Happy Sunday!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!  Mine was pretty good.  I had the opportunity to teach the Young Women in my ward.  I'm really enjoying my new calling as the Young Women president.  It's a busy job but I am already loving being with all the girls.  Keeps me young!

Today I taught How to be in the World and not of the World.  It's something that we can all think about.  Here's the link to one of the articles I used for my lesson.  You can click HERE to learn more about my church or feel free to e-mail me at any time with questions.  I'd love to share what I know with YOU!

Here's a quick pic I took of me and some of our Young Women.  I'm such a dork but I wanted to be in a picture WITH all of these awesome girls!  Makes me feel younger!

We are at the final countdown until we move into our new house!  Only 23 days left to go!!  TICK TOCK TICK TOCK!  I can hardly contain my excitement!  We have been living in furnished rentals since last January.  I cannot wait to unpack my stuff.  It will be like Christmas!!

Thank you all for your input on the wall color for My Pink Loft!  I decided to go with Revere Pewter.  We are using it for most of our house and I just LOVE it!  Very calming and neutral.  I am going to accent with Pink and other fun colors in my loft.  Plus, now I can get a sofa for that room and not worry about matching it with a certain shade of pink.  I can't wait to share my new room with all of you and to start filming videos again!  It's been soooooo long!

Here are some pics I snapped on Saturday afternoon after they painted the upstairs.  Should I call it My Pewter Loft now?  Lol!

On another note….  my 16 year old daughter went on her first date this weekend!!  I can't believe how fast my children are growing up.  Such a weird feeling.  Before I know it both of my girls are going to be off and married!  Here is a pic of her in the beautiful dress that it took 4 hours to find.  We have certain standards in our church and it was really tough to find a modest dress.  Even in Utah.  So grateful that we were able to find one at the last store.  You can click HERE to read about our Youth's Standards.

Have I told you guys how much I love living in Utah?  Such a beautiful place to be near the mountains and also near my family.  I was able to go to a movie with my mom last night which was wonderful.  She only lives about 20 minutes away!  My family and I went to the high school football homecoming game this past Friday night and it was so awesome!  I love being part of this "small" community.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!  I will try to check in again real soon!

Love and hugs!

To Pink or Not to Pink….. That is the Question!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today is my most favorite day of the week!  It's a time where I can catch up, clean up, and rest from the weekend!  Did you all know that my husband has been living in Oklahoma for the entire Summer??!!  3 full months since we've moved here!  He finally moves to Utah with us THIS Friday!  I'm jumping out of my seat for joy!!  WOOOO HOOOOO!!!   It's been a long, hard Summer.

So, they are almost done painting the basement of our new house and I have to have all of the colors picked for the other floors!  YIKES!  I am having the hardest time thinking of a PINK for My Pink Loft!  A part of me just wants to do it in Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter like the rest of the walls in my home.  The bedrooms will probably be different colors, though.

Let's do a little pole……

Pink - Yes

Not Pink - (You will still love me anyway!)

Here is one of the pinks I am looking at.  I know some of you have suggested a lighter pink but honestly, that doesn't get my creative mood going.  I need either all or nothing.  Vibrant & bright or neutral.

Sherwin Williams Hibiscus

Here is Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter

I'm sure it will be fine either way.  Just having major guilt if I don't do my room in pink.  It's not going to cost me any more money to pick a nice color.  It's just easier for the painters to do it all one color, which means we move in quicker, too!  Plus, not sure if I will find the right shade of pink.  So many colors to choose from!!

On another note, here is a sneak peek of my laundry room.  It is almost completely installed.  I can't wait to do laundry in it!  I'm such a horrible laundry lady.   Maybe this will help me stay more organized and on top of things.

I hope you all have a great day!!  Talk to you soon!

My Pink Loft and a little treat for my young women!

Hello Everyone!

I thought I would take a minute to share some pics of My Pink Loft with you!  Things are crazy busy around here!  Hopefully we are in the final stretch.  They started painting this week.  Yay!!

Here are the builtins specifically designed for my scrapbook collection.  It is located conveniently outside of my craft room.  It will be nice to have a place to put them all.  I just need to add a chair so we can sit and look at all our past memories.

Here is picture of our little Muffin.  He just got a hair cut yesterday so he's not so scruffy!  I snapped this picture since he was sitting next to a stuffed animal.  I think my kids put it there.

