So much to say..............

And so little to stamp!

On Friday afternoon our air conditioning went out upstairs and that is where all my kids' rooms are and my stamp room. Needless to say, we have not been up there much. It got as hot as 92 degrees in the rooms! I do have a window unit that my DH installed for me to help keep it more bearable if I feel like stamping. The AC guys cannot even make it out until Tuesday so it has been a looooooooong weekend!!

I did scrap a couple pages this weekend but they just weren't spectacular. As soon as I can stand to be in my office for more than 10 minutes at a time I will create something fun.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My baby is just about crawling and can scoot his way around our living room. We had a little scare on Saturday because he put something in his mouth and choked on it. Thank goodness angels were watching over him and our family. He is going to be such a handful but a cute one! School starts in one month for us and a part of me is excited to get these kids back into a schedule and get some order around here but the other part of me is sad to see them grow up and be out of the house. I just love being a mom even though my kids drive me crazy. I really wouldn't have it any other way.

Good night!

A page for you....

I thought that since I have a goal of getting caught up with my scrapbooking I would try to upload a few of the pages I make weekly. I just want to share how simple I make them and then maybe some of you won't feel so overwhelmed with scrappin'. I find that not only do I enjoy doing it but my family and friends love having something tangible to look at.

Fun cards!

Here are some cards I created yesterday.

Blog Candy Baby!!

Here is some candy for you just like I promised. I have over 100 subscribers so I thought I would celebrate!! Just leave me a comment on this post and I will put your name in a drawing. I will pick the winner on Monday. This is going to be fun!!!

For some weird reason Blogger had me as a spam blog and would not let me post anything for over 24 hours! It was torture. I'm glad to be back!!

Here is a card I made for the SCS color challenge yesterday. Very fun card made using Terrific Tulips, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, and Old Olive.

BTW- I'm not as dizzy anymore. I think it was just a virus. Thank you to everyone who e-mailed me about it. I am touched by your concern. :)

As promised I am going to have some yummy candy to give away so just watch for it! I'm going up to my stamp room to see what I can give away. Thank you so much for reading my blog. I hope I can send a little inspiration your way. Mostly I am just doing it for me and for some fun!!

Dizzy Blonde??

Okay, I don't know what is wrong with me. Maybe one of you can help diagnose my problem. Last night in the middle of the night I got up and couldn't even walk straight. I was soooo super dizzy. This morning I woke up and still had that same feeling. It has stuck with me throughout the entire day. Every time I close my eyes it feels like the room is spinning. Could I be getting the flu?? I just feel really weird.

I was able to scrap two pages today. Kind of one of my Sunday activities. It is very relaxing and I also feel like I am working on my family heritage. I love to be able to journal while I am remembering about that time in our lives. I will be caught up soon. I made a decision this weekend about placing my next SU order. I decided that I am not going to order anything until I am caught up on my scrapbooking. I have so much stuff that I need to use before I order more. It gives me a nice incentive to get current. Of course, that doesn't mean I will not be going to Hobby Lobby this week and using the 40% off coupon. :)

Sweet Monkey

I have a very dear friend who loves monkeys so I created this card with her in mind. I used the new Bazzill Bling cardstock and it is so shiny! Love it!! The monkey stamp is from Stampendous and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The paper is Hobby Lobby paper with Close to Cocoa cardstock.

July Swap Card

Here is the card I made for this months swap card. I used Mixed Bouquet stamp set, and the colors I used were Regal Rose, Marigold Morning, and Mellow Moss. The Cricut was used to made the scallop circle (of course) and the Cuttlebug was used to make the embossed background.

Lots of scrappin'!!

Over the past two weeks I have accomplished a lot with my scrapbooking. These pages are very simple but they are done!! Today I will be officially beginning April 2007!!! I cannot even believe it. I was at least 4 years behind when I was doing this as a job. Now that it is just a hobby I am having a blast with it! (Tip: If you want to see the pages better or read the journaling just click on the picture and a larger one will appear.)

Favorite Salsa Recipe

My friend Ranae made me some of the best salsa last year and it has since become a family favorite. Everyone who has ever had this at my house has fallen in love with it. It is super easy to make and only takes about 5 minutes.

