Middle School Lockers!!

This is just a quick post of the lockers we decorated for my 12 year daughter and her BFF.  My daughter LOVES to bake cupcakes so the top 3 pics are of her locker.  We were doing this for about 2 hours!!!

Traditions bring back so many memories. Not only of my school days but, my kids. Before I know it my grandkids will be going through the traditions( If they have lockers left when they get to middle school so many of our schools have gone away from the locker) Best wishes on a terrific first day to your daughter Smiles Mindy

OMG, these are so cute. I had to smile when I saw them b/c yesterday I went shopping with one of my boys--12 years old. I pointed out the locker items at The Container Store and he rolled his eyeballs at me. The letter from the school said that two kids would be sharing one locker with no divider or shelves so I suggested he pick out some organizing things. He said, "Mom, noone uses those things. It's just a locker." Good thing I have a younger daughter who at the age of 7 said, "I can't wait to have a locker to decorate!" There's hope yet.

Cute!..I remember my locker back in high school..it was covered in leopard print paper. Some people would even come up to it and feel it cause they thought I put fur on my locker. It was just paper..I loved that locker :)

I just may work up the nerve to take mine to school for that purpose! What a fun way to get the kids ready to go back for the fall!

Your daughter is taking after you. And her friend, too! Loved the photos. My locker, when I was a kid, never, ever looked any where near that good. Tell the girls to have a wonderful school year. Thanks for the post.

very cute me and my oldest daughter did something like this when she was in school miss the days.

suzyfunk said...

Oh boy! I love it, but as a middle school teacher, I am glad you took pictures...that will be the last time it looks that nice! For kids in the school where I teach, that is a rite of passage when you get to be 6th graders is decorating that locker...they don't go as crazy in 7th and 8th grade. Many of them wallpaper it, and it falls apart within weeks. (The wall paper is glorified wrapping paper!)

OK, talking about a cool and crafty mom! You win 1st prize. Every time they open their lockers they will remember how awesome you are and so will their friends.

What a great locker! So THAT is why she was cutting all the cupcakes when you showed us the photo of your scraproom! It looks great . . . she should be proud! How exciting to start the school year with a fun decorating project!

Anonymous said...

SO CUTE! But that'll be a PAIN to clean! Get her started soon when it's the end of the year!

I'm pretty sure your daughter has the cutest locker in school. She should have with all that hard work. (fun but work!!!)

Diane (AMKs_mom) said...

Super cute! And such a great idea. I will have to keep this idea in mind for my daughters lockers. They don't get theirs assigned until after school starts so we can't do a lot of decorating with them. But I'll bet they would love to cut some things out to make magnets and such for their lockers. Thanks Robyn!
