Episode 204 - Ruff Day Cake

Hello my paper crafting friends!!!

I hope you have had a wonderful day and have a restful night!!  It has been a beautiful day here and my children have spent most of it playing outside on our new play set.  I am loving this time of year.  Of course, this time of year also means tornados!  We will be on Tornado Watch and Warning pretty soon here.  Yuck!!!

I made this cake for a friend of mine, who while running was bit by a dog the other day.  She was pretty upset about it so I thought I would make her something fun to help her laugh about it a little.  Hope you all enjoy!!!!

Hugs,
Robyn

Marshmallow Fondant Recipe:

2 pounds powdered suger

3 Tbsp water

1 package of mini marshmallows

Put the marshmallows with the water in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time.  Mixing with a wooden spoon until well melted.  Will be very messy!!
Grease up your surface with vegetable shortening.  Put entire package of powdered sugar on that surface.  Pour melted marshmallows on top and knead it together.  It will be very messy and at times seem like it is not working.  Give it time and it will!!

  6. Awwww super cute! Ruff day. Hahahaha awwwwww. As far as tornadoes go....I was in one on August 28,1990...I was 10 years old and my mom and I had just made it to the bottom of the basement stair when our house was blown away. I am still super cautious to this day...TIP when you find yourself in a watch or warning ALWAYS have shoes on!!!! Trust me, digging and crawling out of a destroyed home with glass and nails everywhere is NOT FUN!!!

Ok, done with my tangent! LOL

  92. Really cute cake. I am so excited to get a cricut cake. I started decorating cakes about a year ago and have become completely obsessed. My husband works at Sorenson Capital, they are part owners in Provo Craft. So I usually shop at Roberts and they don't have it yet. I have used my cricut for some of my cakes by making a pattern out of paper and then using it for a stencil...so I am really excited!!! 134. Robyn, if you want the fondant to taste a little better you can add 2 tsp of vanilla, and 2 tsp of almond extract, and then reduce the amount of water by the amount of extracts used. I also add shortening to my bowl when I am melting my marshmallows because it reduces the stickiness.'

Hope this helps someone, have a great day!!!
