Happy Birthday Muffin

Yes, Muffin is our dog!  Yesterday Muffin turned 2 years old and my 10 year old daughter insisted that we have a party for our puppy.  Last year she actually talked me into bringing Muffin into her school on his birthday and also making individual doggie goodie bags for all of her classmates!  I did this for my son as well.  This year I promised myself I would not do that again!!  LOL!!  But..... after many tears I decided to go ahead and let her have her little family party right before bed.  I even bought some cupcakes for the family and had a special engraved name tag made for his collar.  Yes, I am a sucker for cute puppies!  Here are some of the highlights of Muffin's 2nd birthday because I know that he will remember them forever.  NOT!!  :)

Our 10 year old daughter, who kind of takes sole responsibility for Muffin, made this birthday poster for him.
 He sure loves his family!
 Awwwwwwww.  Aren't they sweet!?
My daughter made Muffin a special birthday card and even used my Punny-licious stamps!  So creative!
I think we even sang to him but I think I am trying to block it out.  LOL!!

Well, I am telling my kids this is the last of the parties but we will see!

how cute! Muffin looks just like my dog, Su. Aren't Shih-Tzus the greatest?

My puppy turned two this year too! If I had kids I think we would have totally gotten into it. Lucie did get some special treats for her big day though!

Happy Birthday Muffin, glad your home safe and sound to enjoy your day!

That's funny :) We used to have a pet turtle and we'd hang his stocking on his tank for Christmas. So we likely did a birthday party for him too

Your daughter looks exactly like you in the third picture!

We have 3 six year old dogs. We still celebrate birthdays. Two of our dogs were adopted from a rescue place so there birthdays are the day we rescued them. It is more for us than them, but they love the toys and food!!

So Robyn you really have six children. Having pets is like having more children in the house. You have to feed & clean up after them. I have four 2 year olds running around...did I mention they were Cats...lol..feels like my 3 daughters are still in the house. Cherish them while they are young.
Thanks for all you do.

How great is that?! I had a dog grooming business for over 10 yrs. The bond between humans and their pets is an amazing thing! My husband and I have 2 dogs one we rescued from the lake as a puppy. There is not a day that I don't thank God for placing her in our home! She makes us laugh! I'm so happy you celebrated it's a memory your family will remember forever!

CUTE! I love it. I totally threw my puppy a 1 year old birthday puppy playdate party with her two best doggie friends. They just ran around in a field and I made them "doggy bags" full of treats :)

You're not the only dork around ;)

I am sure Muffin loved the extra attention. Next month my Dauschund Scarlet will be 13 and I am giving her a party at the Vet clinic. The staff will have Chilli Hot Dogs and she will have a cake from the Dog Barkery. This is a way for me to thank them for all they do for her. But I think I will not have them sing Happy Birthday.

If I new when my dogs birthday was (he was a rescuse so I don't know how old he is or his birthday), I would go all out and have all of his 4 legged cousins over for Milk Bones and Frosty Paws!! LOL Those of us who have dogs, know they are just part of the family! I think it's great your kids have a party for him! :)

I love that you can celebrate it! My kids keep trying to convince me to get a dog. Why do I need a dog when they get into everything, and pee on the floor? I love that dogs get loved somewhere though. I hate the thought of them being lonely. Hope she had a great day.

I love it! My son use to write baseball player's birthdays on the calendar....we always were celebrating unusual birthdays or occassions at our house. I think that's what makes a family strong...being able to celebrate just for the heck of it...because it's meaningful to someone...I miss those days!

I think it's sweet how your daughter wants to have a party & the sign she made. Our pupster just turned 3 this past summer & my hubby insist on going to the specialty dog store & get him a yummy treat & toy. We also take him to this ice cream stand where they have pupcups (vanilla icecream with a milkbone). He is always the loudest dog there!

Our Shih Tzus love birthday parties! We always celebrate. Over the years we've had four Shih Tzus and all but one have been with us over fifteen years. Our present little lady is 16 1/2 years old. Shih Tzus are such a delight and how they love kids.

What a wonderful family tradition-even for the dog, who is part of the family. Muffin is just as cute as can be! We celebrate our pets birthdays as well, so glad to see you did too. Looking forward to seeing next years photos too! Thanks for letting us be a part of your family too, God bless, Patty
