What Do You Think?

Hi Everyone!!!

Yep! These are the two colors I have picked out for My Pink Loft. What do you think? The darker pink will be only on one accent wall and then the lighter pink will be on the other 3 walls. I am going to use an accent color, too. I start painting My Pink Loft in the morning!!! Isn't it going to be soooo bright and happy???? Now My Pink Expression will have a place to live!!!

See if you can match the pink on the Expression. What accent color are you going to use. Don't dress in pink or we won't be able to see you. LOL

Are you a cool pink girl or a warm pink girl? Both colors are really pretty but the light seems on the cool side to me.

For me the darker pink would need to go on the wall that I look at but I LIKE color. Lots of color.

What about if you paint in 3 shades of pink? It can be in layers. So, the top 1/3 will be in light pink, the middle darker pink, and the bottom color will be the darkest pink? I think that would be so cool. This way you could enjoy all colors all the time!

tnscrapper said...

Looks great, I was thinking like Betty, are you still thinking polka dots? Brown is also a nice accent color too, if you need to throw something in the mix to break it up a little. I love brown and pink together.

jmcstamper has a good idea! I would second that. Personally I am more of a 'blue' color person, but I would probably do the different shades and enjoy several of them at one time.

I love the lighter pink, not a fan of the darker one myself, but it will suit The Pink Loft! And I'm still so jealous about your Pink Expression! Have fun painting!

Love it. You should paint some polka dots or something!

scrapper1969 said...

I really like the lighter Pink... I think it's pretty...but the darker pink will go nicely as you stated as the accent color... Try not to wear to much pink when you do your videos or we won't know where you are in the room! LOL I know painting can be fun but it can also be a pain...try and have fun with it..You'll be proud once it's all done! Have a great day!

I am sure your "pink cricut" (which I am so jealous of) is going to love it's new home.

Cute! Even though I'm not actually a huge pink fan -- *gasp* -- I think pink and brown are a classy combo. I've also started pairing yellow with pink lately, instead of the oh-so-popular lime green. I think it's super cute and fresh... maybe you might like it? Give it a whirl. What could it hurt?

I have those exact colors in my spare bedroom. I did the accent wall in the dark pink and then "bagged" the light pink over it....it's VERY bright and VERY girlie. If you want to make a BOLD pink statement, this will sure do the trick.

Have fun!

You'll have to post pictures ... my 5 year old is a "pink" lover too, we're driving to the craft store today and she tells me she thinks everything should be pink, the cars, the houses the clouds in the sky everything! Now mind you she just turned 5 on august 6th so how far do you think that imagination is going to take her????

The dark pink ;-) Good luck with your new room :-)

GREAT COLOURS!!! i'm sooo jalous!! My room (soon to be) is our ex-laundry room, and it's just badly covered with wallpapers which was white someday...but we don't wanna paint or anything because we'll be moving within 2 years...so why bother...

But i put accents in the room (red, white and black mostly) with shelfs etc...

marijke said...

I am sure what ever you decide to do it will be great! You always have such a knack for color. If I were doing those colors....I believe I would paint all the walls the lighter pink and then do a nice 6-8 inch stripe around the top dropped down from the ceiling about 12" and write inspirational or family says all around it. Can't wait to see the results, though!

You have done some really cute cards that combine pink and green, (My fabulous friend)if you are still looking for an accent color. I love the card you posted on June 7th with the strawberries that had a green and yellow background that would give you even more accent options. The white trim on the card really pops the colors, and you could do the same with white woodwork. Just a thought!! (I always use cards or a piece of artwork for my color inspirations in my rooms.)

Absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to see pics of the finished room! I've been praying that you do well in your marathon. I just finished my first one on August 1st. I had set a goal of 5:30 and finished it in 5:34 so not too bad for an old lady. You will do much better, I'm sure!

San said...

Most pastels intensify when you have it on all the walls. You might want to go ONE shade lighter on the lighter pink, and it will look like your sample. The darker pink is going to reflect its "pinkness" back on the other lighter walls. Pastels always look more vivid when there is a lot of it. Just a suggestion so your hard work results in a nice pink and not bazooka bubble gum, unless um, you wanted that, in which case I will shut up :)

Hi Robyn,
Have fun painting your space! I'd use the pale pink on all walls. Since I love decorative painting, I would then copy onto one wall the design you had made for the top of your blog (using the dark pink, brown & green)with you, your Cricut & blog name. How cute would that be...and a great background for your future videos that we all look forward to!!!

He buildt shelves on one wall and each inside of the shelves was painted a different color - wish I had a picture - it would blow us away today. After a while you never notice the bright color - you eye gets used to it being there. GO FOR IT. HAVE A BLAST. Maureen

Hi Robyn,

Like you, I too LOVE pink! All my friends make fun of me but I don't mind! When I was a little girl I made my mom buy pink paint for my room. It was called "Cotton Candy". I loved it! I like the idea about adding some poka-dots to the darker pink wall with the lighter color pink! That would really jazz it up! I just may take a trip to the local hardware store and choose my very own cotton candy color for my craft room! Thanks for sharing with us and good luck with painting!

I love jmcstamper's tri-color idea. You could do it horizontally as she mentioned if you want to expand the width of the room or vertically (which I have done). If you do it vertically you could make 2 of the colors the same width with the 3rd color a smaller width. The vertical stripes done this way take lots more taping than the horizontal ones; but, they are very effective. If you do the horizontal stripes I would make the bottom, darker stripe taller than the other 2 stripes. Some random brown polkadots (cut from vinyl with your new pink cricut) would be cute done on the middle stripe. (Whatever you do will be darling. I can hardly wait to see the video post on your new room.)

One day when I mangage to get my own scraproom and it isn't combined with my bedroom I am going to paint it in the colors on your blog. Bright pink, lime green, and accent with brown. I love that color combination!!! I'm sure your pink loft will be perfect though and I can't wait to enjoy it with you through all your fantastic videos.

I'm another lover of the color "pink" and although I didn't paint my walls pink in my scraproom, I have tons of pink accents. So many, in fact, that my granddaughter calls it "the pink room." I painted my walls a beautiful color green...not lime but it goes really well with all the pink accents. I also use black as another accent rather than brown. I just like the look of pink/green/black. I love my room and can't wait to see you room when it's all finished!
Have fun!
