today as well by clicking HERE!
For today's challenge, make something that you would like to give as a RAK or RAOK to someone. Just post it below!!

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 405 Newer› Newest»Very cute! I love the colors! TFS

Robyn how sweet of you! ;) I'm inspired to do something within my community as well. Something I've done in the past is make cards for a fundraiser and always being available when needed. Thanks for another great opp!
Hi Robyn. I like to donate my extra supplies to the Children's Hospital. The Scrapbook Store I regularly shop at, Treasured Memories in Edmonton, take these donations for us, making it much easier. Thanks again for the give away!! RAOK-I have sent flowers to my Mom for no reason!! blstern@airsurfer.ca
So cute Robyn. I love sending random things to friends just because. Or leaving something on a co-workers desk just because they're having a bad day!
Great blog hop. This is kind of silly but I like to leave coupons on the store shelves next to items that I am not going to use. Who doesn't want to use a coupon and save some money?! And yes, I do this at Joann's and Michael's too.... :)
michelegreen120 at gmail dot com
I gave all my scrap paper and craft supplies to a missionary working with a children's home. She said they LOVE creating with all the supplies! Off to make a RAK now!
What a sweet card! Normally i bake for the neighborhood kids: cookies, cupcakes, breads, just because. But today my daughter and I are taking old blankets to our local animal shelter. She is excited about that!
Thanks for sharing your blog ideas!

I know there is a group of ladies that send card to the soldiers...I hope to get involved in that.

I am not sure if it qualifies but I did make some Boo Bags for my nieghbors. I thought it would be fun to start in our neighborhood this year.
Super cute card as always Robyn!
Robyn,
I love to send cards and give them away to my friends who do not do crafts. They love this and usually I end up giving them more than one. I recently took them to the Hospital and gave them to the nurses aids which are such great people and are so dedicated........
E-Mail: davidbayles@sprintmail.com
We worked with the kids in our church and made cards for a nursing home. I've also given a ginormous box of scrapping goodies to the teachers (need to get another box started this year). Love your blog!
Sweet card! Something in the past I've done is anonymously leave some new Barbies on the doorstep of some little girls going through tough times.
very cute card :-) The day after a holiday I offered to help a co-worker get caught up before I left to deliver mail (the mail was HORRENDOUS!). It was definitely the least I could do!
That is a cute card. My goal next year is to make cards for Operation Write Home. I never thought to go through my scraps and giveaway, I have scraps. Thanks for the idea

Robyn,
Thanks so much for participating in the RAOK blog hop! I love what you're doing for your RAK/RAOK, so many of us have lots of paper we could donate to art clubs/schools/day cares. That's a GREAT IDEA! I hope everyone has a terrific time hopping today. Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone who hopped brought a little extra happiness into the world today? :) I love thinking about that.
I love your card!
Super Hugs,
~Joy~
That is so nice of you to donate all of those scraps to an after school program! I like to pick names from the giving tree during Christmas and grant a couple of the childrens wishes!

I bake for my husband to take to school or work and share with everyone. And I send out the random "Just Because" cards to family and friends.

Hi Robyn,
I donate stickers and scrapbook supplies that I am no longer using to my friend's school. She is a teacher and she uses the supplies to make projects with her kids.

I recently cleaned out my entire stash of supplies and gave two huge bags away to someone who loves to craft, but doesn't have the funds for it right now. It felt great!

I sometimes help out with our firehouse, which I will be this wkend your card is super cute thanks for sharing Debbie @http://craftydeb-ddscrafts.blogspot.com/
Thanks Robyn for everything you do. I love looking at your projects. I get such inspiration. When I'm going into the grocery store and see someone whose finished loading their car, I ask if I can take their cart for them. That way they don't have to find the cart rack--especially if they are parked in the handicapped spots or have children to load into the car

Love the card. :)
My random acts of kindness have been buying things for people I know that they need (mostly clothes for the kids) and I'll put them in their car or set them on their seat at church so they don't know where they came from. Hee hee.

I love to make things for my friends..I always let them know first I'm sending something, but I don't tell them what..its just to let them know I'm here for them always even if they live 700 miles away from me :)

This is a nice hop! I do RAK to others in many ways. It's nice to know that there are a lot of folks out there with big hearts.

