Episode 63- 2-Step Stamping

Hi Everyone!!

I decided to completely take this day off from any moving responsibilities.  I took my kids out to lunch. hung out, and then took my oldest 3 to play miniature golf tonight.  It was a lot of fun!

On the topic of my air conditioning....  An a/c guy came out today to tell me the same thing I told the people over the phone.  I need a new compressor!!!  Anyway, he told me that it might take 2-3 weeks before they come back out to install it.  He said that the best timing for them would be if it happened in the Spring or the Fall.  I told him that normally a/c units do not go out when you are not using them!!!  Okay, I am really trying not to complain about having no a/c or that my washing machine started leaking a gallon of water today with each load.  It could be much worse and hopefully nothing else has to happen.  The heat is not that bad.  We are probably saving hundreds on our electric bill!!

 I also made a quick video for you.  I hope you enjoy it.  Someone e-mailed me and asked if I would show how to use 2-step stamps or layered stamps.  They are very easy to use but everyone needs a visual, right?

Birthday Fun!

Hi everyone!  I thought I would just take a minute to check in with you all.  I appreciate all the kind words and support you have given me.  Yes, our AC is still out and will not be getting fixed until late this week or next week.  It's not too bad.  Our lower level has stayed at 80 degrees and the our master bedroom, kitchen, and dining room have been at 85-90 degrees.  It's funny because I normally would have been majorly complaining about the heat but because I have so much on my mind I haven't really even noticed it.  We are closing on our new home on August 19th and they will be painting and replacing the floor the week after so we will not officially be moving in until the following weekend or early the next week.  That gives me more time to get things done!  There is a lot involved with buying a house and getting a house ready to sell.

I also have some birthdays coming up this week so I wanted to get some cards ready.  I made this one for a friend who is having hers this week.  I hope you enjoy it!  I love how the colors are super bright & fun, just like her personality!!

I think in order to really appreciate something new in your life you need to have some major trials.  Today begins that trial.  Our air is out and we need a new compressor AGAIN!!   Every summer since we have lived in this house we have had air problems.  Last year our air upstairs was out for 1 month in July/August and the year before that when I was pregnant our air was out for 1 month!!  We have a home warranty so we have to wait until they call, then make the appointment, order the right parts, come to install it... etc.  Ughhh!!  We are trying to get our home ready to put on the market right now so this is going to slow us down just a bit.  I know that everything will work out just fine but can I tell you how hot I am after packing boxes WITH the AC working???  This is going to be a long 3 weeks!!!

My BIG Secret!!

Okay, I can officially spill the beans on my blog. It's really not going to be a big deal to most of you guys but to our family it is HUGE! We are moving!! That's pretty much it!! I get a new "Cricut Green" stamp room and the kids get a play room/game room. We are so super excited!! So, basically, that is the reason I won't be on here that much in the next few weeks. We are trying to close on the house in 2-3 weeks!!! I started packing up my stamp room closet today and filled 6 full boxes!!! On Saturday I filled up 7 boxes with just my 8 1/2 x 11 scrapbooks!! This is going to be a big project but it is giving me a reason to clean out all my stuff. I have already given away a TON of stuff to some friends and I am still finding things I don't need anymore. I plan on catching up on some videos as soon as I get myself unpacked. I am going to keep out some of my stamping/scrapping necessities until the time gets closer. I will see if I feel like making some more videos before I move.

Anyway, if you have any moving tips or advice I would love to hear them. We are only moving about 5 miles from our current home but will be in entirely different schools. We kind of planned that so our kids can go to school with their friends from church.

Episode 61- A Baby Girl Card

Hey guys!! Well, I had a friend over last night to scrap and I was inspired to make a video. This one was fun and turned out so super cute. I only wish now that I had someone to send it to that I know is having a girl!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend. We don't have much planned for today except the normal household chores. I didn't do any of the normal stuff last week since I was so preoccupied. My goal is to get my house smelling like roses today. Wish me luck!

Here is the simple card I made last night. I bought this stamp at Just 4 Keeps here in my city. I'm not sure who makes the stamp but it was only $1 and soooo super adorable!!!

