Countdown to Karlee Day 1! (Video, Giveaway, Challenge)

Happy Monday Everyone!!

Karlee arrives next Thursday and I thought it would be fun to do a Countdown to Karlee until she gets here.  This week I am going to have a video, challenge, and giveaway for you EVERY DAY!  We will see what next week brings.  LOL!  I might be busy getting ready!

Okay, for this first challenge I want you to make something for someone and give it to them or send it to them.  I made some pumpkin, chocolate cookies (recipe listed below) for some new families in my church with simple little tags.  What will you make?  Just add it to the bottom of this post.

I used Everyday Life stamp set from My Pink Stamper and used the Welcome Baby stamp by just inking up the Welcome with black ink.  Super simple since they are clear!!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies (allrecipes.com)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Combine pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil, and egg. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Dissolve the baking soda with the milk and stir in. Add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture and mix well.
  2. Add vanilla, chocolate chips and nuts.
  3. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for approximately 10 minutes or until lightly brown and firm.

Today's giveaway will be an Everyday Life stamp set!  You do not have to enter the challenge to be included in this one.  Just leave a comment below on what you like to make as gifts for others using your Cricut!

Here is a video of missing outtakes from when Karlee has come to visit over the past year.  Hope you enjoy it!!

Recently I found these cute pink and blue piggy banks at the dollar store. For a baby gift I cut the baby's name and birthday and put them on the piggy. It looked so cute - people thought I spent a lot getting it customized but it probably cost me less than a $1.50 :)

I am having my niece over during her thanksgiving break to do holiday cards for family, she is putting her family christmas pictures and her most recent school photos in them, and we will be making Holiday pocket pies and giving out the cards at thanksgiving dinner. That way, we don't have to wait for our postal system to lose the cards like they did my wedding invites 2 years ago. (we live in a fairly small town, so when the holidays or another busy season comes along, you can expect to have your mail lost)

  132. These look great. I'm sure the families will love them. What I'm thinking of making for a few girlfriends of mine are some personalized notes cards with their initials on them so that they can use then to send and share with others in their circle. It's sort of a Pass-It-On... type of gift. My gift to them, their gift to someone else. I'll send you some pics when I finish them.

  154. Hi Robyn!
It's ALWAYS fun to see you guys together. The way you include all of us makes me feel like you're coming to visit me! I'm so excited!
I absolutely LOVE to make "handmade with love" greeting cards for friends & family. Since my Mom is quite ill, I've been making beaded Xmas ornaments with her as a form of therapy to give as Xmas gifts for the family. With my Expression,(can't figure out my Imagine, yet!)I'm making personalized "tags" as a header for each one (with a little hole on top to be used as an ornament too!) I can't seem to send you pix of them, but would love to. I would be THRILLED to win ANY of your stamp sets! PLEASE pick me!!

Well, my latest project is something I'm working on for the gals in my bowling league -- I have "snack" on Oct. 28th so I'm using the Mini Monsters cart and the new milk carton Bigz Die from Stampin' Up! to make a little treat box -- inside I'm going to put dark chocolate Hershey's Kisses (purple foil) and a bag of candy corn. I just made my first four monsters this afternoon before the schoolbus arrived!!!
