Sticky mess!!!

Well, I guess it really is one of those days!! I went to get ready in my bedroom while I left the boys watching Noggin. I came out and couldn't believe my eyes. Thomas, my 2 year old, had grabbed the bottle of pancake syrup from the table and had squeezed it out EVERYWHERE in our living room. He even squeezed it on the wall, on Katelyn's Hannah Montana CD, on the CD player, the fireplace, his blankie, ALL over the carpet. Then he had the nerve to cry why I took him to time out like he didn't know what he did was wrong. Give me a break. You had it easy, kid!! You are lucky I'm not a mom who likes to spank. Honestly I'm not really mad. I am past that point. Kind of like a shrug my shoulders, what can you do, sort of feeling. Wow!! We've got a big mess to clean but I can't do it now because I am on my way out the door!! I took pics so I will upload them with this later.

  1. I understand those times when you just have to deal with it without getting mad, but syrup? On everything? I think I would break down and cry! Of course, I am just trying to figure out how to juggle 2 kids now. I can't imagine 5 at this point. I guess it's good they come one at a time(in most cases) so you can develop your patience gradually as you go!

  2. Why do I feel like I could totally relate? That's something my kids would totally do. Now I know to always put the syrup away before I leave the room. Thanks for sharing, it helps me feel better to know my kids aren't the only ones who cause disaster areas at home.

  3. Oh dear... I have completely been there, done that... but for us it was honey, and it was across the living room floor and in the next room... I can completely understand the thought of not being mad, because you are just too worn out to really process any emotion- if you get mad, you know you will feel guilty later, so you just deal with it. {{{{Robyn}}}}

    Monday I forgot to put the honey up after lunch and left the kitchen to do something in another room. I came back to my 3 year old making "muffins" by pouring the honey into the muffin tins... at least that time the mess was contained to the muffin tins and the counter top in the kitchen.

  4. Yep, those two year olds. A few weeks ago my two year old got the strawberry syrup out of the fridge--you know the kind for strawberry milk--and emptied the bottle on my bedroom carpet. I worked on that trying to clean it up for two hours and there is still a pink stain. I cried. Two days ago he climbed up on the counter got the honey out of the cupboard and poured himself a "grink" by filling a plastic cup with it. He is definitely a handful. I'm hoping he will settle down in the next few months before the baby is born. It makes me a little nervous.

Thanks for leaving me a comment! I love to hear from you!!