Episode 60- Marble Technique

P.S. I'm still doing good with WW and am hardly ever super hungry. Today we went to Wendy's and I had a small chili and salad while my daughter ate french fries right in front of me. I was tempted for about two seconds and then it passed.

Crazy!!!

Things have been so crazy busy for me that I feel like I'm losing it.  I really want to make a video or new project but life is totally getting in the way right now.  Just keep checking back with me and maybe I'll surprise you with a new episode this week!

On another note, I'm still doing Weight Watchers and have lost 10 pounds!!  I started last Monday and I have faithfully stuck with it.  Honestly, because of some things going on in my life I haven't been very hungry.  The other night my DH came up to my office and brought me a candy bar but I didn't even eat it!!  Usually I would have gobbled it right up!!  

I hope you all are having a great week!  I really appreciate every one of you.  You brighten my day when I read your comments.  This week a number of you have sent me personal e-mails or pm's telling me how much you missed my work and I am touched.  I will get back on my feet as soon as possible.

Okay, I'm off to take my son to tennis lessons.

Hey Pink Ladies & Gents!! I promise to make some fun videos this week. I am in the middle of a "top secret" project that is keeping my mind pretty busy right now. As soon as that is figured out I will be able to focus on my blog in my "spare time". I hope you are all having a great summer!!! The weather is very hot here and just plain YUCKY!!     

Fun at a Crop!

Last night I went to a local crop with some friends and met some of my MB buddies there, too. I actually got a lot done, if you can believe that. I was totally CRAZY!!! We agreed that what happened at our crop, stays at our crop. lol. You won't be hearing any of my weird moments last night, I hope. Here are a few pages I got done. They are very simple and I still need to put my journaling on but I always wait to do that until after I post them.

My Stamp/Scrap Room Workout!

Hi Everyone!!

I just wanted to share something I am doing different in my Pink Loft to try to get healthy again. It only cost $10 and I think it is going to be so worth it!

Are we just the coolest parents??

Our kids sure think so!  At least last night they did when we took our oldest girls to the Jonas Brothers' Concert.  Can I just say that it was such a blast.  They put on an EXCELLENT concert.  The only thing that drove me crazy was all the screaming.  I have never heard so many pre-teens and teenage girls scream so loud!!  The Jonas Brothers are just a really classy band.  They did something that I thought was the absolute coolest!  They found out that a group of 4 girls drove a LONG way to come to the concert and they got the worst seats in the house so they gave them front row seats!!!  They did that for another group in the middle of the show, too, because they found out that they were recycling or something like that.  Just a really fun night!  Here are some highlights.  The pics aren't the greatest but if you have little girls they might really appreciate them.  :)

I do have to say that the funniest thing about the whole night was that my girls and I were wearing Hannah Montana shirts!! We were the only ones not wearing Jo Bro shirts!! My girls even made me buy a pink HM shirt and I wore it the entire night. My DH was laughing so hard!!

Episode 59- A Paper Scrap Challenge

Here Piggy Piggy!

Aren't these the cutest cards ever?? I made them using a Gina K. Designs stamp set. I just love it!! I was trying to keep this card simple as I am making it for some little girls in my church. I get to work in the Primary (little children) organization and am lucky enough to get to know all these little blessings from above. :)

Episode 58- Brayer Revisited

The most important thing in the world to me is my family.  They are the reason I do what I do.  They are the ones who have helped me become the mom I am.  Yes, being a mother of 5 is very hard, I'm not going to lie.  It is also very rewarding.  Today, for example, my 3 1/2 year old went potty on the potty 2 times!!!!  Small obstacles are big things in our house.  :)

An awesome RAK!!

For those of you who are not familiar with the word RAK it means "random act of kindness". This is usually where someone surprises you by sending you a card in the mail or a package. Well, yesterday I received one of these in the mail from Kim Wetzel!!!! Here are all the goodies she sent me. Thank you sooooo much Kim!!!!

P.S. I also want to add that Kim sent me this card using the brayer technique and she was able to successfully use Photo Paper.