I am teaching the Laurel class in Young Women tomorrow.  For those of you who didn't hear, I just got called to be the new Young Women President of our ward.  I had only been there for 9 weeks!!  I thought I was lying low but you can't hide from the Lord.  Looks like He knows how much I will grow from this new responsibility.  And here I thought I was going to get a break in Utah!  HA!  Tomorrow I am teaching "How can I prepare now to become a righteous wife and mother".  You can click HERE to read some of the materials I am using.   I'm not sure what direction I will go yet but I've been studying this week and am sure I will be inspired with what the girls need to learn.  I am bringing some candy treats so that I can bribe encourage the girls to comment.  :)

I got this awesome gray chevron ribbon at Hobby Lobby.  I love it!!

I will try to check in again soon!

Update on My Pink Loft and Utah!

Hello my dear friends!

It has been a long time, I know.  We are about 2 months away from moving into our new home.  The time is tick, tick, ticking away!!  I am so happy that our rental is only 3 miles away from our new build as I am over there at least 2 times a day.

Here are some of the latest pics of My Pink Loft.  I still haven't decided what color the walls will be.  I know you are all shouting "PINK!!!" but I might want a more neutral color so I can accessorize with pink.  I have about 6 more weeks to stew over it.  I am going to be purchasing these cubbies from Ikea. It is sooooo awesome having an Ikea nearby!  Can you say……  SHOPPING!!??

Here is our loft framed and now with insulation.

I hope you are all having a great Summer!  I'll check in soon!  The countdown is looking like about 8 weeks!!

Coming Soon…. My Pink Loft - Utah Edition! (October 2014)

Hello Everyone!

Well, you asked for it!  LOL!  Some of you requested that I share more of what is going on with our new build and our move to Utah this week.  I am happy to share.  Just don't want to bore you with it all.

This is my new Pink Loft design.  It is about the same length as my old Pink Loft but will be completely rectangle so it will seem more spacey.  The wall on the right will be my back drop for my new videos along with 2 Ikea cube systems.  I haven't decided if I want to paint this room pink yet.  So many decisions to make!  My paper storage will all be on the South wall when you first walk in, also in an Ikea cube storage system.  Not sure where my tables will go or if I will just have one in the middle.  I would like to have a chair in the top left between the balcony doors and the window.  Kind of a hangout spot for those who want to sit and talk, or like my sister will be doing, sit and knit!

I'm going to really utilize my storage closet and put items in there that I don't use very often.  I don't want my room to feel as cluttered as my last one did.  Also, the kids will use this room to work on school projects or just craft with their friends.

Here is a picture of my new loft framed, as of last week!  It looks like it is on the first level because of the dirt you see out the window but it is actually on the 2nd story.  That dirt pile is over 10 feet high!!  YIKES!  Hope they take the dirt with them when they are finished!

Here is the view that I will get to see from my window.  I feel so blessed.  Honestly, we bought the land and didn't even really think twice about the view.  We just felt that this is where the Lord wanted our family to move.

Hope you enjoyed the pics!!  Looking forward to sharing more with you in the weeks to come.  :)

4 Days and Counting (Oklahoma Memories)

Hello Everyone!

I know it has been about 2 months since I last posted.  I have thought about updating a couple of times but then got busy or just felt overwhelmed.  We are getting ready to make the trek to Utah.  Only 4 days until we pack up the last of our belongings and memories here in Oklahoma and take our 5 kids out West.  We have known about this move for almost 3 years now since we were both inspired that we needed to be by our families.  I have anticipated starting the build of our new house and moving closer to my mom, sister, and in-laws.  Now that the time is so close I am SOOOOOOO sad to move!!  I have made so many memories here in Oklahoma.  I thought for this post I would share some of my favorite moments from this season of my life.  YOU are part of that season, too!

*STARTED MY BLOG - In October 2006 I started My Pink Stamper but for those of you who were with me from the beginning you know that it used to be called the Chronicles of my Life.  Click HERE to read my first post.  I was expecting my 5th child and was just really overwhelmed with life.

Here is a picture of the first craft I shared on my blog.

*I HAD MY LAST TWO BABY BOYS - Oklahoma will always have a special place in my heart because I had my two youngest here.  I was actually pregnant with my 4th child when we moved here from Florida.  I basically raised all 5 kids here for the last 10 years. I am so grateful that my children have been able to experience Oklahoma.  What a great place to raise our family!

