Is this too much?????

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I have a candy addiction. That doesn't usually go well with being married to a dentist but, hey, what can I do??????

This was my first mistake today. Going shopping for Valentine's goodies on Day 3 of my Weight Watchers start over program!!!! I am trying to be REALLY good and count my points and what do I go and do????? BUY LOTS OF CANDY!!!

I have already been tempted today just by smelling the Dove chocolate hearts. I have to say, though, that I have been very good so far. It's only been 7 minutes but WHO IS COUNTING???? Oh ya, ME!!!!

  3. Fight the temptation. just keep telling your self NO CANDY. Someone once told me to stop a craving was to take a wif of vinager and that should turn you off for whatever you want to eat. Ive never trid it but just the thought of it sounds gross.
You can do it Robyn...Your strong, Your a fighter and most of all YOUR YOU!

  4. You are asking the wrong person here. I just finished making Valentine treat bags for the kids. Had to make them now so I wont eat them later!
Are you making goodie bags with all of your Valentine goodness? I hope if you do, you will do a quick share. Would love to see them.
    Thanks!

  5. that is so funny. I probably couldn't make it for 2 min. I am counting calories. Very had with all the candy around. keep up the will power. you can do it. lol

  6. Robyn, I too restarted WW this year... these holidays with chocolate are the worst for me as well!! I did find the trick is to NOT deprive yourself. Have a pce of candy, even 3... but limit to 3. usually thats enough to quench the sweet tooth (speaking for myself and sharing a tip). it worked, last yr I lost 88 lbs with WW... still going.
Love your videos, you'e my new CELEB favorite! I hope I didnt miss the entry for yesterdays giveaway...thought you'd written somewhere you'll do one wednesday. Anyway, looking forward to coffee and crafting with you later....lol, via videos of course.

  8. Well, since I don't see any Laffy Taffy, you might be safe!!! haha It's hard with Valentine's and Easter because there are so many yummy treats out there!!! Plus, treat bags for your kiddos require you to have candy goodness around. Make something cute with all that candy QUICK so the only way you can eat it is to destroy a project!!! haha
    Have fun!!
    Blessings and hugs!!

  9. OK Robyn, get out your Cricut and do something with the candy that you won't want to destroy. Blog candy? No, that's too literal. Put it in the closet and lock it up.

  10. Looks good to me, but I'm terrible with candy too! I keep hoping they will come up with a sugar-free candy and chocolate that is not a laxative, but that's just a pipe dream! Be strong for all of us Robyn!

  11. Where's the Laffy Taffy??!!?? LOL :) I wish I had gone to the store to fill the mailboxes that I made (thank you for the great idea!) We heard that Maryland will be getting possibly 16 to 24 MORE inches of snow starting this Friday and into the weekend. I think I will be snowed in and creating things in my dungeon :) Have a great day Robin!!!

  15. Hi Robyn-

I think the old adage is true, everything in moderation. So give yourself a few each day. You have 35 flex points(can you tell I am on the program! LOL), plus the fact that you exercise quite a bit so I say enjoy! :0) XOXO, Julie. :0)

  16. I lasted 5 minutes before I ate 6 mini snicker bars yesterday. They were left over after making 9 valentine's day bags. Too bad there weren't 9 left.

  18. oh no! Robyn all of that hard work last year for this???? Don't do it....you worked too hard and you ran a marathon....don't go back!!!!! 20. Wrap the goodies up quick so you don't have too long to eat!! I have already eaten a lot of a giant bag of Hershey miniatures I bought for next week.
I got my "my pink stamper" stamps today! I actually screamed when I saw the Postman bringing the package to the door. Pretty sad huh?! I love them, thanks Robyn.

  24. Oh I'm right there with you. Counting those points and ignoring that bag full of candy I got to make goodies for my 34 students.

  33. You did it before, you can do it again. Hang in there and if you give in once, don't just crash, start over again and try to resist again. One of my friends on WW puts some chocolate in the freezer and when she really HAS to have some, she takes one small piece and savors it. It takes a lot longer to melt in your mouth when it is frozen.

  34. If you want a square of dove have ONE they are 1 pt! It's worth it when you want it that bad! Good luck on your start over program as I started my start over program about 1 month ago. I know you are a busy woman but take the time to check out hungry-girl.com she has some amazing recipes and a nice varitey! Facebook also has a ww group that has a wonderful support group, now eat your chocolate and don't feel guilty! Enjoy!!!!

