Happy Father's Day and Scrapbooking!

Happy Father's Day to all of our daddy viewers and your fathers!  Today is a very special day in our family.  Usually we make breakfast in bed for my husband but today he had his LAST early morning meeting for church (since he just got released from his "calling" today in the Bishopric of our church).  Next year I promised to have a yummy breakfast in bed for him since he will be with us before we leave for church.   Since my father passed away when I was 21 years old I don't have a father to call or send a card to but I do have an AWESOME Father-in-law who my husband just got off the phone with.  I feel very blessed today.  I couldn't ask for a better husband and father to my 5 little children.  Yes, life is hectic, crazy, and LOUD most of the time but we get to go through it together.  :)

I also have been thinking a lot about scrapbooking this week and how much I have been neglecting it with everything else I have been doing on the side.  I have decided that I am going to start making it a priority again since my kids are getting older and they enjoy looking at their books and the family books.  It doesn't matter how long I take on each page and all I add to it.  The most important thing to my children is the pictures and the journaling I do on it.  So, watch for lots more scrapbooking from me.  Some I will have to keep just for my personal collection and not for my blog, though.  :)

Again, I hope you all have  great day today and are able to spend some time with your family.  If you don't have family close maybe you could make a card to send in the mail tomorrow or a quick phone call.  Thank you everyone for making this blog a place where I feel that I have many friends to share with.  You all are sooooo wonderful and I feel blessed to have you in my life.

  7. Thank you too Robyn! And, I agree, the scrapbooks are important. I do photo books on line because they are faster for me (I don't scrapbook, just card & project making) but, the longer it takes, you forget little details so, I agree, you need to make it happen. Enjoy!!!

  12. Not only did we celebrate Father's Day with my dad (who will be 86 in August), my wonderful husband of 26 years and my brother, we also celebrated my mom and dad's 63rd anniversary. I can only pray for a lifetime of love like theirs. As for scrapbooking, I really need to buckle down and get to work!

  27. Aw Robyn, thanks for sharing your heart. My father has also passed but I have a great father-in-law. Unfortunately this maybe his last Father's day. He has Stage 4 lung cancer that's already gone to his liver. He's 83 and my MIL has Alzheimer's and currently resides in a nursing home. :( But, They are both born again Christians and we have the joy of knowing that both love our Lord and will be safe in His arms. Happy Father's day to your hubby and FIL. cathy cmwirt at verizon dot net

  35. I have been in "scrapbook mode" for several weeks now - my girls are growing up sooo fast! And I am not really trying to "catch up", just "keep up"! My kids love to look through the albums, too, and my oldest has started scrapbooking with me some!

  36. I have been scrapin for over 10 years and now that my kids are older they LOVE looking back at all the pages remembering all the things they did when they were younger...To me this is why I scrapbook....for them to look back and say remember when....So keep those pages coming no matte how simple or how fancy..just get those memories on pges..
    thanks for a great blog...

  38. Roby,

Can't wait to see some of those scrapbook layouts! I don't really do cards and am always looking for layout inspirations. I try to keep my pages simple and I too think the photos and journaling are and should be the focus.

    Have a great day

  41. I, too, am behind in scrapbooking as I have been concentrating on the Cricut and card making. I am in charge of scrapbooking for my four grandsons as my daughter "does not have the time."

God bless you and your wonderful family.

  43. Just like you my Dad is gone but I have an almost 86 year young FIL. I did a first for him and made his Father's Day card. He loved it. Also I am looking forward to seeing your scrapbooking. I don't know how you do all you do with 5 children but I really feel indebted to you for all the inspiration you give me. Thanks sooo much.

    Thanks for sharing, Robyn!

And you're right. I think I carried away (& overwhelmed), wanting my layouts to be perfect! But the kids are just happy to have a memory book to look at.

    Thanks for motivating me,