Ranae's Salsa
1 can diced tomatoes (regular size can)
1 can Rotelle ( I use the green mild can)
1-2 tsp lemon juice
Cut up almost an entire bunch of Cilantro
2 stalks of green onions including all of the green part and half of the white part
Salt & Pepper to taste.

Throw everything in a blender and blend. Serve with corn chips. We like the Scoops kind!

My Photo In A Box

I wanted to explain a little bit about how I take "most" of my pictures for my blog. Sometimes I am in a hurry and will just snap a picture or stick a piece of white cardstock behind and underneath my project. This is what is called "Photoshop in a Box". I bought it on Ebay a couple of months ago. I think I paid $20 for it and that included shipping. I did not invest in the nice lighting yet but I think my system works for now.

It is stored in this little black bag. Very compact and easy to put away.

Here is just the box before I open it to put my projects in.

This is a picture of it open.

For lighting I use my OTT Light. Here are a few examples...

Finally here is my finished picture. I also use my "Enhance" feature on my photo software if needed. It seems to brighten it up very nicely.

Bling Baby!

Today when I was at Hobby Lobby I picked up some Bazzill Bling cardstock to try out. They were 50% off so I just couldn't pass that deal up! Can I say that I LOVE this "bling" cardstock? Very shimmery and fun effect. For this card I used Sketch an Event from Stampin' Up!, Designer Series paper, Pretty In Pink & Whisper White cardstock, and Stampin' Write markers. For the accessories I used Saffron mini brads & pink organdy ribbon. The scallop was made with my Cricut machine using the Mini Monograms cartridge. I just love that machine!!

Envelopes, please???!!!

Why is it that everytime I create a card I forget to make a matching envelope WHILE I have everything out? Here is the pile of cards that I need to make matching envelopes for today. Next time I will remember to do the envelope at the same time. This stack is crazy!!

Baby Shower

Last night a friend and I had a baby shower for another friend that is due in just a few weeks. Everything was wonderful! I brought these little party favors and homemade salsa (which my family got into before I left so it was only a half batch).

I covered these Hershey's Nuggets with patterned paper at 1"x3". Very easy. I Cuttlebugged the topper, used eyelets, and cut the feet out with my Cricut using the New Arrival Cartridge. I made 30 of these and almost all of them were handed out last night.

Oh well, not picked again...

I just received word that I did not make it onto another Design Team. I have applied for two and have had two rejections. I really like clean, simple cards but I guess that is not what the craft industry is looking for. That's okay. I don't need to be recognized for my work, I mainly make my creations to give away and just for my simple pleasure. Designing is a great creative outlet for a stay at home mom of 5 small children.

I will definitely upload some fun stuff this week. Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog. :)

Great blog! Congratulations on 10,000!

"Cool" card.

I just love this cute little penguin from Stampin' Up's Wild About You set. I thought this would make a fun winter card. I used Basic Black, Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery, & Whisper White.

ETA... I just realized you cannot see that the black cardstock is embossed with the Cuttlebug's Snowflake folder. It is super cute in person!

Limited Supply Challenge

Okay, here's my card for today's SCS challenge. I'm not sure if I'm too happy about it. I really like my scallop square border from my Cricut but not too sure about the flowers.

Scrappin' Last Night!

Last night I had a few minutes to scrap. Here are some of my super simple pages but, hey, they are done!! The "Cherish" one was case'd from Scrapbooks, etc. magazine.

Colors used on this page are Rose Red, Certainly Celery, & Cool Caribbean."Fun Times" used Lime, Real Red, and Brocade Blue.
This "Cherish" page used Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, & Brocade Blue.

Don't forget about the blog candy!!

I'm going to do the drawing for my Blog Candy giveaway on Friday. Don't forget to make a comment on THIS post. I will try to mail it out on Saturday or Monday.

I am also almost ready to give away some more candy for getting 50 more subscribers, too!! Yippee!

I've been tagged....

Okay, I'll play. I need to share 7 things about me.

#1- I try to make everyone laugh and I think I'm pretty funny. Don't ask DH, he might not agree.

#2- My kids' friends think I'm the cool mom. My kids don't agree, though.