Being that I am a scrapbooker I always have leftovers of some kind whether ir be embelishments or paper. I work in a Long Term Care Facility where there is an adult day program and I am always contributing to their crafts by bringing in the items I don't feel that I will use. In the end I get to see the projects that the elderly make!

What a wonderful ideal for a RAK. I am seriously thinking about donating my Baby Bug to a school since I don't use it as much now. Thanks for inspring like you always do!!!
Hi Robyn,
Great idea! Something I've done in the past was that I sent a simple care package(canned soup, crossword book, footie slippers, small box of chocolate and a handstamped card) to an older woman we regularly sit next to at church that had some minor surgery. The package was there when she got home and although I thought it was simple stuff, she was thrilled and touched to receive it and it was unexpected. She left the sweetest message on our machine that I've saved for over a year...it is true that giving is the true blessing!
Thanks,
Ramona B- jbmb@comcast.net
I like the card and LOVE RAOK! I just made 4 football cards for a lady in my ward to give to her sons' coaches. We live in a small town and she couldn't find a masculine card at our local store, so she called and asked me if I could make some cards. I didn't take pictures (strapped on time), but I was happy to do it! Thanks for a chance Robyn! :)
well I have friend who's church does fundraisers to raise money for there church and I make treat bags and different things for them to sell and help raise money for there church.
very cute card!
lavenderangel@centurytel.net
i love doing random acts of kindness!! I mostly love to send random thinking of you cards or i will surprise my hubby by mowing the lawn for him :)
I used to homeschool my daughter so I had tons of manipulatives for teachers. I took it all over across the street to a small private Christian school. They absolutely loved the stuff and have passed it on to the teachers.
What a great idea! I love to use every scrap so I know this gift will be much appreciated by those kiddles. I do at least 100 cards a month for the Operation Write Home project and love doing this. Thank you for the opportunity to win some great blog candy!
Hey Robyn,
I was for a year sending a card monthly to a teacher's wife who lost her battle this summer to cancer. I continue to send the Husband periodicly a card to let him know I'm still praying for his family. I never got the priviledge to meeting his Wife.
Your card is so cute! Thank you for sharing! One of the most recent things I have done was for one of my daughter's co-workers. His wife and one of their daughters were very sick and they have a new baby so I made them a whole dinner. I know how hard it is when you have no family close and you just need a little help.
I took my Cricut to the elementary school and made bulletin board decorations for the teachers all day. I supplied all the card stock. All the teachers had to do was going thru the books and decide which image they wanted. I really enjoyed the whole day. papermemories4u at yahoo dot com
Yesterday I brought to my son's elementary school 9 DCVW full or mostly full 12x12 paper stacks. They were older and taking up too much room. The Art teacher was ecstatic.
Great idea, Robyn. The latest RAOK that my husband and I have done is give our children's former youth leader and monetary gift. We hid it under some homemase cookies I knew his family especially liked. It always feels good to help someone else out.
Thanks for all you do!
~Saundra :)
That's a great idea to give your scraps away. Cute card too. My fiancé volunteers on the board for Habitat for Humanity. I will go with him when I project needs to be done and they can't get enough volunteers to help out.

Love the colors in the card. I have in the past volunteered to clean house for people who are going through hard times, or provided meals. I know when I am overwhelmed or in a bad time in my life, those are things I need the most help with.

One of the funnest things I have done is the 12 days of Christmas for a family that was in need. It was so rewarding.
mjhunter84@gmail.com
Cute card! In the past I have brought food to our church for the local food bank. Tonight I am going to support mexico missions by bringing things that can be used for weddings in the Mexico churches!
Such a wonderful idea! Love the card, its super cute! Not that long ago we put together a huge collection of mildly used shoes and sent them to Haiti. This was because of the huge earthquake they had.
I don't normally talk about such things... but my best friend needed a car when we just got out of college to go visit her husband who was in the Police Academy. It was 2 hours away and she was in med school so it would have been nice to have two cars. I shipped her my car so they could see each other more often. I didn't need it and live in the city so I just gave it to her. It really helped them out and I have never regretted it for a minute.

How thoughtful of you to donate your scraps! I went through my patterned paper a while back and donated about 1000 sheets plus other supplies that I was no longer using to the children's hospital here.

