Allergies

Okay, I can honestly say in my 34 years of life I have never experienced allergies................ until now!! For the past few days my throat has been really itchy and scratchy. At first I thought that maybe I was getting a cold but it is just staying the same. My nose is running and I have been sneezing/light coughing because of my throat. Last night I was miserable and couldn't sleep at all. I had to get up and blow my nose. It is not like a cold, I can tell the difference now. It is just THERE and is not progressing or changing. Anyway, I feel for all of you in my life who have had to suffer. It is my turn now. The trees started to bloom this week and Bryan totally dusted the house on Saturday (what a man). I guess I will take a Claritin and hope it helps.

Other than that I am great! My Book of Mormon reading is going just as planned. I am learning so much. I am trying to highlight special versus along the way, too!!

Getting a break....

Every mom needs a break. It's just that simple. So last night a friend and I went out to dinner to get our much needed break. It was so nice to have a conversation without kids interuppting. I truly believe that in order to be a better mom we all need to take time for ourselves. I am so grateful that I have a scrapbooking hobby and a stamping hobby. I'm not sure what I would do without that time to myself.

For some reason I cannot upload pictures to my blog right now so just imagine my creations I am making with my Cricut and Cuttlebug. They are too cute!!! Maybe I can try links.....

I think that might have worked! I'm hoping to do some more this weekend. Bryan and I get to go on two dates!! We are going out to dinner tonight with some good friends and we are going over to a friend's house tomorrow night to have a St. Patrick's dinner. Should be fun. I haven't decided if we are taking the baby or leaving him. Hmmmmmmmm......... He is my sweet, little baby. Okay! We are taking him!!

Scary moment!!

I was just sitting on the computer for a minute trying to update my blog when I had this prompting to go check on Brayden. I went in the living room and he was asleep in his swing but Thomas was right in front of him. I saw that Thomas had a box of raisins in his hand but the baby was asleep so I was about to walk away when I had another impression to put my finger in the baby's mouth. I did and it was full of raisins!! Thomas had apparently shoved raisins in the sleeping baby's mouth. I got all of them out but it was a close call. What if he would have choked on them? I guess Thomas is not old enough to be around the baby even for a second by himself. Wow! I am thankful for the Holy Ghost which helped me to know that one of my children was in need.

More Personal Progress

I just have to say the my Personal Progress is moving right along. I have done about 5-6 experiences and am working on about 3-4 projects right now. I have decided to take the Book of Mormon challenge with the Young Women's president (hi Tana!). We are going to finish the BOM by Easter. I've read the BOM many times but never have I read it all in 27 days. Wish me luck! If anyone else would like to do it with us we welcome you. If you don't have your own copy of the Book of Mormon just let me know. I have extras to spare. I'm excited to read it like a novel. There are so many neat stories of faith & challenges. There is so much to learn. Well, I'd better get to reading. I've got much to do and little time to do it in.

Happy Birthday Andrew!!

Note to self...... What was I thinking????
"Look, it's a real bike!! I don't have to use my sister's girl bike anymore!!

Today is Andrew's 5th birthday. We celebrated it yesterday by serving him breakfast in bed and having a little party at the park. He got to invite 5 friends because he was turning 5. We did a cowboy theme (just so I could use my cute Cowboy Kid stamp set).

I love the Young Women!!

Tonight Bryan and I were the leaders from our ward for the Stake Youth talent show. It was super fun!! Those youth just crack me up. There was one boy who danced and it was GREAT! I haven't laughed that hard in so long. You had to be there. Afterwards Bryan and I went to Sonic with three of the Young Women from our ward. I really enjoyed just chatting with them and learning about their life. I totally feel like just one of them. Even though I know I am not. I LOVE this part of my calling in the church. I get to be a mentor for these beautiful, talented, smart, adorable young ladies. I feel very blessed. I love them just like they were my own.

I exercised!!

I can't even believe it!! I turned on my girls' Cheetah Girls CD and did aerobics/step to it for 25 minutes. Then I did 100 sit-ups!! Can you believe it?? I didn't just do regular sit-ups either. I did 20 where I had Bryan stand over me and throw my legs to the floor and I had to resist it by bringing them back up. I know I will be sore tomorrow but man I feel good now. I can't remember why I don't like to exercise. I really need to get into shape. I am still about 30 pounds from where I need to be. You can't tell when you look at me because I hide it pretty well. I know though. It's frustrating having to still wear maternity jeans when my baby is 3 months old! Another reason I want to start exercising is to make sure my body is healthy. I have been having this pain in my left side in the back under my ribs. I'm not sure if it is a pulled muscle from lifting the baby or something to do with my kidneys. I'm sure just being healthy will help it. I saved $57 today by working out at home!! Let's see how I feel tomorrow when it all hits me!!

Much to be grateful for...

One of the hymns sung at my baptism almost 12 years ago was "Count Your Blessings". I think that I forget sometimes just how many blessings I have in my life. I just wanted to take a minute to remember how thankful I am for........

***MY MOM***
*My family. I have 5 beautiful, fun kids and an AWESOME husband who would do anything for me.
*My friends. I feel blessed to have many friends in my life who I love and who love me.
*Our house. I am grateful to FINALLY be living in a nice, comfortable house after living in apartments for the first 8 years of our marriage.
*2 cars. I remember the days when we just had 1 car. All through dental school, almost!! It is a blessing to have 2.
*My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That should be number 1 on my list.
*A great extended family. I married into the BEST family in the world.
*All the many talents the Lord has blessed me with.
*Running water. I thought about the Pioneers today as I was doing my dishes and thought how they would freak if they saw how much water I was wasting.
*3 toilets in my house. I remember having 1 toilet for the first 6 years of our marriage and although it was easy to keep 1 clean, it was a pain.
*A hobby to keep me busy. I think without my scrapbooking hobby I would be bored.
*Lots and Lots more!!

Cuttlebug

I broke down and bought a Cuttlebug today. It is a companion to the Cricket and can do lots of fun things like dry embossing. I know I will use it a lot with my scrapbooking so that justified my buying it. Plus it was 40% off today, too! Here is a card I made with it. I designed a similar card the other night for Eliza and a few friends. Don't we all have the right to be princesses and "dream"?

Nothing new....

Today was a great Saturday because Bryan was home. For 1 1/2 years he worked on the side for a Dental group as their Endodontist. I had LONG Saturdays and couldn't wait for the day that he quit working for that company. He opens his practice this summer (yaaaaaaa) so he is no longer working Saturdays. It is wonderful! Even if we do nothing at least he is home with me and the kids.

Tonight I finished making 5 of those paper cakes for Relief Society. I am going to pass them out tomorrow. They turned out wonderful. I LOVE my Cricut!! It would have taking me 10 times longer to have to cut them out by hand. WOW is all I can say.

My kids are so sweet and I am so grateful to have them. Brayden is really starting to interact with us. He also started sucking his little fists today. What a sweetie pie. I just love to snuggle him and kiss his chubby cheeks. He is growing up so fast!!

Relief Society Birthday

We have our Relief Society Birthday coming up so I have been working on the publicity part. I just finished this one cake today and I have 4 more to go. Each piece will have the actual details of the night inside of it. These were kind of fun to make. They didn't take me thaaaaat long. I really am enjoying making them. Ask me after I finish the next cake if I feel the same way!!