#3- If I could do anything besides being a mom it would be to dance. I grew up in tap, jazz, ballet, and gymnastics. I would love to perform!

#4- Okay, I'll admit it. My favorite show on TV is Hannah Montana. I think she is so super talented, funny, and cute.

#5- My first car was the "cockroach", as my friends called it. I had a 1979 Celica that was a hatchback with a sunroof. Pretty stinkin' cool!!

#6- My mom had a red Yugo with a black leather bra on the front. She used to drop me off at Highschool and everyone thought it was so funny. I was humiliated back then but now I think it's pretty cool. That car lasted her forever and she got awesome mileage on it.

#7- I was head cheerleader my Senior year in highschool. Yep, I'm one of those! I think I have changed since then a lot but I still love to do cheers for my family!

I don't think I will tag anyone today. Thanks to those who tagged me this week. This was fun!!

What do you think?

Okay for this card I had to totally come out of my comfort zone. I seem to have this clean, crisp, orderly style. I'm trying to get a little bit more creative with my projects. What do you think? Peaceful Garden stamp set by Stampin' Up! Colors used True Thyme, Cranberry Crisp, & So Saffron.

Blogger RAKS

I received that awesome Blogger RAK from Beate . Isn't this the cutest little card. I highly recommend you check out her blog. It is incredible!!

I just love this other RAK I received from Tammy at StampWithTammy . The colors are a wonderful choice and the ribbon with the buckle is too cute. Check out her blog. You will love it!

Almost 10,000 hits!!

Wow! I can't believe that my blog has been viewed 10,000 times since May 2007! That is when I put my counter up. Thank you all for checking it out. I'm so glad that I haven't bored you. I think that I will put some fun stuff up when I hit 10,000 to give away as blog candy. Man! I really wish I could put my homemade bread on there but it wouldn't taste as good after being in the mail for a few days. I'll let you all know soon.

I haven't posted in the past few days because I have just been having a fun time with summer and my kids. Thursday a friend came over and took my kids to our pool so I could have some quiet time alone while the babies slept. Instead of stamping I cleaned my kitchen and baked some bread. Yummy!! On Friday I took my kids to see the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History. It was great!! My first time ever stepping into a museum. Last night our church rented out a small water park and we hung out there for a couple of hours. Super fun!! I have already taken my kids to our pool today. It's nice that it is only 5 houses down and we can walk to it. It's also nice that hardly anyone goes to it at this time of day. I'm trying to turn my white skin into a little bit of brown. We will see.

Another note. I lost 1 more pound doing Slim Fast!! I even had a huge bowl of ice cream last night and brownies at our pool party!! Here is me sounding like a commercial..... "I just have a shake for breakfast, a bar for lunch, and a few healthy snacks during the day. After 4pm I eat normal with my family." Maybe I am not losing a ton of weight like I did in the beginning but I will be happy with a pound a week!! I am feeling better about myself and that is all that matters.

Okay, maybe I will make a card in a bit. I have to get caught up with that stinkin' laundry!! We go through so many towels during the summer. It's crazy!!

I love paper!!

Besides having this crazy addiction to have everything pink I also have the urge to own TONS of paper. Cardstock, vellum, patterned paper, etc...... Here is "some" of my paper. I guess I feel that I can always use paper.

This is all my patterned paper below.

P.S. I love paper!!

Today's Sketch Challenge

Here is a card I made using todays Sketch Challenge as an inspiration. I used the set Olive you from Stampin' Up! and some paper I have in a stack.

Sweet Card....

I started out making a card for this week's SCS color challenge and then it turned into something totally different. Isn't this set the cutest thing? It was made especially for a little girl named Alexa who has Luekemia. You can buy it from and all the proceeds for the set benefit the cause. Hope you enjoy....

I just went to this site to have my blog rated and this is what it came up with.....

Free Online Dating

I guess this blog is fit for any audience!!

Inspiration Challenge

Both of these cards were inspired by a piece of clothing for a challenge on SCS. I used the colors Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal, Cool Caribbean, & Creamy Caramel. The stamps were Paisley from CHF, Butterflies from Papertrey Ink, and Roses in Winter from Stampin' Up!. Enjoy!