My friend's son turned 12 a couple of weeks ago and our ward does youth temple baptisms every month. I volunteered yesterday to take her baby and drive her other 3 kids to their various after school activities so she could go with her son for his very first time doing baptisms in the temple. I think I got way more out of the experience than she did - which is always the case when I help someone else out! Thanks for the opportunity Robin!!

Honestly I try and do one RAK everyday! I live by the philosophy of when I die I want people to say about me "She was the nicest and kindest person I know". In high school I was awarded student of the year for Kindness, Caring and Consideration :D Very proud of that!
I love leaving things I have made for people on their doorsteps as a surprise - just out of the blue.
Thanks!

Thanks for reminding us that random acts of kindness can go a long way in making a difference. I love to leave gifts for my neighbors; usually holiday related and homemade of course!
Robyn, my youth group recently spent the day going from project to project dong whatever was needed. I got to help paint the office of a new doctor coming to town. He is going to work with low income families:) It was really fun! Then I pulled weeds for a single mom family! She was really grateful. We worked all day really hard and LOVED every minute of the day.
Thanks for all you do too! I clean out my closet and give my clothes away pretty often:) I never sell them.

My husband and his coworkers have (what i would think) a high risk job. I sometimes like to make cookies or a little snack of some kind to send with him to work. I know its not much, but its in hopes that it helps makes their day and jobs less stressful, no matter how small.

I was just on the phone with someone talking about a Mission's Night coming up and she was talking about how life has been really rough lately with her mother's health. Waht makes it rougher is when we try as moms to keep life "normal" for our kids. I decided I would pick up her daughter and take her with me to Mission's night so her daughter could have fun making projects for local mission groups. The mother began to cry she was so grateful but you know what I feel like I am on cloud 9 right now because I get the honor of helping them out and in turn see her daughter help out others. Life is good!!!!

Cute card as always....A friend of mine had been in a big car wreck...and was in the hospital in a town a few hours away, for a few weeks...we were going on vacation so...I stopped there in to see her and brought her a big huge box of cookies she could share with the doctors and nurses taking care of her. She is the most giving and thoughtful person ever, so I knew she would want to do something for those taking care of her.
i got someone two stamps they have been wanting but had no money to buy them cause they are out of work makes you feel good to pay it forward for sure.

Hi Robyn,
Very cute card! I have knit or crocheted baby hats and booties in random sizes. When there is a significant amount, my SO has dropped them off at one of our local hospitals. They always get so excited to see what is in the boxes and start going through them before he has even left!
Thanks for the giveaway!

I like paying for the person's food that is behind me in the drive-thru line... a nice treat! :)
I recently moved into a new house and wanted to weed out all of my craft supplies. I gave 5 large UHAUL boxes full of paper, cardstock, stickers, embellishements and other crafts to my local school art program. They were so excited and I felt good that the supplies would get used by someone.
Robin, For the random act of kindness I gathered every piece of fabric I own ( and have not used in over a year) and called the Quilt Guild of Indianapolis. I donated 6 HUGE boxes so they can make quilts for the homeless people. They invited me to come along and help!
This felt so good, so I then gathered up all my extra craft supplies I never use, Like templates and decorative scissors, and gave it all away to the little girls across the street. They were AMAZED at the loot! I am not sure mom was as excited, but the girls will play for hours during the cold Indiana winters
I Love RAKS.....so a friend of mine who says she never gets anything good in the mail....I make her a card for every occiasion and just send it to her and she loves them all

very cute card, When we moved south I had so many childrens' books from my children(grown now) they didn't want them for their children so I contacted one of the elementary schools and donated them to distribute how they saw fit. I had four large boxes full.
How kind of you to send all that extra paper to the school. As a teacher, I can tell you that they will totally appreciate it.
I am actually doing a RAK on my blog right now. I won a contest, and am sharing my winnings with my subscribers. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful crafters that bring me inspiration and joy. Hi Robyn~
I am a fellow follower, love your site and all your ideas!
What fun on your RAK, I did that about 2 months ago, my sister home schools a group s kids, and I sent truck load (for real) of scrapbook & craft items to them, being a Girl Scout leader for 9 years, you build up on the crafts!

