MRI Results

Some of you know that I had to have an MRI last Thursday for pain I have been experiencing for 14 months now. I just wanted to share that I finally heard from my dr's office (after having called 4 times!) I am so happy that it is not cancer or anything that serious. I have a "bulging disc in my thoracic spine". They are referring me to a neurosurgeon where he can hopefully recommend some physical therapy for me. I can live with this because on a scale of 1-10 it is probably only a 4, sometimes 5. I just need to slow down on the running until I am through with my appointment. We purchased a treadmill 2 weeks ago and I have been starting to run which has resulted in a little more pain in my "area" that I had an MRI done on.

I start them young!!

In my house I start them young on the crafts. Can you tell?? This is my 16 month old son trying to play with my Cricut Expression. Of course, you don't see the picture of me quickly whisking him away from this expensive piece of machinery!!

Baby Thanks

Episode 5- A fun card using the Cricut

Your Questions....

Q: Where do you get your materials for unmounting your stamps.

A: I use EZ Mount foam or Smart Cushion. I bought my EZ Mount foam off ebay (just search it), and my Smart Cushion from www.cornishheritagefarms.com.

Q: When do you have time to do this with 5 little children?

A: That is why I do this. I feel that to be a good mom I need to do something for myself. This is it. I'm able to work on my projects at night and a little during the day.

Q: What do you use to color in your stamped images?

A: Mostly I use Stampin' Write markers from Stampin' Up! but I do also own watercolor crayons, watercolor pencils, metallic pencils, pure color pencils, blender pens with ink pads, pastels. I just bought my first set of Prismacolor Pencils so watch out!!

Q: What are you going to do next with your videos??

A: Well, what would you like to see? I figure I will just start with the basics and go from there. I know most of the techniques but I really, personally, just like to keep things simple. I plan on showing a lot of my "simple" style.

Q: Are you a demonstrator for any company?

A: I was a career demonstrator for Stampin' Up! for 6 years. I retired a year and a half ago. It was a great experience and I loved working with my customers & downline. I'm very blessed to be able to do my hobby for fun now.

Glitter Tutorial

I just wanted to share a simple way to apply glitter to your project.

#1- Stamp your image.

#2- Turn your image upside down and run it through your Xyron or sticker maker.

#3- Peel the backing off of your "sticker".

#4-Pour glitter over your "sticky" image.

#5- Shake off excess glitter.

#6- Complete your project.

Tell us how you got involved with stamping & scrapbooking.

I remember a friend of mine invited me to a Stampin' Up party. I didn't want to go, but I did it for her. All of a sudden, I was a demonstrator! LOL! The rest is history. What made you decide to go into business for yourself. Whenever I couldn't find a stamp that I needed, I would just draw something. Friends and family told me I should design my own stamps. I finally took their advice. So far, so good!

Do you have anything exciting to share with us about Gina K. Designs?

Well, I do, but I can't because it's something really huge and it has to be a surprise!

Tell us abouty our family.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Tom, who I met when we were both 15. We have two wonderful daughters, Alicia, who is 12 and Rina, who is 10. Alicia draws images for Gina K. Designs and Rina is the only employee who works in shipping who has never had an error when packing an order! (And she's packed a million of them!)

What do you like to do in your "spare" time?

In my spare time, I love to just hang out with my husband and kids. We have a travel trailer and we love to go camping in the summer. Some of the best times and most laughs we've had have been when we're just sitting around the campfire roasting hotdogs. I love that.

What are your goals for the future?

Gina K. Designs will be going through some huge changes and growth within the next year. We've added a new division to our company which will benefit every stamper out there and the best part about it is it will all be free! Gotta' love free!

Here you go!! I made this card for my DH's office to give to his patients and referring doctors. His staff (all girls) just loved it. Scrapbook Time!!

I feel like I haven't scrapbooked in soooo long!! I have set a personal goal to complete 20 scrapbook pages this month and I am almost finished!! Here is a layout that I made. I just need to add my journaling and maybe some embellishments and I am done. *Voila!!!

What happened to Sage Shadow???

I was going through my stash on Saturday and wondered when the last time I used Sage Shadow was. I remember when I bought it back in 1999. I just HAD to have that color from Stampin' Up! because my sis and I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. I used it ALL the time when I because a demo in 2001 but haven't even touched it in about 3 years. Well, I decided to pull it out and give it another shot. Here it is....

Birthday Goodies

You can call me crazy because I deserve it. When our youngest first started school 5 years ago I thought it would be neat to make goodie bags for each child in her class for her birthday. Well, this has continued for her along with my other two kids in school. It is a big project but my kids love that I do it. I told them all this morning that I am stopping when they are in 5th grade!!! I guess it gives me something to do because I need that, you know. I'm certainly not busy enough with a family of 7!!

Another birthday card!

Well, here is my birthday card for my friend. The other one I made for someone else to give to a friend. I usually don't do very well with someone asking for a specific card but great when I am making something for me. This time is was just the opposite. I don't think this card turned out as AWESOME as the one I made last night but at least it is done.
