Hiking the Y

In Provo, Utah there is a HUGE Y that sits on the side of the mountain. You can see it when you are in a different city and when you fly over the top while on a plane. A fun activity to do in Utah is "hike the Y". We decided to do this on Friday morning. It was BEAUTIFUL up there but a little scary once we reached the Y. You have to be careful with small children and steep mountains. Don't worry, I watched them like a hawk. Here is the cute family pic we took at the top.

  3. Have fun. Looks like your husband is holding a rebel whose nose is out of joint. Maybe cause he's not getting to run around. Enjoy your time with your family. Hope the run went well.

  6. How fun! I'm surprised your kids made it. I've always been iffy to try it with mine. I don't want to hear complaining the whole way up. And down. :)

  7. How fun!! It's great that you all are getting physical exercise together, when our kids were small we roller bladed with them, biked, hiked, camped and swam with our kids, as they are now adults, its a lifestyle for them. Your family looks so cute!! Enjoy yourself

  8. OMG!!! I just noticed your husbands shirt, does that have to do with root canals????? ahhhhhh, had 4 of them, it's the worst thing I've ever had done in my life, I tell everyone I'd rather give birth again than have another root canal (my son was 9 1/2 pounds). Maybe your husband is a little more gentle than my dentist. The thought of it makes my knees buckle. Sorry, got off topic, the shirt just brought back nightmares. hahhahha

  9. We hiked the "Y" a week ago. It was my first time and I'm not in very good shape. My daughter told me that they would take it as slow as I needed to as she knew it was important to me to do it. As hard as the way up was, the way down was even more difficult! I'm so glad I did it though. I hope you'll show us a scrapbook page of the this hike. Your blog is my favorite... next to my daughter's that is. Thanks so much for all you do to show techniques and how doing things simple can really look good and be fun. I appreciate it more than I can express.

  10. OMG!! When Penny wrote about your husband's shirt, I scrolled back up to look again. Got Roots....???? Then it hit me!!!!!! You were at the mother church....I saw the picture and new....but it just hit me. You were at the biggest link to geneology in the world weren't you??? I know it is listed as Salt Lake City so maybe not. But you were close enough if you were not actually there.
I soooo want to be there. I have started to trace my family roots but always hit a dead end rather quickly....like with my Dad's Dad...stop...dead end. It gets very complicated very quickly. I guess I should join a group to help me, it is way more than I can do on my own.
Anyway, it looks like you are having a GREAT time on our vacation! Thanks for sharing with us!!

  19. I used to live on the edge of the canyon wall over looking 'the diagonal'. We could look out the window or walk out to our backyard and see the 'Y' on the mountain staring right back at us. Gosh, that seems like a lifetime ago.

    Enjoy your trip! :)
