I have a question Robin. When you updated your expression with the new firmware, will SCAL still cut on that machine. I thought I had read somewhere not to update your firmware, or SCAL wouldn't work anymore. Thanks for the great videos! I have learned more about my cricut from you than anywhere else.

Great info. Robyn. Thanks.

You are a genius!!! Thanks Robyn for helping us out with this great video. Loved how you showed how to layout the paper on the mat. What a timesaver. I'm going to love my Gypsy.-Deborah

I know that provo craft doesn't like us using the scal program since it isn't theirs, I'm wondering if since you updated your firmware if it made it so that scal doesn't work anymore ... have you tried scal since updating your firmware???

I don't have a gypsy :(

Gatornanny said...

I didn't think I would use the gypsy. But you have made it look so easy. I was concerned about the cut out and paper placement. I now think it gives a more accurate visual by counting the squares DUH
why didnt I think of that.
I want one now its on my christmas list. Santa are you listening??????

Angelwood said...

Great video! I like that there is no paper waste and you can put everything that you want to cut on one mat. I wonder if you can pull images from other cartridges and still cut it on the one mat..? Wasn't sure if I was going to buy the gypsy or not - I will have to re-think that decision. Thanks! Angela

Very informational. Thanks. Wish I had a gypsy to try it out on, but hey, I've got my Cricut & DS so I'll keep cutting...:)

Robyn, Very very very HELPFUL. And I don't even own a gypsy. Now that I see how fast PC is at keeping Gypsy current with updates, I might have to start saving my pennies.

Thanks for helping us all become better scrappers.

Loved the paperdoll - can you show us her finished?

I bought my Gyspy from Micheals. I used all my birthday money and spare cash to buy it. It was a big investment for me and i felt like i did my homework. One of the very first things i noticed was how tiny the icons were. Oh well, i thought i can get used to it.Well, when i saw how teeny tiny the overlay screen was, i was really disappointed. I talked to provocraft for about 45 minutes, thinking there would be some way to enlarge them but at this time there isn't. They did say they would think about making an upgrade soon. It is so small, that when you look at the new dinosaur track card, you can't even tell what type of dinosaur they are. You have to type them in , then look on the screen and enlarge it. I don't know about you but, i don't want to do that everytime i see a detail in the image. The idea of gypsy is great. But if you compare it to an iphone detail (which costs about the same) you feel cheated and let down. It would be better if you bought one of those mini netbooks and uploaded your DS and SCAL on there.
Also, if you bought your Gypsy at Micheals, just be aware they have a horrible return policy.
I love my cricut but not the gypsy. I keep thinking gypsy version 2 will be a lot better!

Those little scrubs are adorable!!! I have that ladybug paper, and I love it, but it's a bit "busy" so I wasn't sure what to do with it. I love the idea of using it in smaller sections like that!!

I was wondering about the Gypsy and SCAL software too. I really want a Gypsy but if stops my SCAL from working, it is not worth it to me. So just wondering, have you tryed your SCAL, since you got the Gypsy?
Hope SCAL still works, B-day coming up soon and the Gypsy is on the top of my list!
Thanks - Martha

Hi Robyn, This is fantastic! I don't have design studio, well I have it but when I got it I didn't know that it doesn't work with my Mac so I never used it. Can I weld letters together with the Gypsy? Your Gypsy Videos are great. I don't have one yet. I am going to watch you for a while first.

Great video Robin! They really should be paying you a commission. I don't have a ton of cartridges and I rarely leave my house to crop so I wasn't really considering buying a Gypsy but after each video where I see you using it I'm getting closer and closer to buying one!

I have a curious question. When you update your firmware for the Gypsy on your Expression are you still able to use Sure Cuts a lot or has Provocraft blocked it? I should be receiving my Gypsy anyday now and would like to know.
