I hope you are having a wonderful PINK weekend!!! This is my favorite holiday of the year! I know, I say that everything is my favorite because most of the time it is at that moment. Can you guess why I love Valentine's Day?????
Yep, you guessed it! It is the one time of year I can make PINK things for EVERYONE and nobody complains. My type of holiday!
Last night I was up until close to midnight finishing off the SIMPLEST goodie bags for my 2 kids that are in Elementary school. My oldest is in Middle School and she informed me that they don't do that anymore. She was a bit sad about it, too. Poor sweet girl!!
As you can tell from these goodie bags I just kept them BASIC. A folded over 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of black cardstock and then a 2 inch scalloped heart from Doodlecharms. Simple enough!!
The first thing my two kids did this morning was run to my office and find the OTHER Valentine's I had originally bought when I didn't think I was making them their own. They wanted to have the OTHER ones! Can you believe it. I think they are just sooooo used to me making goodie bags that they think it is neat to just do things the normal way. I finally convinced them to take my "blood, sweat, and tears" bags that I slaved over. (No guilt or anything :) !
I started a family tradition a few years ago of a PINK Valentine's breakfast. We decided to do it this morning since our weekend is pretty busy. I try to get everything PINK to eat. Here is what we had this year...... pink tulips (we didn't eat those), pink frosted mini wheats, raspberries, strawberries, pink frosted donuts, pink marshmallows, pink yogurt, pink cream cheese with bagels, pink milk, and pink hostess treats.
After all of that, the only thing they really ate was the donuts & their candy. Yes, I also give them Pink goodies. This year I decorated Target mailboxes and filled them with candy. They also got a Pez dispenser and a little heart box of chocolates ($1).
The winner has already been announced for this giveaway. :)
