Fantastic to watch, looks like you had fun.
I don't think I will be purchasing one, but I would be interested in maybe hiring one for the 2 days a year I make a birthday cake.
Robyn, I ADORE that you made a cake for your daughter! My dad always made my birthday cakes, too, and even though they might not ever looked as nice as those bought from the store, it is one of my fondest memories of him. Your kids will thank you for this someday!! :)
Another great video Robyn.. your friends are cute... you look like you could be sisters! I am sooooo glad I'm not interested in baking cakes... I'd be fondant broke!
Those cakes were so adorable and how blessed your daughter is to have a mom who spent the whole day making her birthday special! My birthday is in July in case you were interested! hint hint!

Great job Robyn!! This is so cute and really good considering it's your first one!
<3 Emily
nice job Robyn...I tried this with my baby cricut that I don't use anymore and decided I won't buy the machine it's way to much work, plus the family decided that they don't like the fondant.
Did you use fondant for the flower or gum paste?
That was fun! I do decorate cakes as well as cards, this Cricut cake really has some neat possibilities!
cute and yummy cake. thanks

Girl you are a crafting ninja! Just fearless! These cakes are great! Congrats on your daughter's birthday!
I think they turned out cute, And glad to see I am not the only one to use the dot method...lol I love to bake but cant decorate very well so I resort to the dot method alot...lol
So very cute!! That looks like tons of fun!. If you don't have a professional mixer, you might want to get one to mix the fondant, and it'll keep your pretty nails from getting stained :).
Impressive!!!!
Great work esp for first attempt I bet your little girl was sooo thrilled. Looks like you girls had fun too. Tfs
jeanette :D

Wow! What a great job you did, Robyn! And how blessed you are to have all the wonderful tools AND great friends to craft and bake with!!! Thanks for sharing the experience! Looks like FUN!!
Blessings and hugs!
Linda
You did a very good job for your first cakes. I took the Wilton classes several years ago and let me tell you it took me a lot of time to do the cakes pipeing it all. I would bake the cake and base frost it on one evening and pipe all thew designs on the next evening. A secret I will tell you. Take your cake spatula and a glass of warm water and smooth out your base coat frosting. Dip in the water, tap off the esxcess and smooth around the sides first and finish with the top. It will smooth out slick as can be.
Can see you gals had a fun time making the cakes, they turned out beautifully, even your own fondant, I'm impressed. Happy Birthday to your daughter and have a wonderful party.

Great cakes Robyn! You did a FAB job. I would love to have a Cricut Cake but alas I cannot afford one.
lservies@aol.com
Wow fab cakes Robyn, hope youyr daughter enjoyed hers....belated birthday wishes too her.
Awesome video! Thanks! Gail
That is so neat Robyn! All though the pink one came out a little better than the "blue" one.. your daughter will still love it because it came from mommy.. with love! (and I think you're supposed to refrigerate the iced cake for a bit before you fondant it. lol)
Great Job!!! Now I am going to want a Cricut Cake for the 5 cakes a year that I make! LOL...
Great video Robyn!
I just wanted to pass a little tip along for you since you are just starting in decorating: when you dip into a color to tint either frosting/fondant/gum paste, do not dip back into the color after it has touched product. By double dipping, you run the risk of contaminating your colors and they can spoil. It's best to use toothpicks to pick up globs of color from the bottle to the frosting because they can be used once and thrown away at very little cost to you.
Happy Birthday to your Daughter and thank you again for sharing your passion and love for crafting. :)
gorgeous cakes... byw the cake boss calls icing the cake before the fondant "dirty icing" ...
Good Job, really love the pink and purple cake!
Now I am hungry for cake!
Just a little more practice and you'll be a professional cake decorator! Love them both they look yummy
Great job, was it a hit?

