  6. Hi Robyn! Great video! I do have a question about how you think you will use it. Do you think that this will replace SCAL for you or do you think you will still use it the same amount as you have before? I don't have SCAL, but was thinking about investing in it. Now with the Gypsy I'm not so sure since if I got one I wouldn't be at my computer as much while scrapping.

    Thanks so much!

  20. Hey Robyn

Thanks for sharing more about the gypsy.

I have a question, do you think this will now replace what Design Studio or Sure Cuts a lot does?

Good luck this weekend in the marathon! I will be rooting for you here in Tennessee

  21. Robyn you take the intimidation out of the gypsy-thinking now about it and how I would use it. Before I was just using my jukebox.
    Looking forward to your videos..

  23. Robyn,

Didn't think I "needed" a Gypsy until I watched the second video you made. Now, I know I need a Gypsy.
The cartridges are registered to your Gypsy so that no one can put them on another Gypsy, which is a wonderful way to make sure people are not using others cartridges instead of purchasing one for themselves. What happens, once you have registered your cartridges on your Gyspsy and your Gypsy malfunctions and you have to get a new Gypsy? Will you be able to use your already registered cartridges on your new Gypsy? Not to be negative, but we all know that computers crash.

    Thanks,
    Grandma Mickey

  30. I had no idea they were coming out with such a thing. It looks like a great product but for me it's too expensive.

  31. I want one. Cant wait to see more from this fabulous machine.

  32. Hi Robyn, My question is the same as Grandma Mickey above. We all know technology malfuntions and also with kids around, accidents can happen and things break, obviously breaking it isn't covered by warranty, how can you load your own cartridges onto a replacement gypsy or is it not possible and your out of luck?

  33. Thanks for sharing the gypsy with us. Can't wait to get one I can see a lot of benefits to having it. Jackie above has a good question I would like to know the answer also.

  36. Great informative video. The cost will be a big factor because of economy and the amount that the gypsy costs. You can purchase alot of other supplies like paper, ribbon, rubberstamps and so on with the amount. I also believe that a person investing in one will be able to take their creativivity to a whole new level. I think that upgrading to the cricut from the punch machines has done that. I am sure many were like me and hesitant to take that leap because of cost, but once they did there is no looking back. The cricut (any of them) is such a handy tool for so many more ways then we ever could have imagined, until we had one and the excitment of so many options became evident. I believe this gypsy will do the same. Because it links to a computer they will be able to update/upgrade in ways we can't believe. I heard on another video that they talked to provo craft and there will be an upgrade to the design studio (in the future) that will allow you to make new cut outs like we can now (by combining cut outs)and transfer them to the gypsy and vice versa. That was from the girls at Christmas with the Cricut. My point is those things will come and advance us again and again. So the decision to spend the money or not will depend on how much you want to do with your cricut, how creative, how much do we want to open up even more to us. I was weighing the cost and thought if I didn't purchase more paper, ribbon and supplies for a short period of time I would have the money for the cricut. I want more paper and supplies, but I add up my what I have spent for supplies even over the past month and that can go along way to purchasing a gypsy. I don't know about you guys, but if I had to go on a supply diet now, my paper wouldn't run out (or any of the other items I use for supplies) Just another person who has to make this same decision, thinking it outloud with all of you.

  37. Thanks for the video Robyn. Still looks pretty cool to me. I haven't had DS or anything, just my Cricut and I don't like dragging it out an thinking with it on and in my way. So I think that the Gypsy would be perfect for me, while designing I could be thinking of color choices and such. Just a lot better option then sitting in front on the Cricut and trying to come up with something fantastic. Thanks. Kristi

  38. Really nice, bur for the cost I have seen for it, I might, probably won't get one. I can use the money for more carts. Also, I wish the stylus had come connected to the gypsy with a long, or long enough cord. I can foresee me, IF I ever get one, forgetting to put it back and it becoming lost

    Great Video anyway

  39. My birthday and Christmas are both in December and my hubby is wondering what to get. He might be shocked at the price so if I win one he can get me cartridges to fill it up with. I signed up at Cutting Above. Did I read that there are three ways to win one?

  40. Robyn, thanks for showing us how easy it is to use. This little machine looks like it would be so much fun. I love the fact that we don't need DS. Just my cricut and the gypsy! Very cool!

  44. Ahh, I don't know what to do! I wanted to get the DS (a lot cheaper)but your video's make me want the gypsy. I'm new to all this, what do you suggest? One question- Watching everyones blog and watching them play with the gypsy they say you have to put a cartridge in the cricut to cut, huh? what if I used the gypsy fonts it doesn't come with a cartridge. How would I cut it out?

  45. Hi Robyn.

  50. Robyn:
I don't see anything here yet, but just some info on a blog site offering 2 Gypsy's as a giveaway for the launch of their new blog - just passing it on (www.cuttingabove.blogspot.com) - to enter you just have to plug the Cricut World Launch of the Gypsy on 9/24 and their blog on your blog or if you don't have a blog, post/bump on 3 other forums - quite a giveaway!!

  58. I bought the gypsy yesterday at Micheals. All my excitment left when i dicovered how extreamly small the icons are. I think the worst is the overlays of the cartiages with images and phrases I'm not familar with. It's hard to explain but it is VERY difficut to see what icons to push or even what the images are. I talked to Provocraft for about 45 minutes this morning and the appogized over and over for this issue. They said maybe they will have an upgrade in the future for that. They even suggested that i print out the cuts or use my computer to see what is on the card. This totally defeats the the purpose of having a portable machine. I am so disappointed, i wanted this so much. Also note, if you buy the gypsy from Micheals they have a horrible return policy so ask a lot of questions when you get it.

    (sorry no spellcheck today)

  59. Hi Robyn. Don't have a "help" icon on my application page nor do I have an "exhit" icon. Yours has it and they show it on page 8 of the manual having it. I've emailed Provo to find out what they know. I have also updated my Gypsy so don't quite understanding why I don't have that feature.

  60. Im new to your website and am interested in the gypsy. I do have some concerns and thought maybe you could address them. What happens to my cartridges if I have a problem with my gypsy and they have to replace it? This happened to my cricut and they had to send a brand new one. Thanks for your help. You are a talented person and I love to watch your videos. Thanks again Mindy

  61. Hey Robyn,

I was wondering (i know you say its really cool but...) do you reccomend this. I mean is it a cool product to have or is it somewhat pointless. I was in a Micheals store and the employee let me play with one, it was exciting and easy to use. I saw that they had some avalible but at a higher price than a website i saw online. Should i trust a website called www.scrapbookpal.com or is not a good site? Im sure its fine. Anyway please get back to me at emster905@gmail.com and reply orelse just right on your website.
    Thanks

  64. Thanks Robyn for all the videos you do. I have a question on the gypsy, you said once you link the cartridge it is permanent, and you can't link to another gypsy, what do you do if the gypsy you have gets broken?? Non of your cartridges can be put on a new gypsy, so they are worthless to use again? thanks for all you do, Pamy
