Happy Valentine's Day (A little late!)

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to post some of our Valentine's Day pictures before I forget.  Most of you know that I started a tradition of a "Pink Breakfast" every Valentine's morning.  We are in our rental right now so I had to make it all work on this table for 4.

I made Red Velvet homemade cupcakes for my tennis friends and for my Relief Society cooking class. Click HERE for the recipe I used.

I waited until the last minute to make 48 of these goodie bags.  I would like to say these didn't take much time but that would be a lie.  The bees alone took about 4-5 hours.  Then I ran out of time and had to fold over regular white paper and stamp them.  That's okay, though, because the children loved them anyway.  The bee is from Create a Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge.

I made the following 6 goodie bags in 5 minutes for my 13 year old.  She wanted some for her BFFs.

This year my husband started a tradition for my girls that my father (who passed away when I was 22) did for me.  He gave them each a box of Valentine chocolates.  Each of my daughters was super touched.

My 9 year old (who is such a SWEET boy) wanted to do something special for a little girl in his class. He got her chocolates, a stuffed animal, a rose, and wrote her a poem.  He didn't end up giving these to her, as it isn't allowed at school, but what a sweet thought he had.  I know that all 3 of my boys are going to make wonderful husbands just like their daddy.

For Valentine's night I ended up going to the mall with my oldest daughter (almost 16) to find a dress for the "modest" prom our church was holding.
In my church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also known as the Mormon Church, the youth have a certain set of standards they are asked to follow.  They are in categories of dress, media, language, dating, etc.  It took us about 3 hours to find a dress that fit these guidelines.  I think we did good, what do you think?  I am so grateful for my daughters and what great examples they are to me.  If you would like to read more about my church's standards for our youth click HERE.  To learn more about my church in general click HERE.

So my husband and I ended the night by going out to a late dinner at a Thai restaurant.  Perfect ending to an almost perfect day.

Temporary Craft Room Set Up and Supplies

Well, HELLO, Everyone!!

Did you miss me??  Life has been sooooo crazy over the past month and a half.  We moved out of our home the first week of January and have already been in two rental homes!  The first rental didn't work out (plumbing issues) so we had to move again this past Saturday.  We will be in this rental for the next 4 months until we move to Utah.

I had packed up all my craft room supplies and put them in storage, thinking that I wouldn't need them until we moved into our new build the first week of September.  I decided yesterday that I couldn't wait that long!  I had my husband go with me to the storage unit where we pulled out my Cricut and a couple other boxes of supplies.  I have now set up a temporary craft room in my master bedroom.  No more late night crafting but at least I have a place to release my creative expression!  I have missed it so much.  I took some pictures for you of my new set up.

This is pretty much all I will need for the next 4 months.  Of course, I might need to head over to the storage unit and pick up a few more things.  ;)

I had to go and get new Cricut cutting mats since I'm not sure which box mine are in.  Plus I needed some new adhesive.

I had some of my 12x12 paper in my scrapbooking tote and got this little stack at Hobby Lobby.

Gotta have my favorite Cricut carts available!!

Some embellies and tools!  I just need to find the box with My Pink Stamper Stamps in it!

A little Hobby Lobby ribbon!

So happy that I had some supplies still in my scrapbook tote!

My little craft area!  I feel very blessed!

I hope you are all doing well!  I will try to do better to update this blog.  We start the building process March 1st and then move to Utah at the end of May.  Wow!  Time is flying by so fast!

Hugs,
Robyn

Our Big News!

Hello Everyone!

I thought I would go ahead and post our big news because the cat is pretty much out of the bag.  Most of you won't think this is a big deal but it is all we can think about these days!

We are moving to Utah!!  I cannot believe I can finally write this!  We bought our land over 2 1/2 years ago and start building this coming March 1st.  We will not move out there until the end of May but have a lot going on until then.  We have decided to go ahead and put our house up for sale at the beginning of January just to give it more time to sell.  We don't want to get stuck with two houses again!  LOL!  That was a learning experience.  We are moving into a rental house in 3 weeks and will be there for the next 5 months until we move.  With all of that said…..  I have packed up My Pink Loft!!  I started a couple of months ago because I knew it would take me a long time.  Plus, I need to paint that room so it will be a nice, normal game room instead of my BRIGHT pink studio!  LOL!!  I did take some pictures as I was packing up my loft over these past months.  So sad but exciting, too!

Over 60 boxes later……..  I am almost all cleaned out of there and can start painting on Monday!  I am so excited for my new home and Craft Room to be finished!!  I look forward to many more videos in the future and lots of crafting to share!   I hope you will now understand why I have been so absent lately.  Just a bunch going on.  :)

We are moving to Utah because that is where both of our families live.  My husband and I met in Utah, got married a year later, and then moved out of state with a brand new baby two years later.  We will have been gone for 16 years.  It is time for us to go home.  This is what I miss about Utah…

And this one is my favorite!

Now that the cat is out of the bag, I will be able to post more often about what I am up to.  Thanks for being the best online friends EVER!!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I haven't been in my craft room all week!!  So many things to do in the month of December.  We are expecting a big ice storm this weekend so it looks like we might be stuck indoors as a family.  YAY!  Hot cocoa and game day!  Last week we went to Utah for Thanksgiving.  Here are some pics.  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Thank you Robyn and thank you Jo! All of the bags are beautiful but I would choose either the Siena or the Georgia Herringbone! Love the shape of both of those!

Mod Podge Crazy!

Hello Everyone!

Today I have gone Mod Podge crazy!  Honestly, I don't ever remember even using Mod Podge.  That is something Karlee likes to use but I usually stay far away!  LOL!  I don't like messy things.  What I found today was that it wasn't messy at all and took hardly any time!  Here are the two projects I finished within an hour!

Step #1:
I first bought my chipboard letters from Hobby Lobby for $1 a piece!  They are usually $1.99 but were on sale for 50% off!

Step #2:
Pick your patterned paper.  Trace it from the chipboard.  Then manually cut it out!  Sorry, you cannot use your diecut machine for this one!

Step #3:
Apply a THIN coat of Mod Podge to the chipboard letter.  If you do not want your paper to bubble then you need to make sure your coat is super thin!!

Step #4:
Put your cut out patterned paper over the mod podged chipboard and smooth out with your hand.

Step #5:
Apply another THIN coat of mod podge on top of the paper.

Step 6:
Let the paper dry and you are finished!!  VOILA!!

Hope you all have a GREAT day and enjoyed my simple project!!
