Episode 232 - Birthday Cake Card with Eyelets

Hello Friends!

I hope you are all having a great Tuesday evening! It has been such a crazy week already and it is only Tuesday!  Life is getting VERY busy with my children being involved in so many different things.  Good thing I have an iPhone this year where I can still keep up to date on my blog, e-mails, and Facebook while I am patiently waiting in the car.  :)

Here is a video I made today on using eyelets in your projects.  I hope you enjoy it!  I used Cricut Lite Celebrate with Flourish Cartridge for the cake and Everyday Life stamp set from My Pink Stamper Stamps.

Here is the what the full set of Everyday Life looks like.  You can check it out HERE on my Products page.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful card. Love your stamps. Wish there was a place to buy them from in Alberta along with that cute cart. For some reason we only have the same 4 lite carts all across canada and that isn't one of them. I want those new colours from SU for sure! Have a great night.

Cute card. My son is in pre-k this year as well as soccer and swim classes. I'm cherishing those 10 minute waits in the car at school. If only I could figure out how to take my scrapbooking in the car.

i too have strayed away from eyelets. i think that i will rummage through my stash & start using them again. & i love the video. the craziness & fun times of having kids is something that i cherish. thanks for the inspiration!!

I love that card and I like eyelets a lot. I need to get that setting tool :)

quirkygirl said...

I love the card - I too have the MM tool kit and the crop-a-dile. I prefer to use the tool kit as my crop-a-dile either doesn't set the eyelet enough or it totally mangles them. But after this video, I definately want to go into my "give-away stash" and "rescue" my eyelets.

This and that said...

Love this card!

Catherine said...

You and your son just cracked me up. It sounded like you were having so much fun. The card was cute as well.

Helen said...

I love that cake cut! The whole card is fabulous!!

Court said...

I was laughing so hard at the beginning - those giggles are contagious! Love this card! I've only ever had the crop-a-dile so I was excited to see it done "the old fashioned" way. Thanks so much!

patricia_hurst said...

Great card and I think I will try it. Thank you. Pat

Denise said...

very cute card. Thanks for the demo on eyelets. I have the crop-a-dile, but I don't think I use it right. I end up having to use a hammer too to get it flat all the way.

Such a pretty card, Robyn! I, too, forget to use eyelets! I think we get in the habit of using the same things, so thank you for reminding us to do something different and mix it up a bit!!!

Cute card! The big bite goes 6 inches in so it does the eyelets in the middle of pages. I like using my cropdile and big bite because when scrapping late at night it doesn't wake up the sleeping kiddos!

Amanda said...

Love the card!! I haven't had my eyelet setter out in ages! thanks for sharing!

Hey Robyn!

I was wondering for the eyelets you used and the technique (the old fashioned way--without the crop-a-dile), for the hammer you used...could you used any regular hammer? Also, for the "poker-thingy" (as you called it in the video) =), where did you get that? I have never used eyelets before and your video has got me more interested in them.

Thanks for the video.

I've never had much luck with eyelets so I use brads. They are much easier too.

Hey Robyn, That is a very cute card you made. I have to say that I'm glad you didn't edit out your son - he is adorable. His laugh is contagious. And, then when he told you "Good job", awwww that just melted my heart.

So, cute card, cute son, lol.

Isn't it funny how we change what we use all the time. I haven't used eyelets much this past year either! I guess I should switch it up occasionally from brad's to eyelet and back again! Thanks for the inspiration. I love your card!

Love the card so I went searching for the cartridge. To my dismay, I can't find one at any local Wal-Marts or at Wal-mart.com. If anyone reads this comment and knows where I can get one, please let me know.

I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area.

Thank you,