If that's the case then don't worry just eat 1 or 2 pieces to help that *Sweet Tooth* and then your good to go! I bought some too for my youngest son... he's in 1st grade and I'm making them pillow boxes with a see through window...I thought that would be cute.... My older boys are in H.S. So they don't give that stuff out anymore.... And they both keep telling me there are nooo girls at school that they like...So no cards either...bummer... Ok Now I'm wayyy off track! LOL :)

  62. Robyn I was just reading your My Pink Loser blog, and I am impressed at how well you managed to lose all that weight.
Don't sabotage yourself. When I was trying to lose weight I found that tic tacs gave me all the sweetness I needed to distract me from other goodies. Give it a try. The other trick is, when you feel the urge of something sweet, just go and brush your teeth. I know that I hate to put anything in my mouth after the minty taste of toothpaste.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Robyn: I'm in the same boat! I have been re-doing WW for 5 weeks. It is much slower this time around but average 1.4 lb a week. It's hard especially with all the candy! I'm a candy-a-holic too!! I'm just keeping everything wrapped and away. I am going to make the little goody bags like you showed for your friends at CHA. I have been enjoying watching your journey and am so impressed with everything you have accomplished - you should be so proud of yourself. And to think you have those little kids too!! And 5 of them!!! I have 3, including a pair of twins, so I know how hard it is to get anything done with little kids around! So, don't be too hard on yourself but keep up the good work too. You worked so hard for your marathon and when I look back at your earliest posts/photos from the Pink Loser...well, you go girl! Maybe it would help you be strong to look back there yourself. Good luck!

    My best to you.

  80. That's a lot of candy, my friend. I've been having some skin issues so I thought I would go off chocolate for a week to see if it would help. It didn't so I'm back on the chocolate train. woot woot!

  81. I bought a lot of candy to give to my nail tech, my mailman who adores candy, some of the kids around me and of course for me. Well you did better then I did. On my way home in my car I opened the bag of pink and red Yemmie yems....(that is what we call M & M's) and ended up eating I bet half the bag before I finally got home. And then I left the open bag in my car so my husband would not laugh at all I ate in such a short drive home which I might add was only about 4 miles!!! Figure I might as well eat the rest of them every time I have to run an errand!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Hold yourself back!!! The way I stop myself from chowing down on candy is not to open the package. Once they are opened, there's nothing stopping you! Keep the faith and don't open the candies until you have to. Hope this helps. Happy V-day to all!

    ReplyDelete
  87. You can always send it to my house if you want...lol

    ReplyDelete
  88. Hi Candy fiends! When I find myself buying such goodies for "someone else" I make myself get honest. Do I really want it for myself???? If so, buy a smaller quantity, say one icy square (my fav), instead of a whole pack. If I need stuff for others, I buy something I don't like so much.
Like others, I find one square of good quality really dark chocolate satisfies many a craving.

And if all that doesn't work...pray!

  89. My grandfather had this saying "when tempted fall at once and save yourself the struggle" He was of course talking about good temptations like having some candy, etc. So cave in just a little or use your dc cart and make yourself, a little valentine's calendar, attach a piece of candy for each day, and just like at Christmas time, you take off one piece until V-day.Have a great day and keep us inspired.

    Robyn--
Be strong! I know already that you have more willpower than I do, cuz I never could've brought all of that home! I'd have already tore through at least one bag, if not more! If you can resist all of that chocolatey goodness, I'm impressed! Hope you stick to it. Good for you starting your program again. I always thought that it would be the smart thing to not wait till you gain a lot of weight to lose it, not that I've practiced that! But you're inspiring--look how many cartridges I've bought because of you!--so maybe I'll have to check out WW myself. Do you do the meetings or on-line?? Good luck!

  92. I am a salt craver[good thing as I am a diabetic dental hygienist] so Valentine sweets do not yell my name like popcorn and nuts do! As everyone has been saying, have a little because having none at all will result in a binge. You can do it!!
By the way, unless your hubby's dental office is different than any one I have worked in for 35 years, there are always goodies in that staff room!

So how do you join weight watchers and do you get the meals by mail, buy them in the store, or do your own food prep...is this like jenny craig?

Good luck, you can do it..they say to not diet and cut food out, but to eat in moderation.

  98. My suggestion - don't have any. If you're like me, you'll be fine until you tell yourself that you can have just one. But it's never just one...

They sure are fun to papercraft with though! I got some of the Sweetarts myself at a recent trip to Walmart so I could make matchbooks.

  99. Robyn, I know what your going thru. I am a life time member of WW trying to get back to goal. You can have a piece of dark chocolate, its OK. I always find the more I crave it and don't have it, the more I obsess over it. Have it, and the craving will go away.