*I TRAINED AND RAN A MARATHON! - I'm seriously not trying to brag or anything but I really ran a marathon!!  I think I am still in awe that I did it.  I started running and losing weight in January of 2009 and then 8 months later ran a marathon in 4 1/2 hours!  I NEVER ran before in my life and honestly hadn't even exercised since high school.  I was determined though once I put my mind to it.  Someone even told me that they didn't think I could do it.  That really helped put a fire under me!  LOL!   Here is the marathon video I filmed and some pics.  I will always think of Oklahoma when I look back on this time in my life.  The greatest thing about this experience was that I got to run it with my best friend, my husband.  That will always be special to me.

*I GOT A CRICUT MACHINE AND STARTED SHARING MY CREATIONS! - I was dealing with a little postpartum depression after my 5th child so my husband surprised me by giving me a Cricut.  That is where it all started!  Here is the first card I made using my new baby bug.

*I STARTED PLAYING TENNIS AS AN ADULT AND MADE A TON OF AWESOME TENNIS FRIENDS - One of the things I am going to miss most about Oklahoma is the many friends I have made by playing tennis.  I have finally gotten to the point where I know almost EVERYONE at the tennis facility I play at.  It seriously feels like my 2nd home.  The women there are so genuine and have made me feel so accepted and needed over the years.  I have been able to play competitively over the past 3 years and have loved every team I have been on.

My first USTA Team - Purple Power!

*SERVING THE YOUNG WOMEN IN OUR WARD - One of my favorite callings in my ward here in Edmond was working with the Young Women.  In our church we are "called" or assigned to work in different areas.  We do not get to request or sign up….  It is completely a call from the Lord.  I truly believe that.  I never would have thought I would get the opportunity to work in Young Women but it was one of the biggest blessings of Oklahoma.  I felt connected to these wonderful girls and also the leaders.  I was able to go to Girls' Camp a couple of Summers ago and had the time of my life!

*SERVING AS THE RELIEF SOCIETY PRESIDENT IN OUR WARD - A week after I returned home from Girls Camp I was called to be the Relief Society President in our ward.  I was overwhelmed and humbled by the calling.  It was a big task to be in charge of so many talented and amazing women. One of the greatest things I learned by serving them was getting to love them individually.  I got a little taste of what the Savior probably feels for each of us.  He loves us unconditionally, flaws and all.  I still love all of these women even though I am no longer serving them.  This was one of the biggest growing experiences in my life and I will cherish it always.

*THE MISSIONARIES - Oh man!!  I need like 10 pages to share all of my memories of our Edmond 3rd Ward missionaries.  I feel that my family has received so many blessings by feeding them, going out with them, and helping them in any way we could.  They really have been such a big part of my life here and I will miss having the opportunity to know them so personally.  In Utah there are so many members of my church (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) that you rarely get to feed the missionaries and rarely get the chance to know them at all.  Everyone also wants to serve them there!!  I am planning on having a little missionary reunion this Fall for all of the Edmond 3rd ward missionaries who have returned home.  That will feel like a homecoming getting to see them all again and some with their new little families.  :)

*CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY WITH A SPECIAL GIRLFRIENDS' DINNER ALMOST EVERY YEAR! - Holy cow!  I have the best friends EVER!  These past 8 years of celebrating my birthday with a dinner has been amazing.  I just love all of you and am so thankful for these memories.

I cannot even begin to share how much I am going to miss my Oklahoma friends.  They have been with me through the ups and downs in my life.  They have been a strength to me during the storms that I've encountered.  I love them with all my heart and have truly been blessed by knowing them.

*BEING ABLE TO SHARE MY RELIGION AND STARTING THE BOOK OF MORMON BLOG - I grew so much spiritually and as a person by reading and then recording my thoughts on the blog about the Book of Mormon.  This was one of the highlights of my life!  Thank you to all who read along with me.  I will treasure this experience for a lifetime and more.
You can click HERE to read or follow that blog.  I am still sending out copies of the Book of Mormon if anyone is interested.   I would be honored to send you one!

I have so many more favorites I want to share but I need to get this posted so I can continue to give you all updates.  Thank you for hanging in there with me even when I only update once every few months! I know that it will be easier once we are in our new house at the end of the Summer.

Love you all!!
