Creation

No, I am not talking about "the" creation. I'm talking about our ability, yearning to create something that was not there before. This weekend I heard a wonderful talk by one of our church leaders and this is what he talked about. He said that as humans we all have the desire to create within us. Whether it be crafts, making a garden, building a house, creating a peaceful environment for our children, etc........ we all want to create. I have been pondering about that and have come to the conclusion that I love to create paper things. Does this mean that I am only able to create crafts?? No! What I mean is that I really feel spiritually uplifted when I am scrapbooking for my family or creating a card I am going to send to somebody. I love that feeling! I love that I am able to make something out of bits & pieces. I hope you will all take a minute to think about the many things in your lives that you love to create.

I made this scrapbook page this morning. I had the urge to create something and I did. Although my style is super simple, it is what I love and I am going to stick with it. I used a Simple Scrappin' Kit by Stampin' Up! that is now discontinued. The font that I used is Storybook & Basecamp using my Cricut. I also used Stampin' Up!'s new scallop border punch (which I am NOT thrilled with). Hope you enjoy!

  1. Robyn,
I love your simple style! I too love the look of a simple scrapbook page. It helps keep the focus on the pictures and the moment captured. I enjoy seeing all your work.

I agree with the first comment by Linda. I love your simple style too. I agree with the saying "Less is more" and sometimes in scrapbooking the most gorgeous pages are some of the most simplistic ones completed. I appreciate your willingness to share and your heart.

  3. What a wonderful sentiment. Thank you for the message. Sometimes I think we get too caught up in the thought of getting it all done that we lose something in the process. Wonderful layout, as always.

  4. Robyn,
I, too, love your simple style. Mine is simple, too. Scrapbooking to me is all about the pictures and preservation of memories. I'm not into the "artsy" part and so my pages are less cluttered. I just need to get more journaling in! Keep up the creative work. I love following your blog.

I love your simple style, mine is simple also, I like to fit a lot of photos on my pages, no room for a lot of artsy embellishments. I got the stampin up scallop border punch and it wasn't sharp enough to cut the paper, I ran some layers of tinfoil throuth it and it is much better. Good luck.

  7. Yes you definitely know how to create :)

I am most at ease with myself when I am doing something artistic - I think the use of colour helps tremendously. Also just grabbing a pencil and doing whatever takes you at the time can be really beneficial :)

    Have a wonderful day :)

  11. Sometimes simple pages are more beautiful than the works of art. I too agree with everyone else that the focus of the pages is the photos and the moment, not what the latest and greatest embellishment is. While I have an appreciation for those pages, they are just not my style. Great pages and I love your blog!!! I've learned so much from the tutorials!!! TFS

  12. Your LO is beautiful.
Your words put my feelings into perspective. That is exactly how I feel when I create something for someone. I just didn't know how to put it into words.
    Thanks,

  14. I also noticed the theme of the evenings talks seemed to be "do more". And while I have no problem doing more crafts, I'm sure that's not exactly what everyone meant.
Love your style by the way.