One year I knitted Christmas stockings and filled them to send to soldiers overseas. Now I crochet and knit squares for an organization who puts them together to give wounded soldiers in military hospitals. I also make squares to send to Africia to make afghans for orphans. It is rewarding to do for others. Thanks for all you do.barbara614@insightbb.com
Our family likes to leave various things on peoples door step. Easter eggs with thoughts and candy inside for Easter, gifts at Christmas, cookies just because and so forth. My kids have done their friends too. It really makes them enjoy doing things for others, even if no one knows they did it.

Hi Robyn! Looking forward to seeing you and Karlee together again...maybe even a ustream....:o)
I actually just donated a bunch of my sons toys to the Christmas charity through my older boys H.S. they take slightly used toys and wrap them up and give them to the needy children in our area..... My youngest had a brand new bike which he only road twice.... he does not like riding it sooo they got that and were thrilled to see a bike that looked brand new... :o) Of course we take care of our kids toys so they all looked brand new... I know some little boys in town will be very happy come Christmas time! :o)

I feel that my whole life has been a calling to help others. I served in the military as a hospital corpsman, a Labor and Delivery nurse for the last 17 years, and served as a Girl Scout leader for 6 years teaching others how to serve the community. My nmber one calling though is thru my church and God. It is such a good feeling when you donate your time and helping those who are less fortunate. Thanks Robyn.

I tell my children that they should always help others but like my daughter pointed out - it feels so good when someone is thankful that it almost feels like your doing something nice for yourself. One thing that I do that makes me feel great is helping the elderly and disabled load their packages in to their cars in the parking lots. They are so thankful and that makes me happy!
Love the card Robyn. I wish I had the imagine. But I am saving for it. Looks like alot of fun.
I'm making cards for my grandsons fundraiser at his school. All the sales go to local children in need.
I saw you make this, and it's adorable Robyn. What a great idea to gather up your scrap to give to a school. hugs
I think that card is so cute. It is sweet of you to donate your scraps. I have done the same in the past with paper that I know I will never use. I think we have all collected some ugly stuff over the years and some pretty hideous paper can be beautiful through a child's eyes.
I tend to try and lend a hand whenever it's needed around my community. Yesterday, a mom was stuck for a ride home for her son. I offered to bring him home. Just little things everyday. My kids reach out through girl scout projects, supporting out troops and K-kids through their schools.

It's so funny that you ask this question today. Yesterday, I e-mailed my son's kindergarten teacher, and asked if she would like some crafting supplies. She was so happy! I sent in a big box of stuff, as well as offered use of my cricut anytime she needed it. It was a great lesson to show my son that giving to others is one of the most important parts of life, and not just during the holidays but everyday!
Thats a lot of scrap paper! haha! Super nice and I'm sure they'll really find it handy! The card you made today gave me a lot of inspiration! I'm making a birthday card for my new mother-in-law (I just got married) Thanks again!!

Very cute card. I am making treat bags for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas to give to our local meals on wheels to deliver along with their holiday meals.
I donate my cakes to charities for auctions, such as Relay for Life. I lost my grandma to cancer and this is a way I can honor her and help out.

That is so cute. And that's tons of perfect scraps i know the kids will love it.
Right now I am making some scrap kits and pages to donate to my aunt to sell at a craft fair to raise money to enter the 3 day walk.
I love RAKs and when I see an opportunity I try to cease the moment and do something nice for someone else. Something very simple that recently happened was when I was in the grocery store, there was a woman who was struggling to reach things on the shelves, so I helped her to reach things down from the top shelf. This is something simple that we taller people can do. It's amazing how many people will just pass someone who is struggling.

always doing radom acts of kindess, well im one of those few people left in the world who will let someone with a few items go ahead of me in line at the grocery store, but are most reason big random act of kindness we saw a young kid about 18 or 19 hitch hicking about 80 miles from our town, and we are in california so helping hitch hickers is not common, but we took him to his friends house that actually wasnt far from our house and while taking him we asked how long he was waiting and he said 3hrs he was hitch hicking his way back down from a church retreat, he said his parents were to busy woking tot ake him and pick him back up.

I know someone with a special project for our military. She is asking for blank homemade Christmas cards so the soldiers can sign them and mail them to their loved ones. I made 10 Christmas cards and mailed them to her on Tuesday.
But it doesn't stop there. She also asked for homemade cards for other occasions so the soldiers will have them throughout the year too. I plan to make some birthday cards and mail them to her too. I commend her for taking on this project and I'm glad to help her. This is the least I can do for our military.

