Episode 183 - Cricut-Hopper SYI Card

Hello my friends, old & new!!

I first wanted to say "welcome" to all our new viewers.  I hope you will feel at home here on My Pink Stamper and on My Pink Stamper Fan Page.  If you have any questions or requests you can always reach me at mypinkstamper@gmail.com.

I made the following video using Cricut Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge.  I hope it helps out at least one viewer!!

We were trying to make the layering in the Card feature work.  You can always layer the image on it's own but this is a bit more tricky.  :)

  1. Well I think your card turned out really cute! I guess since you have to play guess work with it the best way is to either use a gypsy or Design Studio and play around that way you don't waste paper.

Another adorable card! I love how you're not afraid to just try things out and don't let the mistakes bother you! I mean, it is just paper, so you just try again. I think you make us all braver!

  63. I just made that card......and had to work with it too....but it turn out so cute.....there are some very cute images on SYI and great for KIDS.............thank you again...

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hopefully this is not repetitive but you can change the sizes to 1/10ths of an inch in the settings setup and this may allow you to get a little closer to the correct size that you want. I use it quite a bit on those carts with certain fonts that don't have a shadow feature. If you change it and dial it up about 2/10 of an inch bigger than the first cut size, it works pretty well.
Thanks for bringing enlightenment to the cricut world for those that are a little intimidated to work it out on their own.

    ReplyDelete
  65. that was very helpful, thanks. We can always count on you to figure it out.

  68. When I make a card with this cartridge I cut the actual card in various colors, cut out the designs I want to use as layers, and put it all together. This gives me the perfect layer. I usually hit stop once it cuts the design (which usually cuts first)so I don't waste paper. I know it may not be the most efficient but it works well for me.

    Thanks Robyn!

  73. Robyn, this card feature frustrates me and made me feel like an idiot for not being able to make it work... now I know I'm not alone:o) I thought it was just me that had to fiddle with the sizes so I am so happy to see your absolutely stunning card!! I definitely feel a cardlift coming on:o)

  95. Thanks for the video Robyn - that was a great question and I'm glad to see that it's not always my fault when the layering doesn't work perfectly!!! I loved how the card turned out in the end (and how the colors really worked well together). It's great to see you bring out some of the older cartridges every now and then.

    BTW, awesome nails!

  102. So cute!! I love the way the card turned out. I have this cart and have never used the card function before. I may have to give it a try. I be that I could probably match up the layer in DS or my Gypsy to make it the right size.

  104. Great video and I wanted to give you a little tip. I have torn out all the instructions that are in foreign languages from my cartridge booklets. It makes going to the English instructions at the beginning of each cartridge book much quicker and easier to find exactly what I want. Just be careful because sometimes there are English directions on one side of the page and foreign instructions on the other. Don't tear out a page with English instructions by mistake.