Next it will be Cakes by Rybon! LOL The kitchen isn't my favorite place. I know you make my cakes and I will do your laundry. I don't mind laundry. OK there are only two of us and we are old so I don't have much to do. I am sure if I had your families to do I wouldn't like it either.
You did a wonderful job on your cakes. I love the peace sign.
just got my cricut cake today! cant wait to use it! thanks for the video you are so fun! :]
Oh, I may have to stop watching. I am gaining weight just watching. Wonderful job guys. Both cakes turned out great. Happy Birthday Madeline. Have a great weekend all. Lisa g

Robyn, you did a great job on your cakes. They came out so cute. If you're interested, you should try the beginning Wilton cake decorating class at Joanns. My daughter, who is also 10, took the class and I sat in with her, in case she needed help. We both learned so much. And for a 10 year old she is doing great at decorating cakes. Something to think about with the cricut cake.
Great job, your cakes turned out so cute.
Angel hugs
Debby

Hope you had as much fun eating the cake, as you did making it!!Lynn bunnies@rcn.com
Robyn,
You did such a great job on the cakes!
Happy Birthday to your daughter!
You are a fantastic mother!
Great job. Loved the bright colors. Before you put your batter in the oven take your spatula and move the batter out of the center until it looks like a hole. Then stick you pan in the oven and when the cake is baked you will never have a mound on the top that you have to cut off. It will be flat! The batter slowly fills up the hole as it bakes. Hope you enjoy my trick. I taught cake decorating for years.
oh my gosh, that looks like so much work but so special because it's made with love. I'm not as brave as you Robyn, I think I'd better stick to Costco
Pretty cakes. What a great idea Cricut had!
Friends are wonderful :)
I like the pink cake :)
So Cute!
Cute cake, you should take a look at mine...

You should watch Cake Boss or Ultimate Cake Off for some tips on using fondant (in your spare time, right - ha!). Cricut Cake is a big help to us non-professionals. They make it look so easy, but I bet it's not! I think I've seen them use a steamer to smooth out/set the fondant. With my luck, it would just melt all over. So glad you are willing to experiment & learn on camera! Keep up the good work.
Robyn, thanks for the video of the cakes and please do more for us who will need the extra help in mastering the Cricut Cake. I am expecting it any day and want to get good at it. To me it does not have to be perfect if it is for you or family. The love in making it is enough.
Thanks for all your help,
Penny

I love your cake, you make me order one, I'll get it on the 26th, I be making my mother's cake for mother's day, I'm so happy

Thanks for the great cake video, Robyn. I tried my first cake today for my future son in law's 25th birthday. It came out pretty good for a beginner! Thanks for all the helpful hints!
After spending the past ten hours today baking 19 separate layers for my son's wedding cakes on MY birthday today, I was laughing at the topic of the video on cakes!!! My cake carts should be here April 26th, just in time for his wedding, the cakes all went into the freezer tonight! Wish me luck!
Thanks for testing out the Cricut Cake and letting us learn from you. You and your friends look like you were having a FUN time!!!
Bev B
Nice work, Robyn! Yummy!
Elmo's Party Cartridge sounds like a wonderful one to use for my grandkids. Thanks for the opportunity to win it.
Patty (pwtweety@cox.net)
How cute you all look. Looks like you had fun!!! So how long did it take for the pink cake to completely dissappear.? :)
So what does all that fondant and gumpaste taste like?
Great job Robyn!! You did fabulous for your first cake. It would be so fun to have a Cricut Cake to make my cakes with. Thanks for sharing!!
I make cakes and you did great girl for a beginner. One trick to hide your edges around the bottom is to cut it 1/2 inch longer then with a butter fork just tuck it under your cake. Actual ribbon pinned around it is a nice way to touch up creases and hems too. Your second cake was perfect! I bet they were yummy too! Ok so now how do I win one of those! ;O)
I have used my cricut to cut out patterns then placed them over top the gum paste but iits hard to get in little creases and corners.
YOu are so much fun! Do you ever sleep!? LOL! Your amazing!
That would be a butter "KNIFE" not fork LOL ;O)
and happy birthday to your daughter!
You did a great job Robyn! I will now have to give this a try.
Robyn, I don't know if someone has mentioned this before because I didn't read all of the comments, but cake decorating is one of my hobbies. I do work with fondant quite a bit and I just wanted to give you a quick tip. Before you put the fondant on the cake, make sure your cake is level, and then put it in the fridge for an hour. It'll make your lines on the sides much more crisp instead of rounded. Just a thought. You do wonderful work.
Ha, you guys are so funny! I love the cakes you made and the cricut cake. I am ATTEMPTING to make my daughter's bday cake (a challenge from my husband) and just bought the cricut cake machine. Oh, thank goodness for you and youtube....