Robyn, Once a month I get together with a group of women and we make cards for a non-profit support group called Bereaved Parents of the USA to send out to families to commemorate the birthdays and memorial anniversary of their deceased children. This past year I donated a big box of my scraps and embellishments to a group who puts on a carnival called Camp to Belong, which reunites siblings separated in the foster care system. The scrapbooking supplies were used by the children to decorate picture frames for the photos taken of them and their siblings.

I am one of the teachers who got pink-slipped (layed 0ff), but I still like to stay involved in my local school and help out my fellow teachers, so I often volunteer my time in the classroom. This is such a "Rewarding Act of Kindness", haha!

Before I got sick i would go back to my old elementary school and read to the kids.
Also just went through all my cothes and took a garbage bag of clothes i don't wear anymore to a local shelter. Also spent about 2 years as a volunteer at a local health center and with all the new babies that would come in.

I love your site. I am teaching my Pastor's daughter to scrapbook and learn to use her imagination.
I always donate household items I dont use anymore to the Airmans Attic. Service people can pick them up and use them without cost. Early in my husbands career it saved us a few times. Especially when moving to a new base and your household items were still in storage.
Love your blog....

Awaiting my new (MY Pink Stamper) stamps i recently ordered. Yes 6 sets, just not this one, so would love to have it for my collection)
Robyn, so awsome of you to do this, and encouraging the rest of us to do it as well. Also saw this on Joy's blog as well. I am planning on making a card for my Starbucks ladies, since they are so friendly and often start my beverage, the minute I walk in the door. My husband and I just got a new computer this weekend,so I want to donate the old one to a nonprofit or school.

A previous RAK for me was a day when the boys and I were heading to my mother in laws, I had stopped at MCD;s to pick up some lunch for us, and as I was leaving there was a woman begging...asking for food or diapers. It just so happened that I had some pull ups that we had no need for anymore in the car. I asked if those would work and she said they were perfect because her daughter was just beginning to potty train. It made me feel good that I helped.

I am taking care of my older brother today while his wife travels across the state to move daughter back from college. Awesome sibling time!
This hop was such a wonderful idea. You have all contributed so much and it is such a wonderful and thoughtful idea. We all need a little reminder of how important it is to practice Raok. I have had my eye on your dvds for a while now and I love your stamp set. Thanks for all you do here in the crafting community. That in itself is a Raok.

Thanks for the chance to win thestamp set, I am going to go through my closet and donate it to the good will.
As always, love your projects!! Thanks for being a part of this special blog hop! I don't know if this act is considered a RAK, but ever since we had a stillborn son in 1995, my husband and I have looked in the newspaper in the obituaries section to see if there are other families who are going through this kind of tragedy, and we get in touch with them, even if it is through the funeral home, so that we can write them a letter or send them a card to let them know that they can contact us even if they just need to talk. Every card we have sent has been very well received. We just want to let them know that we have been where they are and we want to help them get through this tough time. Blessings to you and your family, Robyn!!

every year between thanksgiving and christmas, we take our kids to the store and pick out someone who looks like they are having a hard time buying for their family and give them $50. our pastor challenged us to do it one year and we have done it every year since.
I cleaned out my closet and have taken clothes and shoes and given to the salvation army for the needy
What a great blog hop! Thanks for the chance to win.
Each year at Christmas I take about 4 or 5 cards off of the Church Giving Tree and buy things for the local Women and Children shelter. Many of the people there are victims of domestic violence and have left their home with little or no belongings.

Just the other day I donated some felt and a ton of felt letters to my daughters Kindergarten class along with some homemade little hand puppets for the class. Her teacher was so excited and when I picked up my daughter from school that day they were already playing with the puppets.

Robyn, love the idea. I too have given away older scrapbooking supplies. This past June our school did a day camp and one of the classes was a scrapbook class. I donated sooo much stuff they didn't have to purchase anything but glue sticks. The kids had a blast!

I like to give clothes to our church Clothing closet as often as I can.
I gave my original cricut to my niece who has been wanting one for a long time. She just recently lost her job because of the economy so a Cricut was not an option for her this year. She is so in love with the small cricut and it made me feel good that she would be able to get some good out of it.
